Mikus…such a good response. I do think the Journalistic hype and ex Pro’s do not help, Too much self analysis, statistics and tribal rhetoric. I just want it simple and enjoy a game of football, of course, I will support my team and wave my scarf, long ago it would have been a wooden rattle but I guess “elf and safety” would have shut that down quickly. The cultural decay, as you say, is alarming in society to day. Unfortunately we do not have any politicians, any party, strong enough to reverse it….too busy worrying themselves about parties and giving themselves another rise.

Tugay..I am not saying I am right but that would be my way
1. Swearing should not be part of the game to me, particularly from fans, it just heats up a situation and is not family friendly
2. Nobody is making an effort to find a way and there should be, for the good of the game, or we are going to see it get worse. Does anybody actually enjoy it?
4. We all know the majority of the fouls are not serious but when they are the Ref is there to make a judgement. How many times do we see a player “injured” then get up after a rest and sprint away? I do take the point though, there are serious injuries as well and in general I think players on both sides know when this has happened and call a halt. We have to stop the all forms of cheating
5 Why should a team/player benefit from a foul if a player is taken off?
There are plenty of “maybes” in this scenario I was just putting forward a view. I would not say your views are “ridiculous” just your view, which I respect.

Sean, you are perfectly right, players do come and go. I am expecting KDB, Gungdogn, Bernado, Fernandinho, Walker, Laporte and Sterling to go sooner rather than later. I do not fall for journalistic hype or guesswork either, these things that happen to all teams. fans are usually one dimensional, I just wish they could appreciate a game of football by 22 players more, we will not say anything about Refs, assistants or VAR!!!!

Chelsea fans need to keep supporting the team. The new owners whoever that may be will soon know more about the club when they understand the fans empathy with the Blue shirt, if they do not acknowledge that there investment may not be as attractive as they thought

Thanks all, I am in better shape at moment but still have some problems health wise. I will try and contribute a little more. I cannot comment on the International Friendlies because I did not watch or was interested in. That said, our cricketers did nothing to cheer me up, I am sure my frail body but stronger will, would have done better. Only one word describes them…Pathetic.
Adlab, yes different era’s but I am pleased I watched the real footballers, I am sure I have seen some of the current crop, in a play somewhere.
I still do not see where the next Pep/Klopp is coming from, City and Liverpool fans have been fortunate to have these two, they have uplifted the game in England significantly.
I think that plans for next season are under way for some. I do not think Harland is the right answer for City upfront and Kane will not be either. The only reason they would go for them is if it made financial sense because I would prefer someone less high profile plus Rice plus another. Next season we will be without Bernado, Fernandinho, maybe Sterling and/or Jesus…some holes to fill but we do have some youngsters coming through as well who I think will make the grade. This year. I think we will finish. PL-1/2 CL- Semi FA Cup. Winner, I hope, but I am hopeless at predicting these things, have a tendency to think worst scenario. I will be happy, whatever because we have served up some really entertain games, we have done well over recent years and the team will need a re shape for the next few years ahead of Peps departure, I am sure he will have put a good foundation down for whoever follows and City will only go for a Manager that goes with the foundations being created
Well. that is my take on the City future

Nine and Lucky…thank you for your concerns, yes, I have some health problems at the moment which the Doctors are trying to resolve. I have to rest for now with medication. I plan to get through this on the knowledge there are millions worse off than me and I should be so lucky at my old age.
Lucky..you are entitled to your opinion of me but I have to say I am not the condescending person you describe or have ever been or ever will be and I would never lecture anybody on stoicism but as I said, you are entitled to think whatever.
I do appreciate your concerns . For now, I will look in from time to time and see what you are all jabbering on at, I thought a recent post from Mak, just about summed up the Forum. One benefit from taking a back seat for a time is to look at the way we try and change the game without wanting change. Funny old worldI wish all
A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS AND CONSIDERABLY BETTER 2022 FOR ALL YOUR FAMILIES
Best wishes. Brian Blue

My original viewpoint is getting to be distorted and convoluted now.
Lucky…what happened in the past has no bearing on what is happening now. Nine, yes I can remember Chelsea having bad times, not as bad as us though going to Southend, Carlisle and Stockport!!!!!! I was also referring to ALL fans not just Chelsea, even City fans expect too much every game. Every fan wants improvement but they should accept it cannot happen every time. City waste chances by the bucketful so do Chelsea and Liverpool, I would say that is what happens.I think I will stay on my City thread because this subject is clearly sensitive_____________________________

Lucky…it was in no way to be condesensing, I was just putting my opinion of many years of watching football seeing more downs than ups and concluding that fans expect too much at times.City does not come into it
I just do not let football get me down that much but accept others may see it as a way of life.
In my mind Chelsea, City and Liverpool are the best in the country and I would not venture to say who will win the title, that makes sense to me, equally, I would not be that shocked if another team appeared to challenge that_____________________________

Nine…but being a fan, you have to accept the poor, mediocre and brilliant stuff as part of the game. Only one team wins the League, it is a journey for all fans and it can be frustrating, as a City fan, I know all about that. When you look at Chelsea City and Liverpool, they are good teams, well managed and in my mind, very little between them but events do happen that upset the proverbal applecart from time to time. I accept that and move on to the next game knowing if they are as good as I say they are, they will sort it.Smile and it will all pass by!!!!

The new Utd manager should have some effect, after all , they are not playing well at the moment. However just like all Managers who face the trials and tribulations of the Premier league he will also have to lift his own game as well, the question is, from what? He has many admirers so I guess he should produce something but also with Poch still hovering in the background it does not look like a solid appointment. It is big ask of him to produce something this season

Keep calm guys, this was one result, one game not a title changer which can be won by any one of four. It is very tight at the top. City will loose matches , so will Liverpool, Chelsea and (/)
December may start to shape the contenders in a different way, January, certainly will_____________________________

Steve…believe me Burnley is probably the coldest place in the UK, a summers day is when the temperature just gets over 0c. !!!!!! Burnley players are a tough lot though

That was hard work but I think deserved The conditions played a part, so it is credit to all the players they did well. I could not understand why we had two goalkeepers on the bench, my only thought was to bring Steffen on and move Ederson to a striker position!!!!!! Will be pleased when KDB/Foden/Grealish back. Bernado/Gungdogan worked there socks off again
