Mikus..I did not really answer your question.. Grealish, we paid too much, he is a good player and young and Pep will improve him or he will go. Bernado is not the same type of player, so I do not see a direct conflict…Grealish and Foden. I do, but Grealish more flexible than Foden. Foden is best at No 10, the old inside left. Harmony…I do not think that will be a problem….you follow Peps collective plan or you do not, play as a team not an individual, that is what Peps game is about, you have to fit in and best you understand that before signing, none of this we
“we joined City to win medals” rubbish. Peps message is you are in the team to win a game, any game. You also have to win a lot of games and be consistent before you get a medal. That is the real world. No matter how much team spends and who they spend it on, the game has to be won, you cannot win every time but I just hope we do not play badly or not try, seen too much of that

Mikus…I think players mind set is changing, it had to, they know from the outset what they sign into, rotation is the “norm” now and they have to be ready when called if they do not perform, they are “on the way out list”. It is an ug. If they do not like it they are in the wrong club. Few guaranteed spots in teams now at the top. Future teams will see fewer long term players, players will move on a regular basis…contracts will be flexible , mind you, I never thought they were any use anyway. Spurs/Kane a typicall scoria, Yes Spurs hold the aces but what is the actual worth? A player who wants to leave and a player who’s valuation will drop like a stone
I cannot see any winners. It is an ugly side of football but with us now and forever…..one thing for sure..fans will be paying more, at the gate or through TV….I feel more attracted now to lower league games the way football is going_____________________________

Nine…yes I would like a striker as well…just not Kane…I would have preferred Ings over Kane but too late now and still think a younger fitter guy is made for that role with what support he will have. I am a realist though and if Pep really wants Kane, I wonder id he does, he will get him but I am not going back on what I said from the start,,,the risk is too high at this price level on what he may potentially offer over a season. I am not anti Kane…he is a very good striker but I do not see him fitting City style of play and we will not alter that to fit one player

Mikus and Mak, Bernado…Pep likes flexabilty, Bernado is Mr Flexability, I would say most City fans want him but it is clear he is unsettled by events, understandable. Prefer Mahrez or Sterling to go from the attackers. Mendy and Laporte from the defenders. that should give us a bob or two
Do we want both? I bow to Peps greater wisdom but I think it a risk not worth taking. I would have preferred a younger player, less prone to injury. Has the Augerro history told us anything?
Mak. I think Liverpool are well in with a shout because if Klopp does change his style and goes for solid results I do not see why they could not be Champions again. City will rely on total attacking and ball possession, we know that now, live or die by it, which always give the opposing team chances. I do think Klopp does need to change though, Pep understood that and that is how we bounced back. This season will be exciting I think, everybody beating everybody
As to the crazy odds…City are a beatable side and name any game you want to name, but if they are allowed to get in there stride, they will win. We lost a number of games because we did not start right, Home or away but pulled through. The players on the pitch only works if the collective game is understood and applied…that is Peps ethos. he is not infallible but the closest anyone gets in the EPL. Play well City, win or loose…no draws please.

Mak. like you I am looking forward to this season, just sad I will not be in my usual seat, however I plan on going to the odd game. It has the making of a good season with , in my opinion, will have 6 teams competing at the top but the hard games will be against the mid and lower table teams

I still think most are still over estimating City, We do not have the largest squad but admit the quality is still there but we are open to injuries like any other team but we have multi role players that help as well. This is why I do not like the idea of Bernado going anywhere, he is so useful at both ens of the pitch. Looking from afar, it looks like Pep has a different game plan for next season, the one thing that will remain the same is possession of the ball, at the moment I would guess at 3-4-3. I am not bothered about Kane, I believe we would do OK without him and keep money in the Bank or wait for better things to appear.

Nine, you surprised me with that $900 million, I thought it would have been higher than that….or was that just Messi shirt sales!!!

Mak…I agree..there are well run clubs but they are few and far between. I believe City are a well run club but at some point they will sell, so will Utd and Liverpool. I can see Chinese, Indian and more Middle eastern countries having more than a passing interest. Everything moves on, not always for the better at times. Oddly, for some reason I cannot explain, I do not think RA at Chelsea will move on. All guesswork on my part. Covid is probably the best excuse available but you have to wonder in the years of making profit a rainy day fund was not on the agenda. Pre Covid….clubs have gone broke and that was getting to become a real danger point for many others. However, this opens up a wider subject of how we support smaller clubs through bad times, I am all for that but due diligence has to be strictly enforced, I would not like to see money still going into Directors pockets until viability was assured
I have no answers only suggestions but the state of the game is a concern in the UK, we have a good format that needs better guidance_____________________________

Mak, I will just add, La Liga will be in a very sorry way if Barca and RM are tied down

Nine…I do remember the bus trips and players on buses very well but late 40s
City had two club houses attached to the ground, Alex Herd had one, he could go out of his back door and was inside the ground!!! He was lucky.
As to the transfer levels we are out now, it is only a matter of time until we see a quarter million player. I have witnessed coming through the first £10K player then 15, then 20 etc etc the arguments on the premise never change.
I find it sad, in comparison to what is happening in the world outside but then we are all driven by TV,Celebs, under achieving politicians, sponsors and agents it is the world that has gone daft. I suppose it will all end up as the same situation as Barca are in because this level of debt carrying is not sustainable. Some may claim that debt is OK as long as it is serviceable, that is bunkum because debt increases faster than sales once it gets to the higher levels and worth is only what somebody is prepared to pay_____________________________

Not one for predictions, at least 6 teams have a chance. Interesting that Pep has announced the PL is his priority NOT the CL. That should make you City predictors happy…not for me, I am a proper Jonah, in fact I blame our defeat to Leicester because I did not play Blue Moon on my keyboards and wear my City T shirt before the game, such is life when you have to worry about such thinks!!!!!!

I do not understand why Messi is being seen as the “baddie”. It is Barca management at fault, Mr Laporte has already stated this publicly, not Messi who would rather be at Barca then anywhere else and his views earlier only was because of the previous bad management. this has nothing to do with football as such and to me is still a great player and will be for next couple of seasons. It will not be at City though and Pep knew this long ago
It is typical now though the way football has degenerated. It would be nice if there was a £10k cap on transfers, team shirts at £10 and admission charges capped at £5……there you go…I am in dreamland again_____________________________

Nine…re Messi…have had a re think about this……Barca cannot afford to be without Messi and someway, always a way for Barca and RM some kind of deal will be done/ maybe even Messi taking a big stake in the club…Just a thought
On Kane…think City will go for Martinez or Haarland (and exclude agent!!)
Just another thought but we will all know soon enough now_____________________________

8th August 2021 at 7:52 pm in reply to: FA Community Shield 2021- Leicester V Man City – Saturday 17:15 ITV 1 #182426Decent game, competitive at least. Sorry for Ake who had a very good match up to the 87th minute . We move on, hopefully a stronger team next week. The young lads did OK but easily bundled off the ball be experienced players, they will learn. It will get easier for Gungdoghan when he has KDB,, Sterling Foden around him, our front three no match for Leicester defence and it is not just about a striker.Well done Leicester

6th August 2021 at 9:59 pm in reply to: FA Community Shield 2021- Leicester V Man City – Saturday 17:15 ITV 1 #182364I think will play youngsters again, they did well in pre season but Wembley maybe just too much and a 45 minute run will do. Rodrigo, Ederson Walker Jesus, Sterling Stones Foden have not had any pre season games so do not expect to see a lot of them. Anybody game, I am sure Pep will want to win it

One of my favourite players at City is Bernado Silva, always give 100% plus but he is likely to move on…I will be sad about that but I think pep got the best out of him and he will be a star in another team. I also believe Pep has a different game plan for next season and he will change Grealish as a player hopefully for the better but never a guarantee with these things. We should see some exciting games though, no brick walls for City I feel
