I think we got a bit giddy with Nunez’s performance against us for Benfica a few seasons back. He’s got something but is so sporadic he can’t be relied upon. An impact player at best for me. We still need to replace Mané’s goals up top. Had we done so, we’d have a good shot at the title this season.

Are strikers just generally harder to find now? Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea and Utd have all spent loads of money and on strikers too, yet they all badly still need strikers.

Well that was absolutely dreadful. The usual one step forward and two back from Utd. Each big performance like the second half against Villa is followed by the usual rubbish. It’s just not good enough and serious questions need asking of Ten Hag.

It’s going to be another City title isn’t it? For all the extra excitement we’ve had thus far, there’s just no side on City’s level. Liverpool seem to be in a vit of a false position for me. Just don’t think they’re very good this season. Arsenal always have this kind of game in them. Villa are obviously going to fall away.

The way Spurs play they could win this 4-2 or lose 6-0. It’ll be fun to watch but it must have you tearing your hair out as a fan at times 😄

How are Brighton not 3-0 up here? Having a field day with Spurs’ high line. It really is impressive what De Zerbi is doing there despite losing all his best players in the summer and even here missing a load of players.

Completely agree Alfie. Utd were the better side all match. Hopefully we’ll cut out those stupid defensive mistakes when Shaw and Martinez are back fully. Badly need a bit of a run now if Ten Hag’s going to survive this dreadful start to the season. That second half at least tells me the players haven’t lost faith in the manager yet.

Hojlund has deserved that. Works so hard and does a lot right but gets very little service. Really pleased he’s finally got off the mark.

I just don’t know why the Utd fans don’t demand something better though. I wouldn’t catch Liverpool if this is what they were still doing. Im not talking about bad results, Im talking about a sense of them going somewhere.
We’ve been through it ourselves and it was horrible but they have always had so much more money to spend than us, until recently.

Mak, Liverpool spent absolutely loads during the 90s and 00s. Outspent Utd. It was once Ferguson left that we started spending crazy money trying to recapture some of that glory. I couldn’t stop watching my team just because they aren’t winning trophies or seem to lack direction. It’s not fun but that’s football. imagine if the only ones who watched their teams were the ones who were successful. That would be the end of football. You say Utd fans don’t demand more. Utd fans have been protesting about the Glazers ever since they came in. Every single week. I assumed everyone was aware of that. What exactly is it you think Utd fans should be doing?

Mak, I don’t mind at all that we were quite passive today. We were open last season with a full strength side and got torn apart and Liverpool had a brilliant home winning streak going. We were never going to go toe to toe with Liverpool with the side we had available and with Ten Hag clinging onto his job. I thought Mainoo was class in the middle. But yeah, intensity is something we’ve lacked all season for whatever reason.

I still feel Liverpool are so reliant on Salah doing well. Nunez and Gakpo aren’t good enough IMO.

Yeah I haven’t seen much of Liverpool this season Mikus but just assumed from the results and the little I’d seen that you were doing well again. Compared to City and Arsenal, I thought Liverpool looked way off it.

Arsenal v Brighton will be an interesting battle on Sunday Nil, as will Brentford v Villa. Saturday should be all straightforward home wins. Reckon I’ll turn ny tv off on Sunday after the earlier games 🙄.
