The world has gone Woke, people must have nothing better to do than to delve into other peoples past no matter what the circumstances and yet in the same week we are going to let a rapist and murderer free, feel sorry for the family if the victim. As to cricket, you are right, a real lack of character Walcott, Weekes Sobers Close,Edrich, Washbrook, Statham Truman Boycott. I could go on and on. It is now reported that there are thousands of CHILDREN hooked on betting. We are so close, if not there, to match fixing on an industrial scale The likes of the ECB , FA, UEFA, FiFa are powerless except for calling yet another meeting.

Adlab…I watched Sancho when he was with City Academy, he was very talented, at the time it was difficult to break in to the City squad with what we had and felt a move was right, his choice. He is good though, not sure how he would perform in EPL but think he should be OK. The interesting thing is listening the Chairmans views recently on the Academy future stars he indicated he expects a few break throughs this season but other will find it better to move but thinks the grounding and experience of being at the club should do well for them, in other words, some will, some will not make it. The investment is worth it for the few that do because they will be future stars and save us millions. I have my favourites already in view

Ed…you never fail to amaze me…season not started and you have thrown towel in…does not matter who we get, or not….City will be beatable next season just like they have been. Yes, we will be strong but the season is long and nobody is guaranteed anything before they kick off. I expect a Utd fan to be positive and believe they can win the league, same for others
I think we played 61 out of 62 possible games last season to get anywhere near that would be an achievement I am hoping for a very competitive season, maybe a top 8 emerging this time? I look at the season after 10 games, then again at second week in January and then the final month. anything in between is a yo-yo. City were down to 14 I think at one stage, Spurs actually on top as were other teams for spells, we need more of that
All a bit of fun though_____________________________

The current cricket generation in the UK is brought up on crash, bang, wallop cricket, no such thing as building a score or for a Bowler to find a steady rhythm . I cannot see any return to 5 day test cricket and all that means, that is what I miss. I can live with local league cricket, I played that actively for many years because we were all working lads and it was a game we loved but County and Test cricket was another level and in my opinion it has been taken away from us. I accept I am probably a minority view now but grounds were full when it was played 40/50/60s maybe not for 5 days but certainly over half depending on how the match was going. The game is gripped by TV and Betting Companies just like football and all they want is a TV spectacle with side bets. It will be interesting to see just how many shirts will have Betting companies on in the Euros or start of next season. I would not want any of my children/grandchildren to wear one, however that is a side issue. Nil, I hope I have answered your question and it is only my opinion

Nil…like I said before we have NO test batsmen. Some of the shots they have been playing I would not have put them in our village team. We need some character in the team

Foxy…I think yo are right in one sense…LUCK….does play a part with Managers and clubs. If I look back over the different eras of football I have watched there has always been a good slice of it. Sunderland and Newcastle were the big spenders then with strong managers, even Hull City had a short period of glory in the late 40s/early 50s from memory. I take the view when a new Manager appears, whatever the team, he knows what he is undertaking and so has to get on with what he has and allowed to spend. The timeing of this is crucial and that is where the club rather than the Manager has to take responsibility , sometimes it works, sometimes not.All this and despite the media clamour for sacking it is not a hanging offence to loose!!!!!! learn from it and move on, Two great managers who did this was Busby and Mercer with there player management

Sean, you can say I was not pleased when I saw the team for Final, doomed from start but then again pep will always be a better Manager than me and sometimes you have to accept mistakes. Pep though still believes he picked the right team, the result or performance did not back him up but he will still get more right than wrong so will go along with that thought
A view from one City fan

He has done remarkably well Nine but I just wish they would acknowledge what others have done without winning anything but keeping there team alive, to me, this is a big achievement as well and takes some doing

PS… I should have said……”I would NOT argue against Tuchel over a short season for him……”

Mikus. different ways of looking at it I suppose. I would argue against Tuchel over a short season for him but for consistency it is hard to look beyond Pep. I would love to give it to somebody like Dyche though, he has done a great job for Burnley over the years

Not so sure about Cancello, although he was brilliant in some of the games, not much problem with rest, thought Foden may just have sneaked in but then a case could be made for Mount, England are lucky having these two.

Nine…he has just done Pt3. talks about Womens football, Academy, ( he states they have identified 2/3 Academy players who will step up next season) City global strategy and investment future. He has just about covered every aspect of City including one fan question who stated some parts of the Etihad were looking a bit scruffy now. Not sure where that maybe, I have never noticed anything. However, future investment will be made on facilities

Foxy….with respect..I do not think Kane is right for City. Haarland has youth on his side and looks fit enough to go a season. If City do get Kane it will be a P/e deal and that, to me, depends on who is part of that. I still think City will go for a less well known player and develop Delap who is waiting to be called up.. I would be dissapointed if we got Kane because I think there are better options to fit Peps collective team However, I am only a fan and it is impossible to second guess Pep

Surrey Blue….I am much the same as you. The Euro’s do not interest me at all, I do like my cricket but the demise of Test standard 5 day matches has diminished that as well. Golf…OK I can watch that, somebody always makes mistakes and a winner always appears out of nowhere…that is the nature of golf to day. F1…Predictable and almost boring . I spent 2 yrs on F1 circuits, in the late 60s….they actually raced then….”nuff said”

Nine…go to the City site and listen to our Chairmans interview…two parts, 1&2. he discusses Augerro, ESL. mistakes responsibilities what the hopes are for the future. I just wonder how many Chairman go to so much trouble to explain to fans. It is really interesting to listen to

Nine..more wise words from our Chairman. You should listen to his end of season review which he does every year. He is clearly an astute person, no histrionics, no blame but a determination to do better. Nobody is bigger than the club and if you do not like it the exit door is left open. Available funding or not he always supports the Manager, players and staff

Nine..we may not always agree but we will never fall out over a football subject. It is not limited attacking but just that whoever they were did not do enough. As to a goalscorer. well you do not want to become a Harry Kane team. It did not get Spurs as a challenger. I do not like the idea of a one man show in the team, I think Tuchel is more like Pep and thinks collective. In saying your forwards did not do enough is not to say they cannot improve next season under Tuchel

It should be an interesting series Nil.. We have lost our way in real Test match cricket, too many batters out to 1 day shots and too many Bowlers never have a plan to bowl for the stumps rather than boundary catches
