Jim…I think Mendy will be back in March…just a feeling…a big thing with injuries is the mental side to get well sooner..I think Mendy has this. I also think Delph will be fit, now he has a spot he will not want to give that up. Kompany..sad story but think we have seen and had best of him as a player, hope we find him a job though
Injuries..I just think the game is faster, extra pressure on the knees for twisting and turning at speed. Old days do not compare because full backs were then berated if they got near the half way line and told vocacbly by the fans..GET BACK…well the game has progressed somewhat and I think the better for it. The only downside is stars were really stars then, not projected stars the media make of them

I do not mind Southgate as Manaer but he has little quality to work with. I ask you…Dier and Henderson as World class midfieders…I think not and you will need them to get anywhere.. The effort was there from the team but there was no General, nobody to supply the passes needed to get the forwards going, instead the forwards had to do part of there job as well as threaten up front. I thought Rashford and Sterling worked very hard against very tough defenders but they need help

ED….you are following into the trap of other media “experts” about Augerro. Yes he has an injury record, the latest was not football related or his fault and yet…he consistently scores goals and worries the life out of defenders.
For me, it is about consistency over a number of seasons and Augerro delivers, fit or not

Mc chulkface has made a good point re Cornwall. All this independance talk is fine and I have no problem with it, however, where does it end Does that mean Leeds/Birmingham ?Newcastle/Accrington will seek independance….the in goes to High Street/Market Street etc etc….OK, daft you may say….but where does independance end. I know that in Greater Manchester people , in say Bolton do not consider themselves in any way as Greater Manchester and so it goes on

I hate these International breaks, high risk of injuries/fatigue setting in and for what? I do not know what we are even playing for World Cup or Euro Cup. More wall to wall coverage…it will kill the game eventually because to keep the TV companies happy they will start bending the rules…we will go like American football, not soccer

Nine…absolutely no way of me getting smug or over excited, this is my 73rd season watching them…maybe 74th so I have seen too many comeings and goings, ups and downs, more downs than ups. I have to say though, for the first time in many years I actually look forward to going to a game again, Pep is trying to bring a different culture of playing to the club and I like it. In some ways it reminds me of the Mercer/Allison days. Pep has still to be crowned in the UK but even if we do not make it I would thank him for the effort and not consider he was a loser in the UK. I would rather loose trying this way and entertaining…yes we will loose some along the way but in the grand scheme of life..is it that important?

Nine, one thing we can all agree on is it is far too early to talk of titles,,,that is for the media to justify keeping them employed. You have to wonder if Burnley could do a Leicester as well…all good for football

Nine…I take your points and they are in part, valid. I have always had the view that to days footballers are so well looked after and it should not be beyond them to play two games a week, no matter what the team is. They may miss a little sleep, but that is all. This is a squad game now and I know Chelsea have a good squad. Like I said earlier, I am trying to keep my feet planted, one game at a time. The only thing that makes me feel the Manchester clubs may have the right ingrdients this year is because Chelsea appear to have some internal problems which may affect the team, I could be wrong of course. Arsenal I will discount because they have two of there best players want to leave and they are playing like that also. Tottenham…I am never sure they will sustain the challenge, if Kane injured , they are out of it

I could be wrong on all of this of course, its only an opinion of one person
I should also point out though, last season and the one before we had similar fixture mess, the FA are the culprits pandering to TV demands. Chelsea were indeed behind, this time last season but it has no bearing on what is happening..right now…it is history…no further points for that!!!!

Doc…it is hard to keep feet firmly planted on the ground at the moment. The teams performances have been excellent and Pep is finally getting them to understand. The focus is on the next game…only that. Injuries will happen and we will loose at some point but so will others, I can only see Utd as Challengers because like it or not Jose will play his pragmatic game and do what is necessary and I believe he will do it well. I do not like his style but you cannot deny his focus to get the job done, Pep just does it with style
We will loose matches and still be a joy to watch

We are developing as a team now, playing like a team. We will not score 4/5/6 every game but this 1-0 win , in a way, was more satisfying than a big score win. I am really pleased for Stones who is now becoming the CB we want and Delph for filling in so well. Walker had a good game to day but Sterling continues to frustrate me despite his high work rate.

Jim…much will depend on KDB and Silva to morrow. Fernandinho needs to bottle up the middle, I am not sure about that, Walker will be kept busy defending but I really hope Sane, Jesus and Sterling are on there game. Gungdoghan may well start but I would like to see more of Bernando

Well now we will see just how good we really are or how Pep deals with the losses and plays the right tactical game. I still think we can put a team out for a result, Danilo’s experience should help the defence but I have an awful feeling we will se a sending off which will be sad because both teams have good footballers but there are some players on both sides that are capable of collecting a Red, in which case I hope its 0-0. Without doubby Conte will press our full backs, which , in theory will help Sane/Sterling

Nine…I am always ready to be corrected but do not forget Walker and OX are “transfers” they would have been in London as well!!!!!! I do rate Southgate as a Manager but it does not help his cause when he states he has players who should not be in the squad. I guess injuries may apply here or clubs do not want there players involved. I still cannot believ Kompany and Belgium playing Gibralta…9-0 surey at some point after 3-0 and knowing his falability for injury he should have come off. A nonsense game that has cost him and the Club of his services

Hightown..I think you are spot on. Delph is a good player, LB is not a natural for him but I think he could do a good job there and not let us down
I also think he is better than Dier who is well over rated.. Going to City….no…a good move for him, he knows he has to up his game to keep in the squar and he is doing that at the moment. Drinkwater is good but stuck in a system of playing and do not think he is an International player, likewise Dier. You have to be based in London to get in England team…..that is naughty of me but so often in the past it has been true, It may happen though for Delph because Southgate is running short of players
