OK ED thanks for response but I would also like to remind you that City have met Southampton six times in the Cup and we have yet to beat them.It will not be easy by any means

Kick it out need a sense of reality, going after incidents like this will not do there cause any good at all. What is the next step all white players to have white shoe laces and others have black ones??? It is all nonsense Bernado Silva is a wonderful character at City, from what I have observed always polite and his best friend is Mendy….who teases him all the time

Ed…Utd have a good record of going out to “smaller clubs” City at least avoided the banana skin. Also remember, from the “smaller clubs” perspective this was a huge bonus for them and there was always a chance they could bring about a shock…but the again, they would be playing City not Utd. I would not call Southampton a small club either

Pagan…a way needs to be found to stop what you describe. I am not sure how I would go about it but as I have said before fans enjoy analysis more than a game of football now. Comments on a game I understand but the statistical and now Video evidence, which is not always true and rely’s on human interpretation means little to me. Final whistle goes, that is the score…look forward to the next match I watch, whoever it is

Pagan, enjoyed your post, I think the biggest problem, if it is a problem, is that fans have a tendency to over analyse this leads to a confrontational conversation . I am sure if they were all sat around a table they would laugh more at each other. I am also an offender of over analysis. I keep telling myself …the game is not a science, it is a sport and perfection will never be attainable or team selections etc never be the same.We do need to enjoy a game of football sometimes no matter who is playing

Spurs could win the next 3 matches and that puts it into another frame, they are capable but will they be consistent..that is the question I do not think Poch would do well at RM either, the demands there will be far greater

24th September 2019 at 4:05 pm in reply to: Isn't it time that we stopped supporting terrible companies? #48309Mac..I believe it is a growing issue, not just with Nike. I do not buy shirts with Sponsors name on. I would, IF, they paid me what the rate was sports people to use me as a “Billboard” advertising, then again, some companies I would not support whatever they would have offered me. They seem to think they are doing you a favour to advertise for them, well my ratings on them is usually very low

It is probably true that almost all Managers do not like being interviewed although, regrettably, it is part of the job these days, some just cannot do it well. This does not make them a bad manager though. I must admit I like Klopp and Rodgers, we need these guys in the EPL. I also admire Dyche Pelligrino and Rafa
I think Lampard should turn out OK at Chelsea but he needs that vital commodity TIME. At some point we will have to look at a successor to Pep but I think we have him now_____________________________

I have no problem with VAR, I do have a problem with human interpretation of what has happened.Being a cynical soul I see it as a thin edge of wedge for somebody to control results eventually unless it sorted now. What is the point in having technology interpreted by humans, may as well stick with a Referee and use VAR for say goal line technology instead of somebody’d toe sticking over a line planted on a screen by another human

I was at City game to day. The realistic score should have been 11-3 City in that mood would have beaten anyone to day, maybe not that scoreline but they were good, very entertaining football

I would agree with that Nil, incomes from footballers/Managers etc totally out of proportion with the real world. I have never accepted the argument that they have “short lives” so do thousands of other people. The same would apply to the money people like Lineker get as well, totally obscene for a job Mr Average fan could do better for a lot less. Unfortunately we live in a world with the motto GREED as its emblem. There will always be differences in income whatever walks of life it just appears some are totally unjustified and paying young “stars” so much they can drive round in high performance cars is equally sickening to me. Celeb life has overtaken real talent in most cases

Mikus, I think you are reading too much into this. I think Sancho wanted to move on, probably did not see many opportunities to break through, City had to play him or let him go to be fair to the lad. It may well happen to Foden although somehow I doubt it but we will see. Other youngsters coming through, some out on loan with Championship clubs, the Academy is producing, eventually some will make the squad. There is no time limit on these things other than they get a bit older. Experienced staff, not just Pep I am sure review everyone of them on a regular basis.
I am also sure this is not unique to City. In my view the investment is and will continue to be the right thing to do, plus other clubs will benifit from the experience from players that do move on.
Last…UEFA, FA etc…if they continue to pile more games per season they will have to allow clubs to increase there squads and I think this should be with Academy players not expensive signings or even non nationals…just a thought_____________________________

Chuky you have a point, because it was interesting to hear Pep being more critical of his strikers than the defenders who clearly let the side down. Europe next then Watford, prefer the 3 pts off Watford but I am sure they will go for 6 pts

Chuky…you are absolutely right. I should not let it make me annoyed when I see the in the Mail this morning “is the end?” words to that effect. I wish you, Mak and others would get a job doing it, at least it would be entertaing and more informative as to what actually happens

Good post Mak. I think these media people need to pass some kind of intelligence test before commenting on some agenda they want to follow It is good to see sensible fans on here have spotted them.
They will also know that Pep is not that kind of person to put the infamotary remarks they have chosen to interpret and highlight, however, that is what they wanted, not a sensible discussion. They just wait for this type opportunity, it will happen to others as well as Pep._____________________________

Nil…this season will be a defining moment for some City players, Changes are needed and changes will come. What we have learned at City is teams that do not change will not challenge for long, including City. I see at least 5/6 players, maybe more, from the existing team not being with us next year January or end of season. If I look back at the last 10 years the turnover has been very high. I hope we see some youngsters being brought in as well. I would be prepared to sacrifice titles for a season of experience for them, of course, that will not happen . We also need clubs like Burnley Bournemouth and others who are well managed to stay in the division as long as possible and maybe a few “elites” be relegated to get there feet on the ground again. Of course I am dreaming again
