Something I am curious about, Emlyn H or Steven G who was the best. I ask this to Liverpool supporters who saw them more tan I did. From what I experienced seeing them live as against TV I thought Emlyn was a little better but I would not like to live on the difference between them. Thought they both did there job well

For me… he was a good player but a little overrated. A good point was made…few teams did not offer him a chance to join them
Do not like it when the mud slinging starts but again, as mentioned….helps books sales…but not with me. I never bought SAFs books when I heard about all the inaccuracies or it would have been an interesting read_____________________________

Lucky…you would think so, re your defense comment, however , the media keep informing us how vunerable we are defensively. If they care to look at the last few seasons they have been saying this we have not done too badly with a vunerable defence. Laporte will be missed no doubt about that but it will not be an excuse used by City. Stones is also a doubt if he can string along more than 2/3 games but I am sure pep will come up with something. People forget that Kompany missed a lot of games but came back just in time when we needed him, now, Father Time has caught up like it will with any player. Silva is going but we have a replacement I think Sergio may go as well depends on how the season goes for him but is now of an age where he will look for a last Hoorah with a previos club…I will miss him if he does, playing better than ever at the moment Fernandinho..yes but again replacement ready Defensively, we need a couple ready to replace Walker and Otemendi as well

ED..just a point on Maguire. Maybe, it was also the case that he had at least 3 competitors at City and none at Utd, Guaranteed starting place. He will have noted Mahrez experience

We all share the grief in a sincere way, that is what matters and as time passing it helps more that people have this feeling

Complacency will not be allowed by any manager no matter who they are playing. The minute you start thinking this should be “easy” you will drop points. It happened to us against Crystal Palace and Newcastle and cost us the games

I disagree about the fouling bit as well, no more than any other midfielder in that position but his football sense and positioning wins the ball more often than not. The media gave him that title like they do with so many players and it has stuck with him last few seasons…it will not bother him Our midfield is solid with him in position, why we ever went after Jorghino I do not know, why we went after Maguire I do not know…then I know nothing about how jigsaws are put together

I do not care what the draw comes up with. You have to beat the team in front of you on the day.

Have a good break Nine, I hope I am not jumping to conclusions but I think the forum is beginning to get a better quality of dicussion without the tribal inflections. Life is more important than football

Chuky, the dissapointment was “Spurs have never been at top of tree” Yes they have and from my point of view have always been entertaining to watch…you do not need a Title for that The 1950/60 you haad some great teams Too young to remember Chuky!!!!! OK

I am feeling so sad for the family, no words good enough from me. The old saying that time heals is of little consolation at this time but I mention it out of my personal grief of having lost a very brave Grandchild

ED, as I have said before, the problem is not so much Ole but who is pulling the strings, until that changes Utd will continue to be in a delicate state. I hope it does come right in the end though

Football and what is called fan base has changed considerably in recent times. Fan base did not exist years ago The good old days will never return and there are aspects of the game back in the 40/50s I would not want to see again. Progress has been made and a price is being paid.
As to how to describe a “fan” I believe if your heart tells you “X” is my team, so be it, no matter where you live. It is impossible for many fans who live near of far to get season tickets, afford them with travel cost, hence the TV supporter…and why not? After all many clubs derive more income from shirt sales from far and wide and TV viewing which is more than any gate money, even at Utd, where one of the Board members actually admitted if they loose home crowd fan base it will be covered by merchandise…words to that effect I am not critical of that statement it is the way the game is to day. My conclusion then is let your heart pick your team and support them best you can.
Last for Chuky..you dissapointed me, Spurs had a wonderful team which won the league more than once i believe…Blanchflower, Mackay etc in th 50’s if my memory is right after that I am sure they had some good teams as well. However, just so you can throw a brick at me, it would have made me happy to be at WHL…City 3 down at HT and down to 10 men and won 4-3 now that is what I call a happy day…that was not a good Spurs team. I can also remember you spanking us_____________________________

28th August 2019 at 8:40 pm in reply to: Week 4: Because I\'m still bored (and annoyed about the cricket) #46563The same tactics have been used already against City and it has worked at times, Newcastle included, last season It will also work against other teams than City as well, so where does this point end? It does not. Is it all to do with anything that beats City will be OK? I want to see a football match, Spurs played a defence game against us but it was an attractive match to watch, sometimes you have to admire defending but I would not like it to be a regular thing as a spectator

I am a sad a reso;ution could not be found but I guess anybody wanting to invest money into a business that is already seriously in debt is not investing to clear debts due to bad previous management. It also appears to me ,that is what the owner was looking for, so he could gain further advantage. The guy has had his bluff called. For Bury fans the best they can get out of this is to try and reform with a trusted investor and re apply to join a lower league and hopefully get back to where they were.
I live just 6 miles from Bury and we do our weekly shopping in Bury, a great place and I know how locals feel about this. I just wonder who owns the Bury ground, that is the next worry, I would hate to see it converted into a houseing estate and some land investors have it,, maybe planned it!!!! Cynical, I know but nothing surprises me in this “ME” world_____________________________

Agree with everyone about Sky…classless and shows what kind of management they have. No fan, from any club wants to see this kind of thing..disgraceful
