I have to modify my original post because I now have lost any respect I had from him playing the Race card against Pep. This is out of order to our Manager and to City F.C who have looked after him, even to the extent of paying his wages for a year when he knew he had little chance of playing at the pace of the team I am sorry he sees the Manager in this light and he may well ponder, with his agent the real reasons why he did not play as much. He will not find another club so generous with his requirements

27th May 2018 at 11:32 am in reply to: *UEFA Champions League Final 2018*Liverpool V Real Madrid – Saturday 26 May 7:45 #22263I feel sad for Liverpool but lessons have to be learned. Teams like RM always have it in there capability to step up a gear. Liverpool have to learn to play without a star player. The players heads went down when they should have been doubling there efforts, however, I know this is not easy but the fact is Liverpool must learn to play without Salah at some games next season or you will be chasing again. As to keepers. I do feel sorry for the guy but they were really schoolboy errors and it cost you The first half was good for you but always had the feeling Liverpool lacked confidence, RM knew this and exploited it. Try again next season lads, the experience will serve you well

Good luck to him, big ask. He neeeds some players. I am also pleased we have Arteta a little longer, I know he will eventually venture into Management somewhere

442, would agree but it comes back to my earlier post..We just do not have a quality midfield or playmaker or anyone to give a spark of something going to happen, in short we are pedestrian at the best and this shows from the defence minded selection but to be honest I just could not name an England squad capable of reaching the semi”s I am not convinced about the Managemet either but accept Southgate must be given a chance. I could accept it more if somebody said, we are building a squad for WC next time, use this for experience, OK but I guess a few other countries will be thinking this way as well

This issue is not so much about playing attractive football but looking what the balance sheet says and because of the financial implications teams will set up not to loose rather than entertain, thta is a fact of football life now I am sorry to say.
What did alarm me was the fact that Hazard on his own but the fear into Englands CB,who will meet again very shortly, plus couple KDB and Hazard against our CBs I think we are in for a torrid time
As good as Liverpool can be I do not think they are the best counter attacking team or they would have won the Premiership and won more games. It is one thing to say it but another to do it, I do hope they beat Real Madrid though_____________________________

NB…we saw this coming the season before, this last season was the reward. Next season..clean slate as far as I am concerned and City will add a couple of class players. If Arteta goes and Innesta arrives I think thia will be a good move, we may even get a few games out of him. Pep now has a new time frame and can build on the squad he has but I still prefer Hart to Bravo as No2, providing Joe works on the game Pep wants from a keeper. I know….it is not going to happen

whoisbeni….I would agree but we just do not have any quality midfieders, same for defenders but at least with them the team tactic will be built around defensive play. Up front is the only glimmer of hope, young players with talent but they need service and a playmaker and we just do not have it

I feel sorry for Joe Hart but it maybe right to think ahead and have the three young keepers. If they get the jitters though, Harts experience would have been better for one of the slots. All have mistakes in them

As a matter of interest, what is the capacity of the new ground? What was the “old ground”

Chuky…I did not bank on last kick goal, we just about deserved it though but I am pleased it did not send Southampton down

The equation is simple. Southampton is all about not to loose Think it wil finish a draw Swansea may well win but will never be enough

For me, Beckham was over rated, he had a speciality and that was it. He certainly would find it difficult to get into any of the top 6 teams now.
If he is still after a knighthood he should have bought Sunderland, then got them back into the Premier. Gary Linacre is of the same ilk. Just imaging Sir gary, Sir David…..I can put forward at least a 100 names who would be more worthy, none of them sports people_____________________________

Chuky pal, I posted this question merely to highlight the only thing that is worth talking about for the last games of the season, like you I think it is more than remote but have been wrong before on such things, I do hope Southampton and Huges stay up because I think they have the better squad and manager and will do better next season. Swansea need to stabilize themselve
