Utd fans protesting. If 3Pts are given to Liverpool, OK that a decision that has been made, however, if the protest continue in subsequent matches do all teams get 3 pts????

Adlab… I agree, Barca, is a strange game to have, then again. it will not be a stressful game and Pep will use it for players who have not had minutes yet including young players and try and work to a rhythm irrespective of the score, Barca will win it. They travel by Private jet so no hassle there. Probably a little better than a normal training week. The only downside I see is a possible injury to somebody but that is the same every week and we have to start gettinging used to 2 games a week now

I am already getting “jitters” over my predicted score. I can see Liverpool scoring two, then I think where is Utd two coming from? It would help if Fernandez and Ronaldo (if he is playing!!) put shooting boots on. It should be an eventful game though

Adlab… Casemiro is a very good player, for the money and at his age for EPL at CB is a question to be answered much like Varrane but on the whole I think he is worth the risk for Utd and certainly better than they have got. Can they afford it…they always afford what they want

The edge appears to be with Liverpools attacking capabilities, against my better judgement I will go for 2-2 since I am hopeless at predicting scores, after all, there are always surprises

ED…as A PS…..I am withdrawing from this conversation because I just do not like talking about Human rights, Wokeism, Diversity, etc etc. it is just too depressing. I respect people who stand up for believes but when it gets overheated and irrational it all goes to far.We all have our views

ED…the Guardian stopped being a paper when it left Manchester and dropped Manchester from its name, moved to London . As to the human rights issues, like I have said before, we, as a nation have issues also. This does not make it right of course but it is totally unrealistic to ask Pep, an individual just like you or I can have any effect. The whole thing is now highly politicised and can do more harm to football unless it is toned down. I understand the Guardian and others would like to keep the subject going to give them headlines.I supported City when they were bankrupt and well remember Utd fans, including some of my own family mocking me relentlessly . Human rights will respond to political pressures not football clubs fans but be careful not enhance individual cases without knowing everything about it. Saudi is not like the UK where anyone can come in and feel they can do what they want to our culture, they have laws which they apply, so, if you go there you had better be aware of them. I would not like it myself but then I choose not to go

Mikus..Peter Swales was a City fan but did not have enough expertise to run the club. He made many statements that City fans never believed. We had the Mercer/Allison era when things could have gone differently but Joe was moved on and Allison was not good enough to carry on without him. I also think any Manager must have a good support team, City , Liverpool have it. I think Newcastle will get along with Chelsea but no Manager can do it on his own that is why I referred to Mercer/Allison era…maybe more so to day.

ED…there is one sunny spot for Utd…you cannot keep them out of the headlines!!!! The Utd Press Dept must be delighted and I suspect the Glaziers have a smile on there faces

ED..I am sure there would be more than a few Utd fans who would be comfortable with a “City type” ownership, providing it was as well managed as we are. I think Newcastle will also build ain a similar pattern. In principle , there is no difference in any such State ownership and Billionair’s, Football to day is only about money. I there, with respect, will always differ from you on this but as you say, it is all about opinion

Ed..as to questionable regime, we need to look at our own record as well. We are still being accountable by people, organisations and countries for past demeanours if you agree with them or not. Stones and glass houses come to mind.I am proud of my countries achievements in history but also feel ashamed at some of the things we have done, we have done more than others to progress the world but our time has past as a major player. If City owners had decided on Utd instead of City we would not be having this conversation and you know it

Lucky/Mikus…what I find difficult to understand is that at the time of the Glaziers buy out, I do not think Utd were in any debt, ED. will correct me if I am wrong, now, they are 500 million in debt..which is real money. I just fail to understand why somebody would buy debt, service themselves, put money in for Utd day to day expenses including new players….there is no short term fix here. However, if somebody took a longer term view say 10 years and could structure finances better it maybe possible In these uncertain days that would be a brave move for even a Billionaire Also, at the back of this, do the Glaziers really want to loose control, selling minority shares will never be a problem…how about fans getting more???? My thoughts on this is, if the Glaziers had put in a half decent structure and gave the Managers the responsibility of players that would be most of problems solved but there are just too many “cooks” and some with a non football brain running the club. It will be interesting to see how this works out but chasing the market for players at this late stage does not look good.

Hightown…thanks for reminding my fadeing memory. Stubbins was a Liverpool player but I never saw him in the red shirt, I watched him in Black and White, after the war. My memory is not as good as it was but I do remember Billy Liddle tormenting us! A great winger.!Almost as good as Tom Finney!!!!

Mikus…I go along with the “evolution of the game” principle as it happens to most teams. Fans cling on to there period of dominance, Liverpool, Utd, Arsenal, Chelsea and Spurs for a time. At the time everybody thought this dominace would last forever, of course, it never does and in my opinion, no bad thing. City have it at the moment, at some point point this will change and another will “Pop” up. Newcastle maybe, My soft spot for Everton who I remember well when they had a fantastic team possibly revive themselves. If I look at the tables now, all leagues, find teams like Sunderland, Blackpool, Preston and more…they were class acts and then think how did they get where they are to day? I know the dynamics of Finance now plays a big part to day but it was still relative long ago. There was also less player imports or I should say virtually none. Players thought twice before leaving unless you were a big star like Stanley Matthews to Tommy Lawton
I do remember a buzz about a player called Frank Soo of Stoke City and Roboleda at Newcastle who even had an AMERICAN footballer called Albert Stubbins I think;;;I wonder about that, an American called Albert!!!The point of this ramble though Mikus is…the game evolves, players come and go and teams have ups and downs and always will. The reason why I cannot get emotional about a football team to that extent, love watching it happen but after 90 minutes it is over until the next game. For some fans though…the team is there life..and I can understand that as well

Let us not forget about this match…Crystal Palace are not a bad team…they have beaten us at home and PV is making them very difficult to play against. We play them soon I think, so they will now fancy there chances again now. Nunez was daft but I would not make a big thing of it, Liverpool have plenty up front to give any team the jitters. I also think Diaz will be more potent than Nunez

Thanks ED but have you told the same line to Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs? Sorry, left Utd out for the moment!!!!!! Agree, next week. is a BIG game, I really do not know how to describe Utd’s situation at moment, I do not know who is in charge or have they got to many in charge??? being a Mancunian I hope Utd do not loose but Liverpool will be to good for them I think and they will be organised. ETH, first, has to stop the leaking defence with a gameplay
City I think will struggle with the smaller squad at some stage but some of the Academy players are capable of stepping up to fill in. It is up to others to take advantage then because we will keep trying

I am a great supporter of the Women’s game but they have taken the wrong move being “conned” by media questions on Sourness. It was a clear as could be that the remarks were on the MEN’S game
As the saying goes…Look before you leap….better still think before you comment to media_____________________________

Last week performance continued. Good to see the young lad on the pitch for a short spell, did OK as well. Laporte may have to fight to get his place back now. Haarland kept 3 defenders busy, he does not have to score every game if he can do that, others will benefit

Rover..re Haarland…like I said previously. Bournmouth must have had 2/3 watching him…that leaves spaces for our midfielders …who did there job…so did Harland. He is just settling in, I am not a believer in the statistical game..just look at results…that is the only one that matters…win or loose
