Mikus…some good pointers. I do think though that fans will never be consulted. In some ways even th FA, UEFA and Fifa are now driven by Commercial activity in football, that to me is the alarming thing. They have the power to change fixture list and venues. It is sad but the global league will appear , it has zero appeal to me and my days of watching football will decrease rapidly but I can enjoy the comfort of seeing real footballers through the decades I have been going. I also think match fixing will show its ugly face on the scale it is going
I am going to enjoy the last couple of seasons before it happens though_____________________________

17th January 2019 at 3:39 pm in reply to: Spectators providing support/atmosphere reflecting spirit of the club #31508NB…it is called, over analysis, but now you have fans analysing every morsel they can find to throw at some club not to there likeing
I fail to understand why they just do not watch a game of football and leave the Sciene to the pundits with there football charts to show us how well they would have done it_____________________________

16th January 2019 at 11:05 am in reply to: Spectators providing support/atmosphere reflecting spirit of the club #31420Mick, I would agree with you, in part, it may well have become a rich mans toy, how much depends on the investment and longevity of there stay, however when one of your senior Management stated that profits derived outside the ground, i.e. fan base, are more important to the club it does not say much for the price of loyalty. I believe our capacity at 54K is right for the club and with reasonable priced seats but I also believe our true fan base is 45K, that average will grow in time providing we continue to serve up the football we are enjoying and the way the club is progressing. This does not demean them in any way, just fact of life, Money is so ingrained in the game now be it from the USA, China Emirates or wherever it is difficult for one club to elude it is unfair on another, it is only the amounts and planning that are different

15th January 2019 at 4:57 pm in reply to: Spectators providing support/atmosphere reflecting spirit of the club #31388Oz Yob City capacity is 54K give or take a few. Ticket prices are reasonable. I do not care what people say about the capacity at matches or the atmosphere, I enjoy it, Without foriegn investment the PL would not exist, it is only the variable amounts invested that appears to worry fans and why there teams do not have MORE money.
Money has changed the game, some may say, for the better_____________________________

15th January 2019 at 3:34 pm in reply to: Spectators providing support/atmosphere reflecting spirit of the club #31383Big club, little club…????? what is the value of that. The measure does not have a significance. If City are to be called a nearly big club, I accept that and will enjoy the football that is being served
I believe City do not have a fan base like Utd but what we have is loyal fan base, then again you could put a case for Accrington Stanley who probably have a fan base of 1200 who turn up and not watch super stars. How do you put a value on that? If you do it for one, then do it for all At some stage “Big teams” will drop spectators, just like all other “big” teams have done, however, as I stated it is not a measure than can be defined as suggeted._____________________________

Moos…I would agree it is here to stay now but I have reservations if it will improve the game or change it that it becomes unwatchable. I would not like to see the game driven by statistics or technology….it is a game of football….just let them get on with it and get better Referee and his assistants get better and the game to flow. Diving, shirt pulling should be dealt with severely and on the spot.Refs will get it wrong sometimes but technology may also not be without faults.

Nine….even pragmatic me can afford to get optimistic now, but wait,
Burton score a goal in the first minute, City have three players sent off, oh no!!! Kyle Walker has just scored a belter..in his own net then gets sent off for arguing with Ederson, down to 8 now, three City players collide into each other, all cannot continue and City travelled without a reserve bench…..how will it all end???????
After the jest, it was another good performance. I am still not convinced with Mahrez as first choice winger but so pleased to see KDB back, he will also take a little weight off Silva, although I think Bernadinho does as well, he is rapidly becoming a favourite player in the team for me.
Wolves will certainly be a test and they will be well up for it after beating Liverpool plus they need points as much as we do. It should be a good match

Nine…you and I are confused about decision makeing. I think the FA or whoever it is needs to put out a clear statement for fans on how this works and who makes the decisions. I can see a big problem ariseing if it is not sorted, fans need to understand what they are watching and maybe a brief explanation over the speakers

I can just imagine Peps words “No showboating lads, get the job done in a professional way and no easying up” I can relate to defeats at York, Halifax and other lower league teams so I am pleased how we went about this game more than the result

ED….you must know me well enough by now…I never count any team easy, I have seen too many “hiccups” Being pragmatic by nature I always find there are two teams on the pitch and anything can happen. We have won nothing yet and I do not believe in hard luck stories

Ed….I take it you think City’s game with Burnley is easy then.In some ways I would rather be faceing Utd, Arsenal, Spurs Burnley are capable of putting a Cup run together despite league form. It will be a tough game certainly not a “kind” game. It happened to another Lancashire team in recent times, Wigan, I see comparisons in this draw and plenty of danger

A fantastic player and it is good to have him back. I am pleased Pep is managing this return well and also giving David Silva and Fernaniho a rest as well

It is wise to get all of the story first and whatever the reason, good or bad nations will trade and individuals will buy products from those countries. Careful not to live in a house with glass walls

Would tend to agree with that Alfie, VAR is not and may not be perfect but it is better than nothing in my view. My concern is takeing too much away from the REF and many will take it as a soft option, the only answer to that is for Ref to have higher standards. I would not like to see the game de generate into players running around after the Ref trying to imitate a TV screen for every incident…because they will if they can get away with it. No approaches to the Ref should be made except for a Captain, the rest….keep away. I have no doubt VAR will improve as time goes on and we may have to accept some of the decisions

Too many “IFs and buts” again. If you start analyising a game this way the enjoyment will disappear because you cannot change what happened. Decisions are made on the spot by the Ref and now by VAR, end of story. All teams will have there share of the results of thoses decisions. The game is over guys, focus on the next game. Hard luck stories are available by the bucketful for any team
