Reading all your post on your favourites has been interesting but totaly alien to me. I am into a different kind of music, a lot of Jazz, Big Band music and I mean real Big Bands. Count Basie and the likes Oscar Peterson but, in general, I like all kinds of music from Classical to Country. The one thing I cannot stand is the drum lead music, just kills any attempt at musical scores.
I play keyboard myself, after my piano playing days cut short by fractured wrist,

Nil…quiet right about the pundits, None of them have achieved anything at the Management level of Pep and that is what gets to them. The one thing you cannot take away from Pep is his experience which is greater than theres. They write and comment on what they think will be a headline hence the dumb questions

Adlab..considering Stones has had little match time I think he got through it, Otemendi, not for the first time just switches off at times but there appeared no organisation from any one of the defenders, that is the real problem, maybe they should Bravo in goal and Ederson at CB!!!!!!!

City…it was going to happen at some point, Well done Norwich City keep it going now. Mistakes costs us to day and I think we missed the guiding defensive work of Fernandinho rather than Laporte. However, I am sure Pep has noted the downsides of to days performance and will be ready for Wednesday Only 5 games in and only 5 points behind we have been in worse positions

Maverick…please…no…Kane is a good player but not in City’s way of playing. We have young Jesus anyhow to back up Augerro and he will continue to keep knocking them in

Ed, Foden is not ready yet but he will be as the season transpires
KDB, Siva , Fernandinho and Bernado are a tough ask to replace but Pep has already stated he will play this season…from that point it is up to the Foden but at the momet he is getting first class schooling. If you look at some of the other younsters around the same age they are being asked to do too much by there respective teams, the expectancy from fans is also unreasonable. Young players have to learn and earn there places guided by seasoned “pro’s or they will go like many other promising youngsters into oblivion

Well, to be fair to you…I can go back way much further. Internationals then were a rareaty, mostly due to the war but even the early post war years as well, but then had a excellent crowd support although it was as late as 1953 or thereabouts before I got to see an International game. Then again it was classed as a HOME International. I watched N.Ireland play England at Windsor Park Belfast, I know we won but do not remember much about the match. The nearest I got to watching a team outside the English Football league was City played Glasgow Rangers around 1945/6 Huge crowd at Maine rd and I think City turned out in white shirts and black shorts, I remember thinking “What is this?” Rangers in there Blue.

In the real “olden days” Nil England played Scotland,N. Ireland and Wales, occasional games with Rest of World but never impinged on the league programme and week day games rare. The game was more physical the but slower and a week was needed to get over the battering many players endured, particularly goalkeepers

442..I am with you on this….International football is a poor extension to football leagues. The National teams play too many matches in a season and it is boreing, World Cup, European Cup and any other you care to name plus the dreaded frienlies. Football will have a 12 month season soon at this rate

The reasons we lost the series was down to
                        1 Poor captaincy
2 England do not have test match calibre batsmann, they play Test cricket like a 20/20 game

Australia won because they did everything better, no excuses

Lucky…I can see you get a lot of enjoyment out of this….good luck and whatever makes you tick…keep it going. For me, If I am not at a match I will be sitting in my little room, feet up, a glass of something handy and a good biscuit or three and listen to a match on the radio. Very enjoyable, especiall on a cold wet winters day

PS I may delete the biscuit bit later in case my Doctor sees it

My take on the match. We need to be much better than this performance. We lacked any ideas in midfield and did not move the ball forward enough. The second goal was not a penalty imo but that is the way it goes. Bulgaria did not offer much but should have gone in front earlier. Impressed with Mason Mount, Pickford did well although I am not a fan of his, even Kane admitted the first half was a poor performance. Too many half hearted performances for me, like a training ground match

Lucky…I tell you what I do like…I found a City site that goes back to my early era and gives all the scores and teams…so I go along and type in say 1944 season, recall the match I attended and it brings back a flood of wonderful memories. There was a match I attended around this time, played on a freezing Christmas Day, City v Plymouth Argyle..City coasting at HT 3-1, Plymouth came back 3-3 then City got a winner. The real story was, both teams got on a train back to Plymouth…can you imaging that, played the return at Plymouth Boxing day. This was steam railway days just after the war had finished so I think no such thing as an Express or even a good meal on board. How they did it, all of them, I do not knw, never happen to day

Lucky, I can only equate my way of looking at it to years of absolute dire City performances but at no time did I say to myself..thats it I have had enough, mind you, I would lieing if I did not say , it nearly happened on a few occasions in the last 75 seasons. Like I have said before, I always go to watch City, first and foremost, secondly I go to watch a football match with 22 players and appreciate the opposition players. The points are won or lost, nothing I can do to change that. City have accumulated a lot of points over the last few seasons but the one that matters to me is Norwich City, a week to day. I am very pragmatic on football issues as you may have gathered but I do respect all views whever they come from. I think we have some of the best fans in the world but also some of te worst

I remember years ago takeing one of my sons to watch City every home game and at a time when City were looseing more than winning to lower league teams as well, we would walk out of the ground and i would always say to him “Never mind son, it will be better next game” he just enjoys the game now like dad.

The “Ifs and buts” and statistics do not interest me.They rarely, if at all, tells the actual story but I can see statistics being interesting to some. If you look at last season, I can just about remember it!!! it stated City won by one point, but nowhere does it say they pulled back 7 points, those are facts.I do acknowledge for the importance of records factual information should always be kept for the games historical event Most fans, as can be seen on here at times, will argue about “ifs and buts” until the cows come home but it changes nothing, game over, move on. I have witnessed many strange incidents over many years and would have driven myself to distraction if I had not switched off at the final whistle
