Adlab..I like that idea of Mount, Foden and Maddison as long as they have good players around them that will do there job. None of them I would call midfield destroyers or generals but with the right choice of CB and full back/winger they could become a high quality unit. I think the problem England have is that they do not have enough quality players, a somewhat surprising statement considering the history and culture of our game but that is where we are and make do with what we have

Mason Mount..I can certainly see the potential in this lad but what I fear is he will burn out quicker than he should. He needs to be nurtured by Lampard and Southgate not thrust in and expected to turn in star performances, the reason Berkley, still young has not progressed into the player he should be because of the same reason….too much expected at a young age. Sancho, shown nothing last night, Rice not convincing, The alternative is to play older players but that is not answer either. Pep is criticised for not giving Foden playing time but I think the reasons are obvious. I have no answers on the International team and Southgate doing a reasonable job with the players he has but we are sadly lacking in most areas, if not all so, I am looking from some ideas of how to improve, short and long term. There is no magic wand in my opinion

This was an INTERNATIONAL match, my guess any number of clubs from the Championship would have beaten either side, We clamoured for the youngsters, well if there was a positive from that, it was they should have learned more than one lesson. Poor performance by players and Manager for not changing the game plan and players sooner, which still may not have not made any difference because the quality was not there, Kane is a good player and works hard but when the tactic is lump it up to him the opposition can read it easily and we are not talking of top quality team here.Huge gaps in midfield and our central defenders…well what can you say. 2/3 fine saves from Pickford but his distribution poor Rose…why is he on the team sheet? Trippier still not convincing enough. The problem then is….who else is there? I feel this is a performance than can be repeated rather than improved upon

Mac…well we agree about Walker, I hope Pep puts Garcia in but I doubt it. You are also right about Fernandinho, he is doing a job and no more when he should be used for what he does best. Peps choices are limited but he may need to change his tactics until we are in a stronger personnel position. Kompany..again your thinking right but I was referring more to the steady comments on we were missing him. We are missing a player like him, but Kompany, as we knew him, is in the past. I am no longer convinced that Stones will make it….too many injuries, we need stability at the back.

442…re Jesus….he will develop to be a better player that is certain, he will have plenty of opportunity this year and the following years. He has not the toughness yet to battle like Augerro ,who had this mentality when he was younger. Jesus is quick but Augerro thinks faster. I am sure he is learning every week from Augerro and fortunately it is well received according to what we know. Unfortunately it does not gell on the pitch so much as a strike partnership but that is due to the tactical plan Pep employs more than anything else Jesus gives everything in effort and he can and does score goals but his time has not arrived yet but getting closer…Just my view

Pagan, my view on the Kompany comments is that they are all assuming he would have made the difference. Kompany is one of my all time favourites but he would not have made a difference on the pitch this year, if he thought different he would have stayed another season and his injury record would have highlighted that. As a person he would have probably helped, at times, remember we are only 8 games in and two defeats, he could have shouted from the sideline but in what role? We already have enough coaches so for a couple of below form matches I do not see a role at the moment. We do need a Kompany Mk2 though. Maguire was not the answer either. In conclusion…absolutely love the guy but it was right for him to move on and Pep should have at least found a suitable replacement. The reliance that players can multi role tasks does not work every time and although we have gifted players that is not the same as the right player in the right slot That is my view

Mac….a good read that I think Pep just thought he could get that bit more out of his defensive players but it has not worked out. The current thinking is to employ Walker there, I think that would be the biggest disaster of all, he does not read a game well as a CB in the Pep mould. We have some problems that have been hoisted on to us, these things happen and as you say it could happen to others as well. City will improve, I feel sure about that. Liverpool are going very well and are in prime spot again but still a way to go yet

I still cannot understand the point many are making re Kompany…..he could not have survived another season in the EPL
He was a good leader but City have survived long spells without him as well. The problem we have now is we are a bit lightweight in defence. I am sure this will be resolved_____________________________

Chelsea man…..Augerro maybe the wrong side of 30 but just look who is heading the goalscorers, he is actually playing better than I have seen him for some time and his assist are special also. Silva…you cannot rule this guy out, ever…one game below par and he comes in for some stick. Again, he will be important for us , again, this season

Hightown…if it was just laporte it would be different but we lost Sane,KDB,Stones,Mendy as well as Laporte, almost half the team. I am not crying about it, the team we put out against Wolves should have won, we did not, credit Wolves and back to some hard lessons on the training ground for us

Pep will honour his contract, he has even stated he may ask for an extension but being realistic, if he does move it will be to Italy not France. The French league is not competitive enough and that would not interest him. he will not go to Utd either.
Since he has been in the UK he has lifted the standard of play in the Premier and all the teams now strive to attain a better football standard than previous years. I will not enjoy the day he does go but Managers do move on when they feel they have done enough and being the new City I think they have the replacement all lined up.This season and next for City/Pep_____________________________

Nil..re Walker…the official reason was he had been suffering from stomach problems…I believe that, he did not look well HOWEVER I do not think he should have been in the team he has not been playing well for some time and I believe he will not be with us next season. It is not strange that Southgate has dropped him as well. We also score from different positions including outside the box. Many that are scored in the box start and finish outside the box much as Salahs do, you cannot pigeon hole City with a tap in quality. however, sometimes it takes good football to get to a tap in See the game Nil not an incident, that is the advantage of being there instead of watching on TV

Nine,,,he will play them because he has few options Otamendi/Fernandinho cannot play every game until after Christmas when you think of the Cup matches as well In an ideal world like I was pointing out pep would have nurtured them but that luxury is not open to him now. I do not think Pep and his colleagues felt that Maguire was that good and worth what Leicester wanted, Utd eventually paid, like they paid for Fred, Sanchez, Pogba and others, personal, I have never rated Maguire that highly…a good player but not a stand out CB like Kompany was or Terry or nowadays Van Dyke so on reflection Pep saving his money for somebody else, which may/may not happen in January, more like for next season I do see major changes at City at the end of the season. I see at least 6 of the current squad moving on. City are being careful of UEFA tracking them now so will do any transactions as allowed under the rules City will have bumpy patches, Pep and the Chairman have already stated that but the progress the club makes should be on an upward curve in all areas.
If you did not listen to the Chairmans yearly report, you should do, very level headed, very proud and always looking to the future
Defeats, like to day, hurt for a couple of seconds then I move on confident City will sort it out_____________________________

Why do people assume the loss of Kompany is our downfall? Kompany finished the season well but he missed a lot of games as well. I am sure he will agree he could not make another season in the EPL. With City’s style CB do not figure as much, and maybe this will be seen as a weakness. We have Augerro up front but does not play as a target man anymore but still scores goals and assist Should we have replaced him, probably yes to maintain a balance but we cannot turn the clock back. We now have the prospect of bringing in two academy player, at least one will get the chance, Garcia, I think. Pep is very protective of his young players and wants to bring them in carefully.. We all know of young players from all clubs, hailed too early and fizzle out before they get to an age where they can go on and improve further, it is a difficult management decision when you are under pressure. I doubt Pep is under pressure he will always have belief in himself and his team and the youngsters will benefit from this. I do anticipate Foden and Garcia to playing well before Christmas
