Nav…it means another way of protection of a few. They certainly do not want the Watfords, Brightons etc having any kind of influence, they just make things difficult for those outside there “elite” group of clubs, if they have to bend rules, they will

That was interesting Nine, you were probably in Japan the same time as me at times, I also made frequent visits, It ia the one country I felt safe in when on my travels and the people most helpful, never a lover of the diet except for Kobe meat but that was expensive. The railway system was fantastic, clean punctual and comfortable.

Pagan..that is something to be proud of. R/D is a brilliant place to be but shop floor was always my place until I was pushed upstairs. I also did 3 years in RAF as a Rigger and cried when I came out. Always loved aeroplanes, older the better

Chuky…it must be my age or I have found a new lease of life but I am actually NOT watching TV that much now. I would say my viewing is less than 10 hrs a week now. I think its great
Chuky…you keep working on ways to make things better, then everyone will feel the benefit.
I wonder sometimes when I see one of these huge container ships brim full of cheap throw away plastic toys…..why do we do this. a small plastics firm could do that for goodness sake, that is if we really needed so many cheap plastic toys.

Never mind Chuky, when I am PM I will ban such items and make them make sensible toys or should I say tools for apprentices of the future

Mikus, apprenticeships should be mandatory.I did 5 years, hard at the time but well worth it.
I have met many people with the same high skills as the clip shows around the world, these people are truly remarkable and are being lost in the sense that we are not training enough to follow them
I had one such person working for me, he did everything “the Navy way” including cleaning up after himself every job, he was one of the people I have just lost and was my “hands on” Works Manager
                      Thanks for posting the response

Chuky, quiet right, that has been the way of the world for last 20 years or so. The point I was trying to make was this crisis has to be a game changer in all aspects of our life and many things will be affected from oil prices, although I know they will get there own back at some stage and prices will escalate again, labour, materials, travel etc. I also think think we , in this country can make competitively, why do I say this, because we can also use technology. I can point to many industries where for greater output and lower costs than it was in the high and quantiful labour days it could be done. It has not been done because of countries like China, India etc are and still will produce such low cost products. This will catch up on them now There is a sequence to all this and you will find after the ww2 the low cost countries like Japan were eventually beaten one by one with other countries but now , we have Japan, Korea and Taiwan at top of the technology tree. Our balance between Services and Industry tipped too far over and needs to be addressed.
A good Govt. will get it right. When I started my business my inspiration was a famous quote from John Ruskin, I stuck with it and it served me well Take care Chuky

When I said “wait and have patience” that is what the rest of the public ARE doing and not get over paid prima dons back and the behest of self interested officialdom to make more money. Get the shopkeepers, factories back first not non productive activities for the country I hope, after all this, our Govt will take a strong view on being self sufficient again and encourage industry to start up, yes to steel, yes to textiles in all areas yes to shipbuilding, and others We will not be reliant on others so much then Any fanciful projects like HS2 and heathrow soap and divert energies into developing industry. The Services have played clan they keep britain going for too long but go from one crisis to the next, we need to less reliant on “the City” Sorry this has become a little too political and not meant to be just that I want lessons to be learned from when we come out of this crisis. It is not just a medical one but how we see our future

Looks like a “jolly” to me , so they can meet up and have a chat with mates (?) ( for some) It does put others at risk though which the Club would claim it cannot be responsible for. have patience and WAIT…when time ready go into full training and start a new season

threeps ..we have a plan!!! Good luck to those who are easing there way back, we are not ready because our death rate is still high. Football is a non entity in this scenario and Pagan and Nine are right in there observation as it applies here. Nobody is going to help us, we have to do it ourselves, stick together and follow the guide lines, that is the way we come through it. Allowing football to start, even with a closed door operation, brings additional risk and social responsibilities. Pagan is right, Football,it is driven by commercial interest, NOT for the whole welfare of the population. It will take away vital services when they are needed and lets not forget some of the front line workers need a rest and there replacements should not be at a football match I have been a football fan for many years but common sense must take place. I do not even care if the commercial aspect of football suffers, maybe, we will get some sensibilities back but suffer they must, like the rest of us I wonder how much suffering they do in there palatial offices and if they are on any kind of furlough, I doubt it Threeps, I am not having a go at you other than pointing out my view why we should not give football any priority, at least, the Pro game.Kids games need looking at, I am not sure anything can be done though Take care

We have had the fortune of having a rich culture of league structure which has to be the envy of most countries. However, modern times of football finance has ruled that heavy investment is deemed necessary It may well be that we will see a major loss of clubs in all leagues and the leagues themselves will have to be re shaped, cull, for a better word. Despite the wealth in the game football, given the huge structure is not sustainable for all. maybe in 10 years we will see a revival but I think it will take that long I would hate to see leagues like Europe and just a few teams dominating, I do not want to see City/UtdLiverpool/ Arsenal Chelsea/ etc dominating either.I want to see Everton, Preston Birmingham and Bristol and Watford to change the face at the top, I know, daydreaming again but I hope you all get the gist of what I am trying to say The capping of players wages will undoubtably help towards regulating the financial requirements but I would be against any restriction on how much owners could invest in the club, this is business, not football Profits will be made debts will occur but the balance sheet will always catch up at some point if anything amiss is taking place. Lots can be done in the accounting area.maybe this subject should have started another thread The future of football, as we DO NOT know it

There are many other issues with closed door games. Police would have to be employed Paramedics and fans will turn up at the gates, no doubt about that. How many staff will need to be on duty, including catering, cleaners, security One player or staff go down and I agree its all over but it should never have started

I am on record in saying Liverpool won the title and should be AWARDED the trophy, the table stands from that point, you cannot cover all bases in this scenario, some will be unlucky but a clean slate is needed. The only other viable route is void all league positions in all leagues and that would be more unpopular No winners I guess in this scenario whatever happens but the lack of decisive action is a concern, why do they pay people who cannot make decisions?

Nine…I just do not understand it, first it was May then June I do not know what happened to July but even August more ta optimistic unless they go for the fudge of closed doors. We are a long way off a proven vaccine and we still do not have control of the situation. I further cannot understand the bleating for an EXIT plan, this will happen when some daylight is seen and at the moment none available. They all want to concentrate on getting us through this and leave statistics and exit plans aside, they do not mean anything at the moment. Get in control then plan what comes first. Common sense should tell us what comes first and subsequent relaxation. I fear this is becoming a media driven witch-hunt to make a move too soon, I am hoping the people continue to back the policy of stay at home longer, it will be beneficial in the long run We all want it to end, but the end must not be capable of starting again and making things worse

The question is WHY get everybody’s backs up in different countries who have a bigger problem.. The answer to me is let the final league standing count. Abandon the Euro Cup next year and let the clubs sort themselves out, now that would be helpful to all clubs to concentrate on domestic issues which need to be addressed like how the big clubs will support the smaller ones . No word from any of the Associations on that only how they protect what they have, all of them the same….I will throw in Players Union as well under Taylor
