maverick, thanks for your points on RM but sometimes “Rubbish” gives me a concern to.. I just feel are still a step away from winning the CL but I am sure they will get there one day, it is not a defining moment for me. However, it would be interesting to see UEFA officials handing over the Cup to David Silva would it not, stranger things do happen

23rd February 2020 at 4:25 pm in reply to: Week 27: Turn it on at HT and turn it right off again… #73905Adlab,, Real Madrid, we have a 50/50 chance, no more, no less I have thought from the start of the season that we did not have enough stability at the back but midfield and forwards should keep us in with a chance. I did not count on Laporte being injured so long and our full backs have been shaky until recently but now showing signs of doing better, Walker and Mendy. Two key players for me will Rodri and Bernando….unbelievable work rates along with KDB and this would be our only chance against them. I think he will start with david Silva and have Sane on bench. Real are still a top side but I would not fear them and I doubt City will. That may put a curse on City This season is about winning domestic Cups and a new challenge awaits all next season

23rd February 2020 at 2:17 pm in reply to: Week 27: Turn it on at HT and turn it right off again… #73811My view on the penalties. City pen, correct
KDB hands…a player is allowed to protect himself but in most cased that would have be given and we did get lucky on that
On the Ederson incident..No foul, no Pen.
The rest…bad miss by Augerro, bad miss by Vardy..City midfield took a grip, Leicester had some nippy players but laporte, Walker, Rodri, Fernandino and KDB held the midfield battle
Always thought this would be a tough game before Real Madrid but we appear to have come out of it without any serious injury_____________________________

Mak….I could be wrong on this but I am sure I saw Jose hastily wave a hand to Frank lampard….I was not particularly looking for anything amiss , the re runs only shown going down the tunnel but before that I think they acknowledged each other.. maybe I got the wrong person as well but looked like him, everything happened quickly

23rd February 2020 at 1:55 pm in reply to: New Hobbies for when Footy is boring you too tears… #73793Nine,, my family keep asking me to do that, I do not know if it is laziness or loss of interest but I find it harder to make a start. The keyboard does give me respite from the dullness of what is happening to football. In days gone by, fans used to drool over even visiting teams players, now you get boos, especially if the player used to play for the other team first. It was nice to see Zabaleta get a good ovation from City fans last week though, that took me back but it is just not that, going to watch Matthews, Lawton,Finney, Swift was an occasion looked forward to by all fans. The fan base to day is depressingly poor on quality, decency and fairness and I cannot see improvement anytime soon.I guess I have been lucky to have enjoyed that atmosphere in my time I think there is a wider social issue attached to this as well but at the heart of the thing is a team like Barrow who I watched play City in the league years ago is still going and there supporters must be enjoying the revival, good luck to them Big team fans loose sight of the lower league events but the struggle of survival and yet, without them we would not have a structure or a top 4/6/ 8/ whatever. My biggest fear with the advent of all the commercial money and betting companies is match fixing and nobody will convince me that betting companies are in it for a posh seat and meal only. I would certainly ban them from football strips, City have one which surprised me they even needed one. I do not want my Grandchildren or great grandchildren to be brain washed this way that betting is nice to do. Sorry for the ramble but football is fast becoming a bore as a game, decisions will be made by people who know absolutely nothing about the game…to its detriment

23rd February 2020 at 11:44 am in reply to: New Hobbies for when Footy is boring you too tears… #73702have to admit Chuky, VAR is getting to me, I said from the outset this was one step from match fixing because of the way it has been set up, vague rules, rules that are out of character with the game and toe nail decisions accepted.
I have my keyboard ready for when I give up football_____________________________

23rd February 2020 at 11:39 am in reply to: Week 27: Turn it on at HT and turn it right off again… #73697threes…I do not understand why you bring Liverpool into this discussion about Ederson and Inacheo it has nothing to do with Liverpool or City fans who you say issue crap, well I can tell you a lot of fans from just about every team have there movements of crap, The subject was a goalkeeper and striker. from that point it is about opinion to what happened, The Ref said NO, he was in a good position, the players never questioned the decision. No it was not my decision from MotD but from City TV and GMR Let us keep to the subject, I respect your view but do not extend it further than the incident

23rd February 2020 at 9:25 am in reply to: Week 27: Turn it on at HT and turn it right off again… #73601go blue, no leicester player made an issue out of it or did Brendan Rodgers. Inacheo went for the ball at the same time as Edderson, he will have known that but came off worse in the contact, brave lad though did what strikers should do , challenge Edderson was just ahead of him in my opinion

It was an action game so the quality suffered a little. Thought the teams were evenly matched with City’s much maligned defence keeping Vardy/ Maddison in check and the threat up front was greater than Leicesters. I think Real Madrid will now be the test on Wednesday….I also think Sterling and Silva will return and I would not be surprised if Sane gets a run out

22nd February 2020 at 8:00 pm in reply to: Week 27: Turn it on at HT and turn it right off again… #73556They will continue to have NIGHTMARES UNTIL THEY PRACTISE THEM BETTER. No PRO footballer should miss from 12 yds. Who is next on list..I would give Rodri a go…one thing he does well…hits a ball hard but then again I would not like to take one.
Adlab does get carried away at times but he supports his team and gives his view
Some only have an agenda to criticise anything that happens to City be in there control or not. ” Very similar” is not the same as identical. Ederson went to punch the ball, he would not have risked another red card at this time_____________________________

Nine..just to drop in about your question on Etihad Airways. The airline business is in a bust or boom scenario. Etihad in the last few years have made huge losses The 8 m was indeed small by to days standards but then we do not know how much they paid for the Ground naming rights although I think that will be recorded somewhere

The West ham match should be a cracking match to morrow, they need the points, we need the points and all the hullabaloo that is going on about City. Sadly, I am still on the injured list and will not be there put my ticket on City exchange list and was sold next day. I expect Mr Moyes will have a strong defensive plan but it is up to us to start putting the chances away again and stop giving the opposition a goals

tgreeps…I am not going to get into the others who post about anti arabic remarks either but the single point we all miss is EVIDENCE, not solely on how they were obtained but factual accountancy misrepresentation. Until it is finished in the Arbritation Court I will make no further comment. If City are found guilty, so be it, but we should not be judge and jury before then . Indeed, before the first Inquiry took place UEFA already pronounced sentence what kind of justice is that
I will leave it there

On the subject of if a keeper should catch or punch….I do not think he has a choice, in the split second he has to make a decision which is the right one he will either be right or wrong, I doubt keepers think beforehand they will punch or catch. If they are in catching mode though and are favourites to get the ball, if they get clattered they will have a foul decision for them in most cases. A punch maybe a little “iffy” if keeper gets it wrong

What Fifa and UEFA need is COMPETION to run the game. A breakaway is a step closer, not because of the City episode but the way the game is managed as a whole
Clubs also know they will make more money not tied by corrupt organisations_____________________________

There is more to this than we know, City are UEFA scapegoat IF the Arbitration Board is truly independent of UEFA and FiFa then I think City will feel confident since they have that option. In the meantime UEFA may back track because what they really want is CASH, so they will rack up the millions in a fine
I have always believed there is a strong anti Brit agenda, maybe an anti Arabic as well. A lot of groans about foreign ownership, so, where are the British investors???? (Going for HS2 and public projects investors where they can screw us) Like I said…there is more to this than just City_____________________________
