Bricky, think positive at all times, I have just spent the last three years in/out of hospital, numerous operations and well looked after by the Doctors and nurses, just one exception at one hospital, but I count myself lucky. Hopefully I am through the worst, keep strong and keep telling yourself you will come through it and be proud of it

Chuky…I cannot speak for Ed but my love of the game stems from football in the 40’s and early 50’s. Fan behaviour was very good, just a few occasions when it appeared unruly but then fans stood side by side, no stewards, maybe a policeman somewhere but rarely seen, in general it was a great atmosphere, Brass band as well and SAFE, although crushed like sardines at times. I remember being at two games Utd v Arsenal and City v Rangers at Maine Road at the back of the stand and wondered how I would ever get out, both said to be 84K attendances. Those days are long past but just nice to remeber how good it used to be, I am in my 74 th season with City now and fear it will be my last due to health reasons and I cannot attend night matches, which are getting more each season. I will then consider some form of Pay TV but I am reluctant to pay for poor commentary and the know it all pundits so I will probably settle for radio commentry and MotD and occasional visit to City
Whatever it takes…enjoy the game while you can

No team at the top spend money wisely
Those who have not got it, wish they had it
Thos that have it and do not spend it enjoy something else
Money is the root of problems in football, but it is here to stay for some time until a new game structure takes over and then it will be worse than it is now.
Real fans are becoming a rareity. Ed mentioned he was a football fan first and Utd fan second…that is the way I look at it as well… I have never understood tribal football which leads to more violence or abuse.
In some ways, I am guilty as well, I bought one of my grandchildren a City “bob hat” and only 6 months old!!! How stupid can you get?

Chuky, I am not offended, as you say this is a forum and everybody has a say and a right to repond. As far as City goes, I said we needed two full backs who could defend, it is true we have no natural full backs but we could one of two things, bring on 1/2 of the promising younger players or, yes, do go out and buy but it need not be a mega buy as you are eluding to, anyway, before this gets too protracted, have a good New Year and lets see what happens

Chuky, the remark was made in response to Paxtons comment on City;s fans not knowing where they came from. I was reminding him that most City fans do remember when we did not have the money and other teams did. As to full backs, City did spend a lot on full backs but Mendy our LB has been out most of the season. Walker has been less than impressive all season, we have no other natural defenders apart from Danilo

Paxton, in reply to your earlier post and I can assure you that the majority of City fans do not forget where they have come from, Lincoln City, macclesfield, Port Vale are still in our minds. As to Walker, it is not just the last few games he has a habit of going missing through poor positional play, Pep knew that and probably thought he could improve him. We have now been exposed in the full back position, right and left, the CB’s are pulled out of position covering for the too often, to some extent, they can do it when Fernandino and Silva are in tandem but not without them We cannot offer excuses, we were poor on the recent losses and got what we deserved.History now, move on,lets see less talk from players and better performances.

Cityboy…Pep needs to get two fullbacks quick. We do not have any who can defend. The performances we are putting in are now well below the standard set and will get ripped apart by teams who have spotted the weakness. City favourites…I have never thought that

Palace are better than there position in the league. City without Silva, Fernandiho and KDB lack forward mobility, I am sure we willrecover providing Walker does not give any more goals away, no need to panic

As Mr Klopp said last week “it was City’s to loose” referring to the title chase, now, the same applies to Liverpool, being in front means everyone else has to catch up. It will be a good run in but the next three games will be important for all contendors

This week ends results are good for the sake of a real battle for the top now but reading the media and some post a real danger of over analysis because of these results. Not long ago it was a case of how you stop City, I argued a case that it could be any one of 6 and still do although that maybe four now but you never know. What happens, happens and the subsequent story unfolds. Just enjoy the moment guys. No excuses for City, they were beaten..end of story. Leicester will be just as tough, so will Southampton. The difference now watching City is they still try and play there fotball, sometimes it just does not click, nothing to do with mentality, I am sure Pep will instill that or find somebody that will,Football first that is what we pay to watch.
I was impressed with Palace performance, they should be higher up the table on that showing

srd79…our “deep squad” did nothing for us to day. OK, maybe an “off day” but if we want to win the title we have to win matches, particularly at home. I do not know if other teams will learn something from this but we are a different team with Fernandinho, Silva and KDB plus Augerro up front. Leicester will now be a test of character and application to get the job done, we had wingers on the pitch to day but did not serve them. That was down to Delph,Walker and Stones, who is not a holding midfied player in my opinion. No excuses though, Palace had the measure of us and credit there manager Roy Hodgson for that.Walker had a nightmare game Gungdogan and Bernardo snuffed out

Well done Palace, they stuck with there plan A big off day for us. I hope Pep gives Walker a rest…..preferably 5 months We need Silva, Fernandiho and De Bruyne back fulltime now and no more “off days”

Correct Chuky…”scores on door” is the only statistic that is right, everything else, the’if’s and Maybe’S ” totaly irrelevant I do not believe in historical references either, we have won the league last season but to me, it has past, the moment of joy gone but not forgottern, the only thing that matters to me is how we shape up for the next game, whoever it is. I disagreed with the great Shankly…there are more important things than football and you have to question recent fans behaviour to see our great game being taken over
However, ever the optimist, although a pragmatic one, I wish everyone a good festive season and hope 2019 brings happiness to you all

It is just one person’s opinion who has it published, we all have our own choices. A little like a 50K gate at a match, nearly all would have a different team selection. I do not even know how some of the players got into the top 100!!!

The youngsters did well. I had a concern about playing so many under 21 but I guess I should have had more confidence in them. Ederson may well have competition now but this is only one game but I hope Muric gets other chances
