I remember Pep saying Messi will not be coming to City at the beginning of last season, for me, end of story

David Silva is a pleasure to watch, always thinking and gifted at passing the ball into spaces nobody else has seen. You can mark him tightly but you will not do it for 90 minutes, he will always find a space to do damage. One of the few players I enjoy watching football for

Klopp is a good Manager and a good fit for Liverpool, eventually, he will win something because he is bringing back that Liverpool way which previous managers did not although I did like Houllier and Benitez. Joe fagan was my favourite but only because he was an ex City stalwart, he did not have a bad record. WE have 2/3 years before Pep goes I think and I also think the next Manager is lined up.City are good now at planning ahead. I think Pochinetti will go back to Europe for a spell, I like his style but the squad needs a re jig to make progress
All about opinion and that is mine._____________________________

Hightown…just keep away from the “IFS” it is the next match that counts for any team. I am sure you are a great supporter and I enjoy reading your posts, we all have opinions, for myself I have never believed or relied on the past the “IFS” or what might have been.. Last season is over, we are on a clean slate lets all enjoy the future battles. We both have very tough games after the break Burnley and Huddersfield are noy as bad as there position suggest and they will be ready

Guys, Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Spurs will all be there at the finish, maybe Utd also if they get themselves sorted, there is no certainty in this. We have a very good squad but all it takes is a few injuries, Ref’s decisions going wrong, or just plain off colour, points will be dropped at some point City are wonderful to watch, even sometimes when they are not playing that well but by no means unbeatable
What the league needs is for another team to get in the mix, maybe Everton can do it. It would be good for top 10 to be scapping for it rather than just top4 imo_____________________________

Hightown…you have every right to feel optimism my only point was that if you quote any selection of games from any period of the season it can always be countered by another, that is the reason I do not get wrapped up in statistics, they are there for the media to fluant to supposedly wet our appetite for more. As mentioned the only thing that matters is the next match, not the last ones and the result. I do see where you are coming from but be careful not to convince yourself too much. City play Burnley next, to me this will be as tough as the Liverpool game.
On the Liverpool/City game I was sure it would be 1-1- or 2-2 before the kick off_____________________________

Hightown that is the beauty of mathamatics and statistics….you can move the scale wherever you want and make a case. We all tend to read too much into these things instead of looking forward to the next game. I believe there are no easy game, just some maybe a little harder It really serves no purpose because the only thing that matters is how your team perform on the day Just watch and enjoy forget about numbers or fixtures

I would like to know
1. Why a 60 million pound player cannot score from 12 yds, get him off the list of penalty takers
2. Why did Jesus or Fernandino or Sane take it
Game did not live up to expectatations but I suppose both pleased to come out of it with a point_____________________________

Jim…I do not think Gungdoghan is that bad but I would give Foden a go and see how he copes with Anfield,Pep will know soon enough to take him off or keep him on. The League will not be decided on this game, as it was last season but I am happy that City are talked down by the media now and Liverpooland Chelsea have the higher expectancy level. I am sure it will be a cracking game to watch. It is a game City and Liverpool should enjoy without all the hype this time hopefully

Jim, we are getting the job done phase. All teams aware of City potency and all have made efforts to curb us. We are not the finished article yet by any means but I have to say it is nice to look forward to a match day and see some football, rarely a bad game name from both sides from what I have watched so far at the Etihad. I like the progress beig made but next season I anticipate at least 4/5 new players being brought in to maintain the standard

It has been shambolic management by Spurs. Spurs fans are the ones to be upset most about it. This will have cost somebody or will have in the future, delays always means extra costs. Reminds me of the ever increasing numbers of HS2, at first it was 18 Billion then 26 Billion now said to be 57 Billion so realisticaly you can think of 200 Billion…for what? Somebody can get from Birmingham to London 15 minutes earlier? The North will never see it, spent up after Birmingham
Sorry to include that as a comaprison but in Spurs case, as mentioned it would have been better to play the season at Wembley from the start to finish The Stadium is looking good and it will be good to see_____________________________

I just hope City can score some early goals and settle down. It will not be easy, if you are in CL you are a good team and capable

City will not be held to ransome, I doubt Sterling doing that at this point but he will be sold if no resolution at the end of the season. A lot of good young players coming through now. It is up to the lad of course, I have no problem with that he builds his own life by his own decisions and lives with that.

Hightown..I know I am an ex golfer now and there are plenty of non golfers around but the Ryder Cup is one of the best sporting events of the year, a real test of nerve and skill with nowhere to hide

Ed…reading Foden’s interview he states he knows Pep will introduce him at the right time for his development. He obviously puts his trust in him and eventually he will become a very good player for club and country in the future. He is still on a learning curve

Guys, playing with numbers diguises the simplicity of player not being good enough for the task. Re sale is a convenience for accounting not reality. My guess is 95% at least players bought will be sold for considerably less, the reality of that fact is you should factor in a large depreciation figure, which I believe they do but you cannot have it both ways by having a resale asset on your books, one or the other
Numbers have never convinced me, just like historic facts. The only thing that is important is the next game, not what happened yesterday or what MAY happen in the future. Enjoy the game and dont get wrapped up in figures. A good statistican will make you believe anything you want…much like politicians although I would remove the word “good”_____________________________

Chuky, I for one, pleased that he did not come to City, we are not doing too bad without him. Utd have bought Cplayers City had shown an interest in, Sanchez, Pogba, Van Persie in particular. VP did win them a title though. Utd have the talent but not the team.
