Sean…there has always been a money issue since the year dit. I remember Arsenal spending £10K on a player, forget who it was for but it caused such an outcry. Its the scale now and more teams can pay. Money is never going to go away no matter how you try and restrict it, it will somehow find a way. If it was taken from the British game, clearly what UEFA want, I believe it could well happen but the options of a breakaway comes in, which none of us want but will happen. The American ownership is up to 6 clubs now I think and they are going to have a big say. As “local” fans we will not have much of a say, we can protest but the machinery will move on. All depressing stuff but change is coming like it or not

Sean…the other reason I say that is because UEFA have just announced new financial rules to curb top clubs (What they mean is British clubs) because rules will not apply to BM, RM, Barca etc

Sean…as good as Salah is, I do not think City would move for him, even if they could. Salah will be at Liverpool next season.I think what is going on is to get a good contact for 2/3 years that’s all. Our priorities are a midfielder and LB. If Sterling goes I think Palmer will be moved up and if Gungdogan goes same for McAtee those two lads are as ready as Foden was in my opinion

City have one of the smallest squads, although I think that will be rectified next season with 5 subs allowed. It was interesting to read KDB criticising the up and coming internationals as a waste of time and they are just glorified friendlies, As you say, the demands on players now is becoming excessive, remember, they were talking about winter breaks now that has gone out of the window, so to speak, for the World Cup in some totally unsuitable place but I guess Blatter and Co topped up there pension

Mikus/Nike…I think we are “over fed” with experts who forget the simple logic of this is a game of football and anything can happen, so why are they so “expert” in predicting the unknown?. I guess the answer comes down to “it is an opinion” well that is just like us fans and we are probably as good if not better than them because there bias shows through. Have you also noticed the relapse back into the time when they were playing and clips are shown, for me, I do not want to know what they did but talk about the game they are supposed to talk about, why it should take so long to say the same thing I do not know

Cl designed by UEFA to protect their favourite teams, you do not even have to be a Champion as well. Make the competition shorter and just have Champions whoever that may be, it will also ease up the fixture list and make the competition credible for its name In some ways it would be a better end of season event than the Euros

Nike…do not worry so much about it, game over now, look forward to a new season

We both have some re building to do to maintain the standards we have set, I can see a few leavers at City and probably the same at Liverpool.
I just wish we had got that 100th goal to end the season with but that’s what you get when you have no striker, just 99!!!!!!!!

Nike..it was a sad end..I was a little disappointed in Liverpool to be honest but in saying that RM are certainly a street wise team and did what they had to. I thought Firmino would have been ideal to lead your line against Madrid and he came on too late. Konate was outstanding even overshadowed VD. Mane pick of up front players both Diaz and Salah needed more from them. However, all over now, look forward to next season but the way football is going we are both going to need younger fitter players as well…a squad of them!!!! 5 Subs next season so that will be interesting

Nike..I have mentioned before, little difference between the teams. Injuries played a part for City as well as Liverpool, we do have good back ups though.The difference between Klopp and Pep is little as well but the difference is there and that what counts. I have no problem Klopp being manager of the Year, fully deserved in my opinion, two Cups and a final to come. Just keep focusing on RM and get the win

Sean, maybe pragmatic was the wrong term but Liverpools style is more organised because you have three strikers, We have a plan and I think it is whoever has the ball make sure they do not loose it and when you can, ANYBODY, shoot at goal!!! Well it has worked for two seasons now and we have plundered a lot of goals without a striker but Pep knows he will need another game plan for next season, hence a striker. I do not know if Haarland will be good for us or not but he is young and athletic and gives us some muscle in the box, which we do not have. I do like your Diaz though, think he will have a good season to come. he is the one player from your team I would like in City team,

Nike, Mikus and Sean…we all agree on one thing…there is not much difference between the teams.
I could not disagree with any of your comments, we all have our views but in this case the difference is small. No doubt we shall all be at it again next season. This season has gone now, history, to me, history is nice but no value for the future and will not win the next match

I do hope you guys beat RM, that club is morally bankrupt with all the statements it makes and still trying for Super league, but UEFA will not do anything about it But I want you to win by just being a team from the England and particularly the North west

Mikus that was an interesting comment about “self belief” it is important but you need every player tuned in to it and when they are, it is wonderful to watch, If 1/2 switch off the game plan has gone.

Liverpool have proved my point, they are a great team with a good pragmatic manager who did not have the spending power of City, but that did not matter, it was the management and skill level of the 11 on the pitch that put them there. SO, why did other teams not follow that and make it more competitive? It is not always about money, after all City and Liverpool could only put out 22players, nobody can convince me there were not hundreds of players, skilful, that need a plan and purpose Plus some teams had plenty of money and chose not to spend or spend poorly. That is not the fault of City or Liverpool. It could also be pointed out that Liverpool have bought some brilliant players at a good price, City have wasted money on some poor players and that negates itself on the pitch where it matters. I think the only difference between Liverpool and City is that City always take the risk, does not always pay off whereby Liverpool, more like there Manager take a Pragmatic approach with there Press game. Both have merits, both have faults, whatever…it made for an exciting finale. I do not want the EPL to be dominated by any one team, be it City, Liverpool or anybody else and I would like to see the Sheffield clubs back, Sunderland and others
The new Utd manager makes an interesting comment saying,,,the end of an era…targeting Pep and Jurgen. but he fails to say how he is going to do it. There are good managers in the League, a League different to what his experience is based on, so we will have to see how that develops.He has to be given time and benefit of time but they need to get off to a flyer next season. or……
I do fear the game will change though and it will not be in the fans interest. TV have run there format now, proofed a point to themselves and they will make further changes. Fifa/Uefa, FA are all inept to do much about it either
