If DeJong watched the last two matches you have to wonder why we would want to join Utd? One player is not going to change this team. Like ETH he would need a new supporting cast as well. Clearly the squad cannot play the system the Manager wants but that is more like the players are not good enough not so much the Managers fault, then he must have known this from the start

For my daughters sake I hope they improve cannot stand all the crying!!!!

Chuky…on that basis…you are well ahead of us and you do not have underlying problem if we ever called for a “call to arms” we would have more dissenters than recruits plus people saying it is against there human rights…but let everyone else defend them!!!! Our best defence are the Subs, aircraft carriers a sitting target and we do not have a big enough Air Force and people.

Adlab..as I have mentioned before VAR is not the finished article and should not have been introduced until it was. I have no problem with using technology to help the game….when it is fit for purpose

Adlab…I am not concerned how many players any other team have in it, I do know we are the Champions. The team is picked by players I assume so they should have a better insight. However, it is still all about opinion

ED…all Utd need is 2/3 good solid tradesmen, not anymore super stars. I think that is what ETH is after but I would forget DeJong now because after all the jostling the pressure on him will be so great he just would not perform then you would have another expensive failure. Get some solid players in and build from there, you are not going to do it with current squad. I can see occasions of brilliance but no consistency. I could be wrong of course

Ed..I read that Utd have pulled out of the aged Striker…I would like to think it was fan pressure rather than a hopeful sign of common sense by Utd management because I think Utd fans are more than disillusioned with the current regime. I can see the Glaziers selling after they had had a few more million from the coffers though, Where that will come from now, I do not know because China, Russia will be ruled out Doubtful if any further involvement from Middle East with all the uncertainties,,just leaves the USA, I would have said Japan but they have more common sense to invest in EPL wit anyone

Ed…good post . I am still of the opinion that it is technology managed by humans..that is not the way it should work….a half way house. I am not against VAR but the technology needs to be developed further…..then you can do without the human interference from a panel. Then again, being cynical of these things…was it designed for the an industry outside football??????
I believe to make the game better, the Football “Gods” should make a very investment in a Referees school, I mean a big one and uplift the standard significantly. Leave VAR to goalie decisions only…let the game flow better. I would also get rid of the Yellow card and make a “sin bin” for 10 minutes. Any Arguments with Ref a straight RED…..I know…I am an old codger but that is my opinion…PS…a special message for goalkeepers….when you catch the ball in the air…stay on your feet and not dive to the ground, hug and kiss the ball and waste minutes…..
An article in the paper yesterday made the comment that fans are being cheated out of watching football because of so much time waiting by a considerable amount, now, if you are paying a high price for a season ticket you have to wonder …is this value for money…Ladies nexcluded…they always give value for money

ED…I think Utd will stay with ETH, let him try and build his team, and back him\.Poch…everyone says he will be next at Utd but I think he will view City has his next step if Pep goes, which I hope he does not…I want 10 years from Pep!!!

Adlai…I may have guessed that but football history as no value for me, only the next game matters, that is why I get over defeats easily….a lot of practise with City!!!!! Halifax and Shrewsbury still give me cold shivers though!!!!!

Nil…City do not make the fixture list and I do not believe there is any major difference between any of the teams wishing to go top. You can only play one match at a time so the next one is the important one not games ahead of you no matter who it is. This is the EPL, there are no easy games, ask Mr Klopp

Nike…City do not have to tune to Haarland, he will just find a way to capitalise on the opportunities that are created for him by KDB, Gungdogan Bernado Grealish and Foden..they are the suppliers he just needs to finish. I liked Sterling/Jesus a lot but they squandered much more than they scored. It is too early to say how the will go over the season in all competitions including International…we have to wait.We must also not forget, that over the seasons City have produced teams with multi position scorers and that has always been vital in Pep plan, not just one player. I really do hope Haarland scores a lot, a unique player for so young an age As witnessed to day, City have not changed there game plan but now have a Talisman up front big, strong and athletic, previously we have always had small players up front. Corners were a wasted effort mostly as set pieces because of our lack of height but we did OK when ball was on the ground. I think we must be a team with a no heading rule!!!!!!!

Ed and Nine…well all I can say is to the teams who you think of no chance…why bother…think positive. I’m sure Messrs Tuchel, Arteta, Ten Haag conte etc are or should not be thinking we are also rans and if the players think that, why are they picking up a pay packet? We have a difference of opinion here on how to view the season ahead but to me, there are more teams in the chase for the title, City are only one of them. What happened in recent years is History and we start again, that is the same for every team, that is what I am sticking to. History has no value next game

Sean…even Richards thinks Liverpool will get it this season!!! As for New…he will change his mind next week!!!!!!!! Whatever, I just hope it is a good season for football but with the disruptions coming up I think it will turn out a real mess for most part. How can any Manager plan for such a crowded fixture list, I can see some huge upsets
