Pep does really become quite unlikeable at times. He gets so touchy with the press. Carragher rightly calling out him out for his little digs
I think Iβd have probably won one if Liverpool were owned by a nation state, and pushed the rules so far that the PL charged us 115 times!!
I was actually praising Pepβs team after the game on Sunday π€·ββοΈπ https://t.co/EIW3B1AJve

4th December 2023 at 5:16 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 14 – December is here! #211119You City fans are a sensitive bunch aren’t you π. I don’t know what point you’re trying to prove with these weird blog articles. That Utd got favourable decisions when we were at the top. Yeah we probably did. All big clubs do. We’ve never had referees on the club owner’s payroll though. That’s a new one.

4th December 2023 at 1:25 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 14 – December is here! #211106Ok I admit it Bluemoon. We won everything because of Howard Webb π. Your lot have literally got some PL refs on the owner’s payroll so probably not the best debate to get into…

4th December 2023 at 6:27 am in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 14 – December is here! #211096Bluemoon, “City have no luck”. You have to be on the wind up with that! Crazy decision but City have been getting decisions all season. To name a few,the 2 pens against Utd and Chelsea were never pens. Kovacic should have had a red against Arsenal. That’s a red for any other team. City again near the top for penalties awarded after again having the most last season.

3rd December 2023 at 2:12 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 14 – December is here! #211071Can’t disagree with those points Alfie and Sean. An absolute shambles. No desire whatsoever. Can guarantee they’d run their socks off at the weekend if we had a new manager come in this week. They just do it when it suits them. Rashford is a complete mystery to me. This season and one before last he was awful yet last season he looked a world beater.

Can’t disagree Threeps. I actually missed the first goal. Hate these early kickoffs but yeah you’re right. I still think he’ll come good, Onana. Utd seems to bea place where a keeper’s career is made or broken. De Gea came through it, as Sean said. Difficult to say if Onana will or not.

I feel for Onana. Another awful mistake from him which has potentially cost us not only the match but qualification to the next round too. His confidence seemed to have been recovering before last night.

27th November 2023 at 11:10 am in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 13!!! – The Hard Slog Over :-) #211015Yeah I get that Alfie and Sean. My feelings are not whether or not it has an effect. Obviously it does. My feelings (and it’s just a personal opinion) are that a manager is responsible for managing a squad. If a team can’t play a certain way because of a few injuries, then that manager is wholly responsible. When I see people making excuses for managers because they’ve got injuries when they’re facing teams with a fraction of the budget of the big teams, it just bugs me.
Now, granted, a manager who is not long in the job and hasn’t built his own team can’t be held fully responsible for ensuring the players deputising for injured players are to his liking/style. But I feel it’s a manager’s job to make sure no player is that critical to a team’s style that the side fall apart without them. That happened with Liverpool and their injuries in the defence and it’s happening now with Ten Hag. It happened with Chelsea and their fullbacks who were/are always injured (James & Chilwell).

27th November 2023 at 7:37 am in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 13!!! – The Hard Slog Over :-) #211011You already know my feelings on injuries Sean π. I can cut Ten Hag a bit of slack because he’s not been at the club for very long but I just really dislike the injuries excuse. Utd shouldn’t be putting in the performances we have been doing, injuries or not. I get that Martinez is crucial to the build up but it’s entirely on him that the style falls apart without him. Anyway, enough about Utd from me.
Villa the big surprise for me so far. Emery doing a great job. Brighton looked good again. Top 4 so hard to call this season. City, Arsenal and Liverpool look dead certs to me but that last spot could really go to any of Newcastle, Spurs, Villa, Utd, Brighton. Even Chelsea if they get their act together.

27th November 2023 at 7:18 am in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 13!!! – The Hard Slog Over :-) #211009Yeah Sean, Utd exactly the same. Seen loads of Utd fans wanting Ten Hag out. Would never claim otherwise. Kloppout was trending a lot on social media during that poor spell though. Utd exactly the same. I’m not claiming Liverpool are unique in this respect at all. All fans are the same.
Agree about Wolves and said at the time, Utd got lucky there. Not for a minute saying we should have won those games I mentioned. Just saying it’s been a catalogue of close margins all season, both for and against.
Honestly can’t remember the last time Utd beat a top 8 side away from home. Not great at all and Ten Hag will need to change that or he’ll be gone and rightly so.

27th November 2023 at 7:10 am in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 13!!! – The Hard Slog Over :-) #211007Youβve mentioned that a few times but I never saw it. OK maybe one or two idiots on TT but thereβs one who screams for Klopp and/or the βYankeesβ to go after any game weβve dropped points.
Yeah it definitely wasn’t the majority Threeps but with the amount of fans the likes of Liverpool have, you’re always going to get a wide range of opinions. It’s always nigh on impossible to gauge fans opinions amongst such a big fan base but as someone who reads a lot of forums and social media, I saw a lot who were wanting him gone. As usual, it tends to be the noisy minority and fans of a newer generation but Liverpool are no different to any other club in that there will always be a section of fans who crave instant success and failure to provide that results in a lot of moaning.

26th November 2023 at 9:37 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 13!!! – The Hard Slog Over :-) #211001Oh there’s zero risk of anyone getting carried away by this form thing. It’s more just an interesting observation than anything else, that a team who are playing as bad as we’ve been playing have the most points in the league over the last 5 games. A mere 2 points behind a Spurs side people were tipping for a title challenge and praising the manager for such a good start.
As you both say, we’ve not really beaten anyone of note. Things haven’t really gone our way in some of those big games. Had a stonewall pen turned down away at Spurs and Bruno misses a sitter. On another day we go in leading at half time then who knows. Similarly, at Arsenal, the finest of margins sees Garnacho’s late winner chalked off. City get the dodgiest of pens at OT. I’m not saying we go on to win all or any of those but on another day, the luck goes the other way. All I’m bothered about for now is that we’re picking up the points while we’re at this low point. I keep going back to Liverpool having that really awful spell (6 home defeats in a row) when Van Dijk got injured and how they stuck by Klopp despite lots of fans wanting him gone. I really think we have to do the same and give Ten Hag chance to turn it around.

26th November 2023 at 6:57 pm in reply to: Weekend Football – Gameweek 13!!! – The Hard Slog Over :-) #210993Btw, did I hear the presenter on SS1 say United were the form team? Did anyone else hear it? If so, on what is it based?
Erm, form… π. It’s literally that simple. Before the game, Utd have the most points in the last 5 games. Agree with everything about Utd being poor at the moment. Really not sure what’s going on with us this season but we’re picking up the points and that’s all you can ask for when you’re not playing well.
Garnacho, just unreal. Mainoo will be a star. For all the money spent, Utd’s academy again proving to be one of the very best with those 2 stars in the most recent FA youth cup win.
