The feeling in Manchester was that of total shock. I remember it well and City fans had genuinne grief, not just for Utd players but for “Swifty” and Matt both former City captains. I wish we could have kept that comaradere going instead of the tribal nonsense

Pagan, the point I was trying to make was they, the players, should do the job they are paid to do. This applies to Managers as well and “yes” they get it wrong at times as well but I am sure the Managers at least put the work in. They are not supposed to be “nannies” Takeing one player away should not affect the team ethos no matter how good he is I am not trying to defend Conte but I do think a lot of hysteria is whipped up by the media, Pep had it last year, “he would not survive the PL” etc. A balanced and pragmatic view is required because we, the fans, never know all the story only what we are fed.Your idea has some merit though

Players get very well paid to play and train to the Managers instructions, not if they like it or not.When players decide on Managers future it is a short sighted, misguided decision. managers are there not win popularity contests with players as some of them think they are untouchable. In Chelseas case the links appear to be broken, there is no guarantee the next manager will be the right one either and maybe, just maybe some of the players not pulling there weight will be shown the door sooner than they anticipated. It is a mess but not uniquely Chelseas

I know , on this very subjective matter, that Refs have a problem in the modern game. The clamour for Video I do not think has been thought through. I also see the players themselves have developed this culture of shirt pulling, diving etc to a fine art and this is where the problem is. It is not possible now to reverse this util the standard of refereeng plus theire assistants get better. The only other way is severe bans and fines and I mean severe. I would not want football to be sanitised but if we do not get a grip now it will go worse and then not be worth watching

What I do not understand about Mourinho’s latest comments

“City will win title, City have been lucky”. Has he given up with plenty of games and points. I would not like to think of a City collapse too much but nothing is settled until it is mathamaticaly certain and we are a lot of games away from that point. Utd,Arsenal (twice), Chelsea, Spurs and Basle coming up in February there are no give away’s in that. I would also loose faith in Pep if he had commented like that

2 points dropped but credit to Burnley for playing 4=4=2 and giving us a game When I am listening to the match and Sterling’s name pops up I never expect anything, however, you cannot take away the effort and goals he has actually scored but he needs practise ….in the head…to keep composure at times like this. It is not lack of ability or skill but he needs to be clinical, if he cannot do this he will not be a starter in Peps team next season. It costs us to day but you have to account for his late winning goals as well but Raheem….please improve

I do not believe in the conspiracy theory but I do believe in incompetance of officials, who are just not up to standard in the UK. City players are targeted, no doubt about that that is another reason why we need an enforcer, Barca and Munich had them, the last one we had was the Dutchman.Vierra was also good at this but we had him too late . We had better start training on Rugby pitches for Wigan, watching the W,Ham game the surface looked bobly. Wigan will try and play football though unlike Cardiff.

I watch City Ladies when I can and have to say watching the Ladies play is really good. None of the nonsense of rolling over, arguing with Ref and seldom hold up play when they are down injured There is always a danger that it will develop like the men’s and have prima donnas but I hope that is a long way off. The committment on the pitch by most players is amazing I have this feeling that Neville is takeing this job to fill a gap in his carea, I hope not for the ladies sake because we are building a really good league in the UK which England will benifit from

I just find it hard to believe no other candidates came out of this. Neville may well do a good job, he is inheriting a very good team but questions marks will remain, not just on Neville but the FA as well and we all know how pathetic they are
