Would that be the same Son who won the Golden Boot a couple of seasons back?
Well if he doesn’t do it every season, he’s not top drawer π.
I always thought Bale was over-hyped but it didn’t stop the Spurs fans getting over excited every time he got the ball did it? π

It really is quite odd. There was a season or so before last season where I, and many others, questioned whether he was having a similar decline to Dele Alli where he just seemed to lose confidence and form. It then became apparent he was playing through quite a lot of pain before finally having shoulder surgery. Then last season, he just seemed to find the same kind of form and confidence he had when he first broke through, running at players with no fear and scoring from everywhere on the pitch.
At his best, he’s amongst the most dangerous attacking players in Europe. At his worst, he’s completely anonymous. So I don’t think he’s overhyped per se. He just seems to be one of these players who is entirely dependent on form and being in the right frame of mind. The very top players maintain those high standards and Rashford is now at an age where it’s now or never if he’s to show he can do it over a sustained period and not suffer these huge dips in form. He’s also not the greatest at pressing from the front which puts a lot of onus on the rest of the attacking line to do that. It really is time he was dropped and Ten Hag needs to give him a kick up the ass to show him he needs to earn his place again.

Again, no idea what to make of us. Thought we turned a corner a little in the week but back to the same rubbish yesterday. I think injuries in the back 4 are really hurting us but we should have more than enough to easily be beating the likes of Palace.
Spurs getting yet another big favouable VAR call after the the strange handball call against us which wasn’t given as a pen.

Pep rather than gracious confronts the Referee like Alex Ferguson. No Difference in any of the Manchester Clubs β Classless!!!!!
Don’t forget Klopp, Nil π He’s one of the worst around for disrespecting referees. Gives every excuse under the sun when Liverpool lose, too. Successful managers are rarely good losers. You can read some of his classics below. “It was too windy” π

I can’t see a top side going for Flick after his Germany spell. Could be worth a gamble for one of the mid level PL clubs. He did a great job at Bayern.

I’m just glad Chelsea exist at the moment because, in comparison, they somehow manage to make my club look like a well managed club. I keep saying it but it’s hard to see where all that money has gone when you look through that Chelsea side.

Fortunately, I was away over the weekend so missed that rubbish on Saturday. Still, putting aside our struggles, you can’t help but admire Brighton and De Zerbi. What he’s doing with that team despite losing his best players again is just incredible. He’s going to be the top target as soon as any big job comes up. Wouldn’t surprise me if Bayern try to get him with them seemingly not convinced by Tuchel. If Ten Hag or Poch continue to struggle, De Zerbi will 100% be the top target.
I’m with Sean re Ange. Let’s see what they’re doing in a year’s time. Very much still in the honeymoon period with the new manager bounce. Not long ago on this very site, Conte was supposedly taking over the world with Spurs π. Even Lampard was exciting Chelsea fans at one point and we all know how that finished.
Really not sure what to say about our lot. Whilst I wasn’t expecting a title challenge (far from it), the start has very much surprised me. The injury/absence list is unfortunate but that’s no excuse for our performances. Brighton were missing players and tore us apart. Our intensity is non existent and I can’t put my finger on what’s gone wrong from last season. Another reason why the whole Ange hysteria is best to not overhype so soon. Things change so quickly in football.

Tough one and I think it depends what criteria you’re using. Age? Already established or only prospects? If it’s just that they’re under a certain age, say 24, then it’s obviously Haaland. Nobody comes close.

I wish we didn’t have to rely on Hojlund so soon Alfie but there’s no other choice. Rashford can’t really play there and Martial is just not someone who can be relied upon.
Onana will make mistakes Sean, but I think there are more pros than cons. He’ll get caught off his line and get caught trying to dribble past attackers and the vultures will be after him. From what I’ve seen though, he’s an incredibly confident guy who will not be phased by it when it happens. We simply had to move on from De Gea.

As Sean says, it’s still so early. Aside from City, nobody has been great consistently. Spurs are very much in a honeymoon period which will wear off. The rest are so inconsistent. I doubt anyone will challenge City so it’s already their title to lose.

One normal day of Manchester United news. That’s all we ask. Sancho after Ten Hag suggesting he might not be performing well enough in training when asked why he wasn’t involved today. Not good. Ten Hag is pretty ruthless with things like this as we’ve seen before. If he freezes him out, he better hope the players pick Ten Hag’s side or he’s got a long season ahead

I don’t mind Richards as him and Keane often have some good debates but he’s not particularly insightful.

Arteta really is a strange individual π. Most annoying manager on the touchline and talks some absolute rubbish at times. This is up there with him playing YNWA over loud speakers to prepare his team for going to Anfield.
Arteta: βI said to Havertz: things are hard at the beginning. When I met my wife, at the beginning it was hard to conquer her. It was hard, I had to try and message her, and go, and goβ. π΄βͺοΈ #AFC

Probably the most lethal striker in Europe after Haaland and Kane Adlab.

If you’re on twitter, give this guy a follow. He does very in depth tactical threads
Manchester United fans should hold their head up high.
United went to the Emirates with an injury-stricken squad which got worse mid-game but still took control away from Arsenal for large periods. Not only that, but they were an inch away from winning via Garnacho.
Patience…

Yes exactly and a lot of teams go man to man now so you absolutely have to have height, hence Havertz at Arsenal and more so Haaland at City. Going long for the big man has come back into fashion again. There were some good Tifo videos about it. Before Hojlund, we completely lacked a physical presence to take advantage of Onana’s excellent ability to pick a pass.

That’s the thing Lukcy. Someone like Osimhen would have probably cost Β£150mil this summer. You’ve then the difficulty now of competition from the Saudi teams. Liverpool have a good attack now but even they’ve spent a ton on money on Nunez who the manager doesn’t seem to know if he trusts or not. I dontthink Cody Gakpo is top class either. A good, steady forward but nothing more.

I think Hojlund will get plenty of service through the middle though Lucky. Fernandes is one of the best chance creators in the league. Shaw delivers a good ball too if he’s allowed to bomb on and is not inverting or filling in at CB.

Yeah thought we deserved a point for sure Lucky. Thought Hojlund looked bright but he has a lot of pressure to carry this season with Martial the only other option up top.
