He really is Sean. Certainly not the only one though.

Keane another good shout Sean. Had absolutely everything. I find he often today gets wrongly labeled as a defensive midfield destroyer type but he really had it all did Keane.

Yeah what I meant with Van Dijk Sean was that IMO he’s had 2 outstanding seasons. The rest have been good but not at the absolute elite standard he’d set previously. It’s staying at that standard for a long time which imo sets apart the greatest of their generation.

Anyone want Henderson who seems to have tired of playing in the Saudi league already? Seemingly he’s willing to reduce his 500k a week salary π

Someone hacked your account CM? Van Dijk the top CB? π . Not a chance for me. He had a good 2 seasons but I don’t think he has anywhere near the longevity as CBs like Terry, Rio, Kompany, Vidic etc. I thought he made a lot of mistakes last season.
Off the top of my head and in no particular order, mine are:
KDB
Salah
Rooney
Henry
Kane/Shearer (tough to choose here)I think all the above have longevity and played their best football in this league

Yeah completely agree they should stay away from Liverpool and Utd games Sean. It’s understandable they’re going to find it hard to be impartial in those games and them trying to hide their bias ruins their otherwise good punditry, as you say.

I tried to pull my arms and not catch him. I felt the contact but I don’t know what else I should do. In the end it was a penalty so there’s no point in arguing with them.
Sean, this is what Dubravka said. While he says he caught him, I don’t think he’s saying it should have been a pen, just that it was called as a pen so why argue with the decision. That’s my interpretation of what he said anyway. For me, it’s the fact he goes down so long after getting caught that just makes it look so bad. There’s no way he can’t stay up there. It’s simulation and all teams do it. It doesn’t make it right though.

Sean, Neville and Carragher are becoming quite biased these days. They both used to be quite good IMO. Carragher completely brushing over the Jota incident yesterday was pretty poor. Neville calling the first pen a dive equally bad.

Coincidently his contract expires the same time as Kloppsβ¦
Remember when they used to make a big thing about Gerrard and Klopp’s contract ending at the same time? π I could see Alonso going to Madrid after Ancelotti.
Gerrard, Rooney and Lampard join Keane and Vieira as yet more absolute top level influential PL players who couldn’t cut it in management. Kompany another who is completely out of his depth.

I don’t think it’s corrupt CM. I just think it’s poor officiating. The VAR team had every chance to ask for it to be looked at. Corruption would require too many people to be in on the fix for it to be feasible imo.

Liverpool recorded almost 8 in expected goals which is insane. A draw would have been very harsh had Newcastle gone on to equalise without the pen. But it’s irrelevant now.
Newcastle must be starting to think about replacing Howe by now. He was always nothing more than a stop gap considering their ambitions. Potter? Conte? Could Zidane be tempted? Would be a big statement, at least in terms of profile.

It was just a poor decision Mak. It happens. Taylor is well known for it. It doesn’t change the fact that Liverpool definitely deserved the 3 points. Though, it could have been an interesting last few mins without that pen.

Cheating scumbag is a bit harsh Mak. Diver, yes. But they’re all at it. If every team sold all their divers, there’d not be many left.

Getting that penalty on a technicality that there was still contact I concede is embarrassing. Why didnβt he stay on his feet and finish it?
That’s exactly it Mikus. Wrighty spot on here
Would rather go down for a penalty than put the ball in an empty net! Seen it all!

Where is the contact though? He goes down ages after the supposed contact. I genuinely can’t see where he touches him though. π

Not only me then
That's never a penalty. Why on earth doesn't Jota just put the ball in the empty net?! π€·ββοΈ

Unless there’s a better angle. The one I just saw on screen looked like there wasn’t even any contact. Very soft pen

Liverpool are actually rock bottom of the big 6 head to head table having not won a single game against any of the traditional big 6 of Utd, City, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs. That, for me will ultimately be their undoing this season. Not having enough in these bigger games.
