I am not going to get unduly concerned about game 1. What is more of a concern is we have lost the last three games. 1-0 , forget the pre season games. This is not so much a defensive problem any more though although any team with the full backs we are using is a target for the opposition. We are missing David Silva more than ever. Gungdogan is being asked to do too much and Fernandinho is doing heroics for his age but cannot be used much more before resting. I welcome Grealish, not for the amount we paid but he brings something different up front. In some way, we are not using the same style of play we had, less about a striker because our recent history tell us we score from many positions over a few years not just last year. However that is not happening now and the loss of Silva is more pronounced, he always made the ball move forward so other players had to keep up. I am expecting KDB and Foden to change this for us in the coming weeks Sterling and Mahrez need to step up a few gears or be sold. I think we are well short of being Champions again and that is not based on 1 game, the squad we have is ageing and the youngsters not ready, apart from Foden.

CHUKY….what did I tell you…I thought it would have been 2-0 but will have to settle for the single . We have work to do, our passing no where near right but this is only game 1 and we always start poorly so look forward to better form. To day was never going to happen

Ed,,as a PS. once the “minority idiots” was just a club/tribal issue and that was daft enough but now it is laced with Racist, homophobic,anti semitism, and anything else they can add…it needs to be stopped in its tracks. This is no longer a football crowd I was brought up with and if it is a case of moving with the times, as they say, I despair at the lack of logic in the whole thing

Ed.. you are missing the point…with respect.. The minorities are getting more and more and as you say every club has them. You cannot keep saying “just a few” when it can be seen, it is not just a few but a growing number. I am still of the opinion that most “sensible`’ fans will leave the club to the club . There would be nothing to stop these minorities entering shareholding agreements if they ever become available, which I doubt for the bigger UK clubs. The minorities exist because the authorities do nothing to stop them, Police, Club or even transportation and our useless Courts/legal procedures It is a wider issue than football of course but since the hot spots are associated with football that is where it starts and that is where the matter needs addressing with some firm action.

Mak…I have said before, Liverpool are in with a good chance of winning title but the next 9 games will define that, as with others in the same race. I think this will be a good season. We will start with some catching up to do as usual, not expecting anything until KDB and Foden are back

I remember the Munich disaster well, all of Manchester just froze, City and Utd fans mourned together, I lost my idol Frank Swift as well. The idiots of to day not even born and perhaps the their parents as well at that time yet they feel a need for hate like this.

OK guys..I do not like predicting but hope this selection gives you soon food for thought

If City buy Kane we will finish 3rd, maybe 4th then I will see either

Liverpool or Leicester to be top with Chelsea and Utd going for the 2/3 spots

Kane cannot guarantee us anything least of all to keep fit enough, it could be Peps biggest mistake and his downfall at City. I just fail to see what he will do better to improve the team, I am really dismayed by this move if it comes off and I have never felt that way against any other player over the years of watching City EXCEPT for Rodney Marsh and Steve Daley

Team shirts..never bought one…have been over priced for years. My son announced yesterday he will buy the new City shirt and I though I had brought him up sensible in purchasing anything!!!!! Nine, your explanation is right of course but it does not detract from the base manufacturing costs to the fans wallet is indecent. Too many fingers in the pie taking a healthy cut before it gets to the fans and it should not be so. If you look at a well made sports shirt, even better quality outside the club line it will be cheaper and in many cases better quality. I also think some suppliers have got the sizes wrong. City have a team shirt and then another team shirt with the added word “authentic” looking at them they are the same but a big difference in price, I also fail to understand how families can even afford football kits, no matter what club. It must take a big slice of weekly income and probably cost more in a week than a family shop for groceries. Football needs question how they raise money if this is the case and I think it may well be for many families.

Poch should not be under any pressure, it is a one team league now and winning shouldn’t be a problem. Who is in the team maybe though, nice problem to have I suppose. I just wonder what the other French teams view are, at least , here, we have a competitive league. I will be watching with interest

Rangers and Celtic….they are playing a team in a similar league to there own I would not like to see either in the EPL just by the simple fact we have plenty of “Home” clubs wanting a slot and they try really hard for it season on season. We should manage our own leagues and they do the same, I cannot see any benefit to our leagues at all but hard on the teams that would not make it because of any acceptance to the two

Nine….PSG…yes and incredible squad and with Neymar. Mpabbe and Neymar upfront..Ramos at the back, playing in a weak league I would be expected an undefeated season, 5 goals a game does not appear unreasonable, after all, the three of them cannot fail at the same time…can they?. As to the rest of the teams, well they can look forward to a bumper gate, I do not think they will the CL trophy either but we will see how it all pans out.

That bad is it Nine? I am thinking of writing a personal letter to Kane asking him to stay where he is and enjoy the rest of his football life. I think this is what fans hate most..the will he, won’t he scenario…but I have given my reasons why he should not move to City, not that he would take any notice. I am surprised at Pep going for him though.
