Just not City’s night. I thought they did not manage the game well enough but silly mistakes did creep back again. Game over. Put it right for Arsenal please. Ref almost lost control of this game though and that reflected to players performances, should not have, but did thats is why we did not manage it well enough.

Aldridge…child like comments, complete irrelevance. What happened yesterday has no bearing on the future, he clearly lives in the past and needs to change his thinking. Liverpool got there investor, a good one to and they are supporting the Liverpool effort the best they can. It cannot be easy for an American to understand the culture of our game but they are doing a decent job of it until you get idiots spouting about “big club/small club” History/no history Shirt sales etc etc. Maybe we should have 3 leagues
1. The real football one
2 History league
3 Events outside football, shop sales etc

I am only interested in watching a good football match, whatever the score line, the rest is for post analytical mindset

I hope somebody is talking sense to Foden and Garcia at City who I see as emerging next season into the squad and having plenty of games. Without doubt, in my opinion, it is money driven and says a lot for the culture of Me to around us now. There will be a few cases of sucess but a lot will find moves not as what they may have thought and when the honeymoon period of say a first season with another club where they do well, then will come the grind of playing consistenly well and sometimes not well managed. A big choice. The flip side could also be that they are not well managed now of course, hence the request. Think twice and act once would be my advise

I prefer it to the CL because it brings all the teams in all the leagues together and the smaller clubs can beat the bigger ones,that is the magic. I am sure a few surprises will emerge from this week end. Football, for me, is not always about watching the big players.

NB….have to disagree about Sterling yesterday and you have stated “Sterling was impeded” Penalty Defenders do not go into tackles with the thought of pulling out, witness Walker, same match….he should have been sent off

The “powers that be” never get the important things right for the good of the game. I agree, should have been stopped years ago, there was a time when you never watched it happen…it is an imported trait to our game. It is difficult to know the best way to resolve it but I would like them to try retrospective viewing and hard punishiment to the player and club for a season to see if it has an effect. I watched an incident not long ago with a player clutching his face and doubled up in so called agony when he was not even touched. That, to me is a 5 match ban at least. I also think some Refs are afraid of star player punishment, why, I do not know

Mikus,, you are right, club shops and wearing club shirts did not exist in my early days, a business opportunity created. One of the reasons I would not buy one now is they are not value for money. I could buy a very good quality golf shirt that will last longer and not go out of date There is very little in the actual make up, the badge is probably the most expensive part and some of the commercial branding I would not touch at all

I would drop Europa, Caraboo for PL teams, most teams cannot afford to carry squads to cover all competitions anyhow and it should not be left to the few that can. CL is over rated. The platers may say it is the only place /game they want to play in but that is heavily weighted by they bring in more money for themselves. Fans pay more for the privlege

What I do not understand is the “divers” in the game are invariably good footballers and should not have to resort to dishonesty, instead, let there football skills do the talking. They do not wish to do this and no fan likes to see it , be one of there team or not If it is not clamped down on it wil get worse and players will be taking acring lessons to achieve there aim

Nine…I would agree “too big_” but if they saw the future as being not successful due to the challenge of global football leagues it would make sense to have a real shorter version of just champions The rate we are going we are not going to have time for PL fixtures or FA Cup which is still my preference

The Champions League should have been short, sweet and meaningful i.e. Only for Champions of respective leagues. This would also give fluidity of teams changing, except for Scotland where it would be Celtic every year
