Nine…I think you are right, I think your youngsters will be serious challenger in two years, maybe even next year. City do not have a defence, lets make that clear, we play a fluid game that unless everyone is tuned in they will get beat. Interesting Kompany stated at week end City do not need a CB, well I think we need two but only if they play the system, which we do not have at the moment. We will go through a transition stage now, after this season , Liverpool will also. Next season I expect Utd to be stronger but it depends who is managing them and which 4/5 players they bring in. They have some useful youngsters like Chelsea but not as good imo. We will loose at least 5/6 players at the end of the season,2 possibly 3 will be replaced by youngsters and a couple of marque players. I am very confident about City management to get us through next phase City should be fired up but unless they start re producing there best game again it will be hard going.

I hear the major powers are having a summit conference about this incident. Russia has deployed a task force in the North sea. The USA have three carriers at sea and special forces ready, we, of course will have Captain Mannering and the Home Guard on full alert. It should have been kept “in house” end of story. I do not know what is worse the media frenzy or people trying to escalate the incident into something it is not. Sterling was wrong, Sterling apologised, Sterling given punishment …what else is there to say??

In this country of ours we have been taken over by clowns

I liked your response Mak. Keep with the facts and not the emotion and as to language…you are better than that. We all go OTT at times . We all have to remember, when the Ref blows his whistle at full time, it is game over.
As to Sterling/Gomez…everybody suckered into press frenzy. The paper I picked up to day had 3/4 full pages of it!!! Is there no more news about football other than an event which must happen thousands of times all over the place. Now they are nit picking over another camera event…when will it all end? I have said before there will come a time when players will have pitch side lawyers….the game is losing its identity_____________________________

I am really looking forward to the Chelsea game. I am really impressed with some of the younger players but the one player I think would give us the most problem is Willian….may surprise you Chelsea guys…..but is the type of player that does trouble City. I think Pep will be working extra hard for this game though

I do not see Kane going to City, if he has any sense he will go to Europe, other than staying where he is and Spurs getting some support in. Utd may fancy him though but Liverpool, like City…no. My guess is he will stay where he is.

gi blue…you are right the press will want this to run forever more, they have nothing else to right about and you can be shure it will hot up again before the return game. Pathetic lot.
I thought a public apology and accepted was fair enough. We see a lot more serious issues that go without and form of apology almost every week

Mak..there was no intention to attribute anything to you, maybe I did not word it right but I was trying to support your comments.and expand on it. In my opinion you are one of the best posters on the forum, my only dislike is the language at times, I am no prude, far from it, but there is a time and place for these things.
I have moved on from the game but for what it is worth1. Liverpool have no influence over referees
2. I think the Ref got decision making wrong, but that is my opinion, I accept it whatever decision is made and move on
3. Liverpool or any other team had nothing to do with the decision of the Refereeend of story

Mak…that is sad if you feel that. It is sad because the forum has good posters, some get carried away with events. I do not expect people to share my more pragmatic views of the game but I have lived through many eraβs of football including the war years but we are now all of us caught up in the modern structure of the game. In my view, for the worse. Posters like yourself are important to the forum to raise issues from facts view, which I know you do. I often think of the Stokes, Villa Forrest supporters, they are no longer in the top echelon and we hear little from them, a pity that. It then strikes me that all the moaning and whingeing are from fans of the top teams not appreciating what they have to day not what they had yesterday the games culture has to change and the fans need to improve. Just think..if fans behaved at matches there would be no need for Police at games a huge saveing for clubs over a season. My apologies for the drawn out response but I do not want to feel any club is undermined through a forum but I know it goes deeper than that with some….I will never understand that.

Nil…I do not know where this “anti Liverpool Seminar” is coming from, you will always get posters who would always deny to morrow is another day you must also remember, you generate a lot of this yourself. For my part, I enjoy the fact that we have another NWest team doing well, I am know you have a good Manager and he will build a good squad that should see you challenging for many seasons, but there will be others and here is the problem, fans get transfixed on there own team and quickly find out there are 4/5 other teams in the mix. My suggestion Nil is you appreciate the game more and become less tribal, I think you will enjoy football more then. As much as I love City I would not go to war for them and Mr Shanklys famous comment was totally incorrect, he did step the game up though all that time ago, as did SAF, Wenger now Klopp and Pep to day Respect to them all

Chuky, I enjoyed the 90 minutes apart from Bravo picking the ball out of the net three times!!!!! Good game from my point of view

This is the point I am making guys. Reading the fact you enjoyed a game of football played by two good teams….it is as simple as that….like I said before fans are too obsessed with the “Ifs and buts” of the game and not enough in appreciating what 22 players are producing. I know there will always be incidents that grate on the nerves but it passes, cannot be recalled and just watch the game unfold I enjoy football but not the obsession and lunacy of some fans and pundits of the behaviour and comments

I know what you are saying Nil but in to days world RESPECT has almost vanished on most things in life. My mother was 82yrs old, just been for a pension and was attacked by two young people, fans are over abusive at anything they happen not to like or understand, our forces are brought up in court for defending the country and lawyers fill there Bank account in the process. Nil…until we revert to a solid family life and learn RESPECT society , as we know it, will continue to go downhill

here we go again, when will “fans” ever learn. Once a decision has been made..thats it, it is not going to be overturned. It really does not matter the rights and wrong, if it did VAR would be taking much longer than it does now!!!! I was interested in the “toe ” incident because all the attention was on the “toe” but then in the same frame a defender was ahead of the “toe” I give up on this because I do not see any clarity in the rules, which are now so complicated we will soon see players with pitch side lawyers!!!!!!
back to the Liverpool/City game…..never mind the why and wherefore of what happened….it happened…move on. The game badly needs fans to appreciate the game more and less of the hassle. I have yet to hear….did anybody actually enjoy the game? Win or loose? It is easy to say yes when you win but can it be said that a loosening side also enjoys a game of football. Not just this game , but any game. I am aware of tribalism and I wish it did not affect our beautiful game, sadly I see things will not improve until common sense gets a better grip_____________________________

Congrats to Liverpool, they got it right to day, we did not. In saying that not a lot of difference between two good teams. The game is over, the score was 3-1 we move on to the next game. From Cit’s point of view I really think it is time we introduced garcia and gave Foden more game time. We need a freshness in the side. Although I am not a Bravo fan he was the right choice, Scott Carson has been a good keeper but has no match time this year and not even shure the last time he played. With better coaching Hart would have been a better keeper but still a No2
What is good now is that there will be four teams chasing Liverpool not just City and the can only be good for the EPL. Pep knows City’s need and what he has now in some areas needs replacing…he will do it_____________________________

442/nine I think Klopp will want to swamp midfield and keep the Silvas too busy to supply Augerro and Sterling, which to me leaves the focus on KDB and this will be key plan for City. You cannot pick KDB up easily. Liverpool have there threats, we know that, I am not sure our current defensive system is good enough to hold them so we do need goals. Hopefully…no penalties, no sending offs and no VAR!!!!!!

442….he will start with KDB, he is also due an inspired game, we shall see. Bernardo will be needed and I would have Stones/Garcia as the CBs Augerro will start as will Ederson but the loss of laporte and Rodri maybe too much for us against Liverpool
Apart from injuries the main aspect of City this season is they are not playing with the same authority for 90 minutes, something that happens to all top teams eventually as they adjust to different players but I still think we are yet to reach our game over the last few seasons. The effort is there but quality of reading game has dipped a little. It is recoverable though. Teams know City will not go anywhere to defend or put 11 in the box, neither will Liverpool for that matter so an entertains game is the prospect, let us just hope ALL fans behave themselves before, during and after the match._____________________________

I note the media are trying to whip us all up in a frenzy about Pep and Klopp. I am sure they are both having a smile and dinner with each other…” English media again” the topic.

442…is that not the problem now…..too much off the field control and comment. I hate the statistics, invented for those that do not attend matches and to give pundits something to elude to there superior after the fact knowledge> lets get back to simple football, train referees correctly have two if necessary because some cannot keep up with modern speed. I live in hope

Nil, last season Pep won the title by winning…he does not do conservative….Sunday..he will only have Plan A, it is only a question if the players get it right/wrong. It should be a great game, I expect Liverpool to come flying out of blocks and City trying to be be patient. I have no doubt we will create chances, just a matter if we take them. Same applies to Liverpool. I cannot see 0-0 I have a thought that Foden may start, the game will do him good for experience.
