You got it Mav π

Well they won the league Mav without Kane and will probably not win it this season for the first time in 12 seasons π. So, fantastic he is, he doesn’t seem to have made them a better team.
The thing is, I’ve nothing at all against Ange. I think he’s doing a decent job. I just find the media hype around him completely over the top.

Kane is brilliant but let’s not forget he’s gone to Bayern who have arguably become a worse side despite his brilliance. Was there an over reliance on him which we’re now seeing repeated under a Bayern side who couldn’t stop winning until he joined?

World’s gone mad π. Spurs have 4 points more than they had at this time last season. He’s doing a good job but it’s definitely a modern phenomenon that I’ll never quite understand to label people almost as messiahs for doing a decent job. Celtic were awful in the CL under him. A record worst ever CL campaign under him when he was there. These days it seems like trophies are almost an after thought. If your team plays a high line and has more passes than the other team, you’ve made it in management π

They’re doing well Mav but brilliant? They’re 5th. They’re still very much riding on the wave of a new manager bounce. It’s far far too early to say he’s going to be the excellent manager the media would have us believe.

I think Ange is another who falls into the category of not having the big club experience Mikus (sorry Chucky). Even including Spurs as a big club, he’s had half a season and is 5th,about what you’d expect from Spurs. He’s almost 60. As a Utd fan, I’d be delighted if Ange was the one chosen, quite frankly π. I think he’s done a decent half a season but I’ve never seen such an over reaction in the media to a good half season.

I say put it to a public vote. My first vote goes to Stevie G and second to Jose.

I did wonder that Chucky. There’s going to be some competition for De Zerbi and Alonso this summer with potentially Barca, Liverpool, Utd, Madrid and Bayern jobs all up for grabs if all the big leagues were to end in the way they currently look like doing. It certainly could make owners/directors a bit more hasty in their decision making to get there first.

Echoing Chucky here. Absolutely no change in my level of love for Liverpool π
Big news though. What Alonso is doing at Leverkusen and him not ruling out the possibility today worries me slightly as I think he could do a great job at Liverpool. Similarly, I’d be gutted if De Zerbi goes there because I think he’s top of the list if Ten Hag goes.

I can’t help but think Potter is waiting around for the call from Ineos in the event Ten Hag doesn’t sort this season out. He’s supposed to be pally with them from previous meetings about one of their other clubs. I hope I’m wrong though as I don’t think Potter is particularly great.
I think where Newcastle are as a club, he’d be a much better fit for them. Their signings so far suggest to me that Mourinho/Conte would not be the type of managers they’d be after. They have so far resisted the urge to bring in ageing superstars at the end of their careers for a bit of star quality, instead focusing on progressive signings for the future. A Conte/Mourinho appointment would be a shift away from that IMO.

It concerned me initially re the charges but the indications are that he is personally in the clear. I’m sure Utd have done their homework here. Going out and bringing in best in class appointments is something Utd have failed massively at in recent years and this, to me, suggests Ineos are taking a step in the right direction

Wow, that’s going back Chucky! What was it you said about the Liverpool fans not letting go of that VAR decision Spurs got at home to Liverpool? π

Besides Chucky, who called Spurs very, very average? Sounds a bit harsh. They’re decent now. Let’s see where they are in a year’s time once the media hype has died down around Ange. I seem to remember a thread about how Spurs were going to take over the world under Conte… If ETH has proved anything at Utd, it’s to not get carried away by a good first season as it can all soon come crashing down.

Poor YooUtdβ¦ I feel sorry for them, I do sincerly hope they get back to where they belong, hopefully they can spend another billion pounds trying to buy their way back to the top because it just isnβt proper, finishing above them year after yearβ¦. etcβ¦ etcβ¦
Can we all be honest here? Forget the score, they were largely out performed, and not for the first time this season, by a team that apparently is very, very average, who also happened to be missing 4/5 first teamersβ¦
Maybe itβs time to realize that YooUtd are now distinctively average, years of miss-management (bought upon by nobody but themselves) have cost them and in the most competitive league in Europe, that relegates them to mid-table with the likes of Chelsea and West Hamβ¦
Maybe if they realized this and wound their necks in a bit and actaully understood their βpositionβ in the grand scheme of things, the sooner they might actually find a way out of it.
Look who’s turned into billy big balls after finishing above Utd in a whopping 2 out of the last 5 seasons! Utd fans know where we’re at Chucky and know we don’t deserve anything without earning it. Spurs fans are some of the biggest moaners around when you don’t win anything despite having last won a trophy 15 years ago.
At least us Utd fans are here to face the music. You’re nowhere to be seen when Spurs lose.
I dont think anyone is feeling sorry for utd banjo chum. The media certainly are not. They are all over eth while poch and even eddie howe get a free ride. Chelsea should be getting a much tougher time.
Most concerning thing for utd is their lack of a style of play. Spurs had all those players missing yet they played the way they always play. They are great to watch but so so open and will continue to concede goals.
Completely agree Sean. ETH rightly getting hammered for spending so much and delivering so little. Spurs remind me very much of Bielsa at Leeds. Entertaining, indeed, but way too open to threaten for any trophies. ETH completely at fault for that yesterday. We had the pace to hurt them in behind but completely lost control of the match.

Frankly, I’d have been embarrassed if McTominay put that last chance way as it would have been so undeserved.

Fair enough Chucky. Clearly, we see it differently and I think you’d be annoyed if that was one of ours.
I just can’t put my finger on what Ten Hag is doing. He can’t be asking them to play like this so he’s either lost them completely or they’re just not capable of doing what he wants. Either way, very worrying times. Top 4 all but gone. Ratcliffe coming in is promising as they will at least demand success on the pitch unlike the Glazers. But that won’t be an overnight transformation and on current evidence, the first big call they have is whether or not to change the manager.

I’ll call my players out when they dive. Can’t stand it. I called Bruno out in the cup game. The more people blindly defend their own players for diving like Udogie did today the more they keep doing it.
Congrats on the point anyway. Deserved more in fairness. We were awful again.

Udogie wasn’t even touched and he was on the floor. Didn’t you see it?

Are you saying that Rashford one was a dive Chucky? Surely not. Was not a free kick for us, for me. He just lost control of the ball. But a dive?!

Poor dive from Udogie there. How’s he not booked for that?
