Nine…I fancy Belgium if they can stop Willian and to a lesser extent Neymar Jnr and his antics Thought Willian was outstanding against Brazil and with Jesus doing the Donkey work up front Neymar will always cash in on the efforts of these two and others but I guess they will say it is a team game. The thing I hate most about the theatrics is they do it to felloe professional, in my mind they are cheats

The Spanish brought it on themselves with walking football Isco was the only om the pitch that had any idea of moving the ball, particularly forward. I think City should drop interest in Mahrez and Jorghino and get Isco instead…made for City. Spain past there sell by date

I think the problem had was the Manager, knowing the strengths and weakness of his squad he should have planned better. The only thing he knew was Messi, too much was asked of Messi. An ageing squad was no match for the lively French
The Argentinian keeper was at fault with a couple of the goals as well should have done better but this was more a team failure. Messi is better with good players around him not what this team have served up. Augerro would have been a big help if selected more and I am not saying that as a City fan. In a way, I am pleased our Argentinians are on the way home, more rest to play before we start and they will be focused, Pep will make sure of that_____________________________

Sterling v Rashford….it is a shame we have to compare these young players, they are different in styles formed by Club tactics. I like Rasford because he clearly has talent but he needs to play in a settled position for club and country Sterling is different because he an aggressive non stop player who will always put the effort in, again in a settled role he does score, also misses a lot, With Sterling, you have to accept that or not because I do not think is mode of playing will change in next 2/3/ season, he will then be old enough and experienced to take a calmer approach We have a tendency to rush our youngsters and expect too much from them

For me, we were clueless and classles. A mifield that did not know what game they were playing and two up fron nothing more than chase the ball pony’s. No intelligence. Pickford is not my choice as a No1, Shot stopping alone is not good enough, I thought Cahill,Rose and Stones and delph are the only ones that come out of it with a plus point but it was only just. I cannot accept playing for a draw or a loss. Southgate did get this wrong, we have lost momentum, now need to re build a situation where it heaps more pressure on to beat Columbia and that will not be easy. I can see a lot of shots coming in from there team and lots of follow up, on a keeper that cannot hold a ball
Soth gat has made his mistake, he will learn a lot from it, we should stick with him for at least three years_____________________________

Croatia had the game plan, executed it and never gave up. Argentina abysmal, poor tactics, no support for Messi or Augerro and the the wrong game plane. Two of the best up front men in the world and the coach cannot work out tactics Credit Croatia they fought for everything and Modric was the star of the night

The “minnows” of the tournement have put up a good show. Skill and tactical levels much higher than previous WCs, this has surprised the bigger teams. Unfortunately the “theatre” has also enhanced there game, the refeereeing has not helped and of the games I have watched not seen anybody booked for diving or wrestling. Refs not strong enough, fearing political kick back??? I do not know but for WC it should be better

Keep him for another season at least, If Silva does not play he is the nearest we have in that position in reserve. I think he is a good player. A 50 million bid? Doubt it but unless we have somebody else lined up…forget it

Oz yob…I am a bit like you, just cannot get into it at all. The newer teams appear to have learned about stopping the game by any means rather than play football, which some can do, so, why do they not progress from there instead of trying to play rugby at the same time. It is spoiling the game. As to England, I was not expecting much but they got through by playing a 90 minute game. Panama will be different, we need to be very alert, they are quicker than Tunisia. I would not make any changes, although Ali appears to be injured, I would put Loftus -Cheek in ,Strong lad and capable. I am unsure about Lingard but on his game he fits team well. Sterling, I would keep, I know very well he will miss again and again but he is a threat and he can score goals. The only thing I am not happy about is playing Walker out of position, he cannot play CB, Pep would not use him unless in an emergancy at CB. Henderson played very well, we were sadly lacking in midfield and he just about held it together for us. A young team, they have to learn quicker at this level

Messi did not look interested from the start, dissapointing, should have done better with his skills but appeared not bothered to day Pogba. apart from the goal ineffective. Ronaldo, I have never liked, was amazing, apart from his goals, there was hunger and determination in his play

It confirms more than ever the anti Brit brigade at Fifa and Uefa and where it is easier to get “big bucks from”. I think we will be luchy to get it anytime this century, probably Iceland Phillipines and Malta will get it before us. It is just pathetic, we have the supporter base, stadiums, and infra stucture, apart from railways!! but there maybe, lies the problem, not the railway but they do not have to try to get us. This is another reason I have lost interest in World Cup, which I believe is rigged for the semi stage

I can say, I have not been a Sterling fan, but have to give the guy credit, a prodigious worker, misses a lot but the fact is he is always in a position to get one, that in itself worries defences and his goal record is not bad as made out against others A most frustrating player but he does not hide and will keep trying

I think you have done the right thing Ed, it is a pity because he could put some good post in however some form of action by you was required. This is a problem when a fan takes so much to heart and his fingers race ahead of him/her The Ed is trying to build a good Forum and one of the reasons I left Teamtalk there was no control by the Eds, To have a good Forum you need to moderate on a regulat basis. I also like an Ed that takes part in some discussions although I would not agree with some comments, then, I am not perfect either

Good to see you again Jim, always liked your posts. As for England what they lack is a David Silva or a KDB, te midfield lacks creativity but we do not have a player of that calibre….please do not mention Wilshere, for me, lacks consistency or is a 90 minute player that is forgetting his fitness

If this theory is to be believed then the Liverpool medical team must take some responsibility, they must be trained in such matters. Also, the statement from the USA is very guarded as you would expect because they have not actually stated..this was fact…but a “could have”
