Did not realise people were already talking about Carragher on this thread.
I agree Ed. He had to apologise, he had no choice.
Sky kept hold of Kirsty Gallacher after her drink driving offence and Nigella Lawson kept her job after being caught doing cocaine. Suspend him for a few weeks without pay and get him back in. It was a isolated incident. Losing him on Monday Night Football alongside Gary Neville would be tragic.

Upton Park was one the most intimidating grounds to go to, same with Highbury and a few others. These new stadiums do not have the same feel to them. When Manchester United played Arsenal away at Highbury and West Ham away at Upton Park, they were 2 grounds that you knew you did well to come away with a draw, never mind a win. The whole atmosphere has changed at these new grounds. Arsenal have failed to challenge since their move to the Emirates and West Ham have gone downhill since moving to the Olympic, could be a coincidence.

Griezmann decided not to join United because his wife did not want to move to the City.

No need to apologise Jim. Nothing malicious was said imo.

HH-
How mamy teams have kept Mane, Firminho and Salah quiet in the same game. When 1 has a poor game, the other 2 turn up, when 2 are kept quiet, 1 of them turns up. Jose had a game plan to keep all 3 quiet and it worked, that is why people are saying Jose outsmarted Klopp.
Saying that I do not understand why Henderson was dropped yesterday. The last time Liverpool were on a poor run West Brom at home in the FA Cup and Swansea league game, he was out injured. As soon as he returns, your back to winning ways. He offers more than what some believe. Protects the back 4 well and dictates play well. Can is more box to box and his covering in the opponent final 3rd is poor. Henderson not spectacular, gets the job done there. He does not get stuck in, but reads the game and intercepts, predicts what the opponent is going to do and gets close to them in order to force them to make a mistake. Such a underrated player imo.

Haha Jim, you claimed Pogba had a “timely” injury and mentioned United playing long ball etc. Yet when United fans bite back you accuse us of not being able to take it. Your fellow fan decides to have a pop at United by resurfacing a thread and yet he we are replying back, and United fans are unable to take it. All these years you have called United media darlings and how they have bought refs, talking about how Manchester is blue etc and a true mancunian club, yet you cannot accept a bit back. Nothing I have said is incorrect in regards to City. Everything you hated about United, your club has become.
End of the day this is part of the game, a bit of banter here and there. United got it when they were on top, it is Citys turn now.

Agree Jim, De Gea is a fine keeper. Ederson is a brilliant distributor, but why isn’t it called hoof ball? De Gea did it twice yesterday, distribute the ball to one of the attacking players and got it spot on twice, yet it is called hoofball. Funny all these years you describe United as media darlings and here you and fellow fans are using media terminology to describe the same thing.
Adlab- Hmmm, why was this thread brought back up again? Who started this thread? Citys best ever season and you seem to spend time focusing on United a fair bit.

Not as bad as offering Kaka £500,000 a week back in 2009 and being rejected. ?
There is a video of Pogba and Jose getting along on the match day thread, so certainly looks like a “timely” being dropped
I hear you Adlab. I mean we have seen the media darlings City getting praise when Ederson kicks the ball out like that. Don’t they call him the best distributor of the ball when he hoofs it up field. But when De Gea does it, it is called hoofball football and route 1. How the goal posts are moved ?

Belgium7 English players in the starting 11. Considering United have not had a proper settled starting 11 because of injuries etc. De Gea, Matic, Pogba, Lukaku have only had a concrete place.
Foden is from Stockport.

As soon as I saw Henderson was not in the starting 11, I genuinely thought United would have this. Henderson and Can are 2 different players. Can likes to drive forward, but his positioning in front of the back is off. Henderson does the simple things well and reads the game well. The first game Henderson is dropped, Liverpool do not look themselves. He is battery of the team, without him the team just do not tick.

Wow I have just been told something interesting. Rashford is the last Manchester born player to score at the Etihad. The last City player who scored at Etihad from Manchester was 12 seasons ago.

Anything MartialArt says will get Shanksy wound up.
I mentioned this earlier. I hope Pogba was not risked for a bragging rights game and that is all it was. If you reach the top 4, the only place worth cheering about is top spot. The other 3 no matter what order have got in to the same competition for the following season.

Wasn’t Poch forced in to playing Kane because Soldado, Adebayor and Dempsey were flops. Cannot been seen giving youth a chance considering that is the case.

Banjo-
For someone who is known not to give a youngster a chance, he is certainly doing that with McTominay. He could have just took with Pogba and Matc, yet since the turn of the year has played all 3 most games. He could have gone out and spent 100m on a new midfielder after Fellaini injury, but opted to stick by McTominay. McTominay has played 17 times since October and has started the last 6 games. Say what you like about Jose, he certainly has given him a chance to prove himself.

McTominay started against Chelsea and Palace. That is with a fully fit midfield of Pogba and Matic.

City are linked to Lemar according to reports today, looking to hijack the deal from Liveprool by offering a bigger pay package. Wonder where that will leave Foden in the pecking order considering he has the 2 Silvas, De Bruyne, Sane and Sterling to compete with too.
Anyway overall a good game and tactics by Jose. Kept Liverpool quiet which is something teams do not do often. Bailly had a bit of rust with that own goal, but boy did we miss him the last few months. Nice of Jose to throw in youngsters in the deep end, Pep would have ended up putting in a 70m bid for a player if one of his players was out injured short term.

Could not complete yesterdays training session because he picked up a injury and was not at Lowry. Going to have a late fitness test. Hope they do not risk him for a bragging rights game.

Looking at Adlabs list of players missing. The starting 11 against Basel had 9 Pep signings, yet the 9 players missing from the side had 2 Pep signings.
