I suppose the follow up question is:
If Kane isn’t the best striker around, who is?
I’m not including Messi or Ronaldo as they’re not really traditional strikers. Besides, they’re both on another level entirely. With that in mind, you could probably put a case forward for Aguero, Lewandowski, Suarez, Aubamayang, Dybala and maybe one or two more.
On current form, I’d have Kane above any one of those players. As good as Aguero is, and has been, there are question marks over his fitness and he’s unlikely to develop much further now, whereas Kane seems to just be getting better and better.

Like others, I’ve written off Kane in the past as a flash in the pan but he continues to prove me wrong. I’ve heard people say he’s now potentially the best striker in the world. It’s a big shout but his record for this calendar year suggests he has a right to at least be mentioned in those terms.
For me, he’s a good World Cup away from being in with a shout for a Ballon D’Or, assuming he keeps up his PL & CL form. In years gone by, he’d have been snapped up by the likes of Utd or Chelsea but it’s refreshing to see him staying, even just for the short term. If Spurs start offering the wages that the other big clubs offer, once their new stadium is bringing in higher revenues, then I can’t see why he would leave any time soon

This City side are really going to take some stopping aren’t they? As are Spurs. Utd are doing a good job of disposing of these smaller sides but we’re yet to see them really tested. Liverpool VS Utd is going to be their first real test.

Yeah, as Hightown said, it’s a Stadium in Poland which I had no idea about when I added it to the top of the page! Here’s the thread where Alfie managed to find it:
Looking forward to the Chelsea v City game. Real shame to see Aguero will be out for a while though

I really can’t see Munich appointing a manager who Dortmund sacked in Tuchel. I think it will be the younger manager from (I think) Hoffenheim. Klopp could well end up at Bayern but he doesn’t strike me as someone who walks away from a job unless he feels he’s done everything he can. He had plenty of chances to leave Dortmund for bigger clubs and never did so I think he’ll stay out for now.
Ancelotti to West Ham is a big shout and I can definitely see that. He’s familiar with London from his Chelsea days and I think would choose them over Everton given the chance.
Ancelotti is a strange one. He has won the lot but he’s now been sacked a few times now. People often criticise José, Pep and the like for only going to the richest clubs and, with that, downplaying their achievements. Ancelotti seems to often escape that criticism though. Is it just because he seems quite a likeable man? Either way, it’s hard to see him getting another elite club job without first going to a lesser club and proving himself again.

United completely in control here with Lukaku looking like he will get his hattrick at some point. Draw away at A Madrid would be a decent result for Chelsea. Even Celtic doing well away at Anderlecht. PSG going to take some beating this year. This Bayern side just don’t seem the side they were 2,3 years ago

Well Kane has just added another £50mil to his already extortionate price tag after that hattrick tonight.
I expected City to be further ahead than they are. Liverpool still very capable of getting a winner.

Looking forward to the games tonight. City will no doubt get another big confidence boosting win ahead of a difficult trip to Chelsea at the weekend. Liverpool will win I think but it’s not the easiest place to go. Spurs have been so strong away from home and I can only see another win for them

Strong week for you last week Jim. You only got one result wrong as well as 1 correct score. I’ll try to figure out a way to also show the rankings for a given week rather than just the cumulative rankings.

Chucky closing the gap at the top of the table and improving his avg points again! Dallas with a stunning debut week calling the results correctly for all but 2 of the games as well as 1 correct score. All still to play for!

Utd, Spurs, Chelsea and Liverpool all have games they could drop points in. I have a feeling, though, that Spurs will get a decent win at West Ham and push Bilic even further towards the exit.
Everton should get their season back on track tomorrow after a disappointing start. Liverpool are anyone’s guess. They could blow Leicester away or they could lose by a couple of goals. So hard to call with this Liverpool side. They need a confidence boosting win to get out of this rut.

I find it astonishing quite how much Chelsea are able to sell their players for Nine! Whoever’s negotiating the sales of these players needs a pay rise. Costa’s a very good forward but this is a player who was clearly not wanted and is nearing 30. A lot of clubs could learn from Chelsea’s transfer dealings imo

21st September 2017 at 10:37 am in reply to: Poll- Who will be the next Premier League Manager to go? #5401Hightown, I wouldn’t have even included Klopp to be honest! I was just curious to see if anyone actually thought he would be the next to go as I had read the odds on him going had started to shorten. I’ve taken him away now after the obvious hijack!

Had to have a look Nine as I couldn’t remember. Callum Hudson-Odoi was his name. I only saw the highlights but he did a stunning assist and looked to have been the star of the game. Here’s the lad:
Check out this assist from Callum Hudson-Odoi for #CFCDev against Man Utd last night! ?

Swansea away for Utd. Probably the toughest of the big sides but Utd should still have enough to get past them.

Always nice to see some of the young ones play Nine. There was a young kid who played for Chelsea U23s against Man Utd U23s about a week ago who completely ran the show but I can’t remember his name. He could well go on to big things
