Nine..I am also of the opinion we are lifting restrictions too soon. I am aware of the arguments put forward by the people concerned with the economy but we are now at a stage where we are heavily in debt and we will have to claw our way back….we can do it. but if we cannot control the virus then we are going to be much worse off, in fact bankrupt Another 2 weeks we should see significant improvement but it is not there yet. The companies that want your cash will be eager to get everybody back, whatever the costs in human life and you know who they are. Brazil have now overtaken us in deaths, a second wave starting in China??? Everything is being driven in the media by statistics, they compare just about everything , probably at huge cost and how many times do predictions fail? I do not even find statistics based on what actually happened particularly useful either, In my view it is all a waste of time and money…who and how does anybody act on such conclusions anyway

Stevo, I honestly do not know, a bit of a lottery I think. I think Pep will use maximum players for this because he will have R Madrid in his sights and I still think he wants another Cup. However, this is such an unusual occasion for both teams I really do not know what to expect other than Pep goes out to win the match in front of him, that does not change

Mikus…I have to agree with you about Rooney and Tevez there contribution to the teams they played in was immense I never liked Rooney but could not fault his work rate and Tevez was just the battler supreme. They certainly made a difference to Utd. It also makes me think I would rather have them in my team than Ronaldo, as good as he is because they can actually knit a team together when it gets tough, that to me , is the difference , not individual class

Mak…I have a view on teams,players in/out. or no movement. I recently watched a few of City old games from a few seasons ago and I thought at the time, this is a great team how will it get better, well, in my view , it is all about a team evolving through a period, players do get older or move for different reasons, new youngsters are no longer youngsters. It applies to any team of course but if you think back to some of those great Liverpool sides you must wonder how it could ever change….but it does…and that is what football is about. The evolution of teams and how this is managed. We are both fortunate to have the best managers / Coaches in the world but we should know..it will not be forever. I have loved Silva and Augerro but we are now seeing the last of them. It is hard to imagine , who could possibly replace them and i guess this is exactly what you must be thinking if Mane, Salhah, Firmino etc goes. I am sure Pepp and Klopp have already thought this through more than once and another era starts for both of us. Enjoy

Nine..thanks..I always try and give a pragmatic view but never want to sit on a fence in doing so therefore I hope any content will mirror this as well. As to the Forum, I have mentioned before that this is has improved significantly, yes always banter, that should not be lost but I think the level of comment now is more thoughtful and reasoned. Long may it continue. Nine, I am just opting out of the Racism bit because I have said enough on the subject and want to discuss other things in the future. Take care everyone

I am not a racist and I do not think this country at large is racist but I am getting annoyed at being part of a branding the everything “whites” do or have done is racist. If they continue to take this route at some point there will be a stop to this. The statues and mass demonstration was a demonstration on just how stupid this was. Is it happening in Spain, after all they conquered S,America and well into the USA now. What about the Dutch, belgium Germans are they haveing same problem. How far do we want to go back The Romans, Ghenis Kahn??? We have what we have to day, if you want to make it better…work for it Also not forget two world wars that people gave there lives for for everyones freedom, that appears to be brushed aside. I fear that this arising could be counter productive and somebody needs to get a grip, least of all our Police Force to uphold the Law and for all to fully support them. Without a strong and effective force we have anarchy at the present rate.I no longer accept the common terminology “well, it only a minority” if you look at the figures it is far from a minority anymore. I did listen to Raheem Sterling on Newsnight, I think he was out of his depth and news night was kind to him. I am not saying his ideas were wrong but how he responded was if he was not prepared.
Nine, I know this is a football forum and we are all suffering from the lack of our sport and the lockdown but I will withdraw from future political subjects now on this because I sense a danger to the forum. I hope we can develop some other topics though

We also hear the usual cry on such events “it is only a minority” well the minority is trying to dominate the majority through fear. One day the majority will wake up This has little to do with events in the USA that has just been a trigger point. The simple fact is, no matter who you are, people have to obey the law. There is no plan B

Pagan…this is why the vote is important. The majority wins every time as it should do. The minority’s need to put forward a manifesto that would give them a majority but without the violence and destruction we are witnessing. This will end in bloodshed and there will be no winners only losers . At points in history the indegineous people of this country were slaves, do we now start campaigns to write the wrong? Racism can be solved in this country where it is found but it cannot be done by mob rule and disrespect of the millions of British people that want to live in a peaceful country again, we have fought for that freedom and we share that freedom. The culture of hate and violence must be conquered and I would want the Government to do everything possible to enforce laws to protect our country and well being of all its population

Racism should be stamped out in society but mass protest is not the way to do it. In this country we have a vote and that is still a powerful weapon. In America it is different so I am not qualified to speak about this, that is for the Americans to sort out. All these protest will come at a costs and more lives, I also believe there are agendas behind them to de stabilise a country, In this country the Police have lost control in areas which means one step from anarchy and we do not, unlike America, have a strong enough Military as back up. From what I see, there are no leaders in the Protest camp,in my mind, they need one, because what we see now is fronted by people who hurt, with some justification, but just going about it in the wrong way All it will do is exactly the reverse of what they want, then everyone loose Sad times, .

Sean re Silva…yes because of his skill, talents loyalty has to be my best outfield player in all my time watching City, Frank Swift still my favourite, doubt anybody will dislodge him from my mind Yes I and every City fan will miss him but time moves on.
I watched Kompany’s testimonial game last night. I was amazed how good Kolo Toure played and De Jong,Petrov.Good to see some of the players of yesteryear as well_____________________________

Sean…I think Foden will get a lot of game time but Pep will look for another experienced midfielder he either knows or has tracked.We still need a CB in my opinion although Ido fancy Garcia to step up, on the small side for a CB but I can name a lot of good CBs who were small

I hope the deal goes through for Newcastle and they become a top team again. I think the new owners will have followed the City project and develop the club in a similar manner. It would be reasonable to assume they will bring a new manager and players in to kick start there project Who they will be, nobody knows yet but I think it will not be too long before it is announced

Mikus…I think the Govt.no where near ready for what was to hit them. Conflicting views, too much emphasis on statistics and not enough “doing” but it would have caught most out. The argument then may say, well it did not catch other countries out…is not a qualified response in my opinion because
A. Different accountability
B UK obsessed in covering all options.
The only thing that matters to me is we find a way of controlling and eliminating this dreadful virus I do not want us spending time and money on statistical outpourings when the it could be better directed elsewhere. I do not want Politicians yapping away at each other, get working together. I want to see leadership and a strong Govt, the next 6 months we will need it If Boris is not up for the job the next two months will tell us all but I do no fancy the alternatives at the moment.As a PS cut out the daily briefings on TV and Radio_____________________________
