Ed. The only real area where we are weak and don’t have many options is in defence especially at centre half. Foden is definitely up against it. But he was on the bench today and if we hadn’t of had to sub our keeper maybe he might have got 10mins at the end?

So United only get a draw at the Britannia and Mouriniho throws his toys out of the pram at the end. Well there’s a surprise!

999 I have had two prolapsed discs next to L4 and L5 for about 10 years. Had scans and seen a consultant who said it wasnt serious enough for an opp. But when it goes its bloody painful and leaves me next to useless. I have learnt to manage my back and change what I do to prevent issues most of the time. But yesterday putting my socks on did it for me. It happens, but many people worse off than me, a couple of days and it will be on the mend. Jim

Thanks Beni.
As regards to the red. Sure he’s entitled to challenge for the ball. But is he allowed to kick another player in the face while challenging? A high foot in a tackle is always a risky business. The issue revolves around whether a collision that’s accidental should result in a red if one of the players is deemed to go in dangerously and recklessly. You probably remember Nigel deJong sliding in on Ben Arfa and winning the ball a few seasons back but he caught him with his trailing leg and broke Ben Arfas leg. Again accidental but he DeJong didnt even get a card as he won the ball. Much debate about that challenge too and even Chris Haughton deemed it just an accident. I remember defending DeJong at the time! Now I’m not so sure as it was reckless and the rules state that anything that endangers an opponent is a red card. Its a tough call but if Manes is not a red as its accidental then surely it’s not a foul either, if that was the case then I think City would feel very aggrieved. My brother in law, also a City fan, thought it was a harsh decision because it was accidental so clearly it’s divided opinion. Liverpool can of course appeal, presumably you think they should? Anyway at least Mane didnt get sent off for running towards his fans like Sterling did 2 weeks ago!? Cheers Jim_____________________________

I think you could also put the same argument forward for City under Guardiola 999. We will lose games playing three at the back especially with Otamendi in there.

Well I’m laying flat out on my lounge floor with a lower back disc problem. Wife took my girls. First home game I have missed for a couple of seasons. Bloody Typical!? I thought we were due a win against Liverpool. With regards to Mane I thought it was a reckless challenge but clearly not intentional. However flying in with your boot high, not getting the ball and catching the other player square in the face isnt good. If it’s a foul then it has to be a red surely and there are plenty of reckless challenges that are not intentional every weekend where players get booked. Just one of those things sadly for Mane and luckily Edison is ok. Kompany got sent off at OT for a two footed tackle that didnt even make contact with Nani a few seasons back! That aside I was disappointed in Liverpool, they just fell apart after we scored, No pressing no defence no passing play. I think Klopp will be very disappointed with that performance especially in tbe second half. City on the other hand took their chances well. King Kev had a blinder. But we still can’t defend and Otamendi is such an illdisciplined player. His positioning is awful and he still lunges into tackles. Nice to see Mangala on the pitch. Not a Pep player but strong and quick. I would have settled for 5-0 before the game. Jim

A bit more in this bit from the MEN.
Without a doubt it’s harder for our youth players to get in our side these days. I didn’t happen enough under Pellergrini, for example he played several very young players against Chelsea in the cup a couple if seasons back. Adibayio at centre half did particularly well. The mistakes leading to Chelseas goals were made mainly by Kolorov and Demichealis the latter was particularly bad in that game. But they still got picked in the PL run in games over the youth. 2 seasons ago Patrick Roberts was struggling to get on the bench and then DeBryne gets injured for 2-3 months and Pellergrini sends Roberts to Celtic on loan 2 days later and we play the rubbish Navas the rest of the season. Roberts didn’t get a chance. Same under Guadiola he preferred Navas last season when he offered absolutely nothing. I would like to see Adiarbiyo on the bench and on as sub this season same for Foden.

I havent seen him live as I hardly watch the youth games. But the guy who sits behind me watched him play in our youth set up lots of times last season. He raved about him. I watched him agaisnt Chelsea in the youth FA cup on tv. He has a great touch and awareness but looked a bit weak on the ball and I thought he along with several other City players got bullied a bit by the Chelsea lads. Brahim Diaz and Phil Foden got picked for the US summer tour ahead of him and rumours are Sancho threw his ratlle out of the pram and didn’t turn up for training. Leaving the club with no option but to sell him. Player power in a 17yr old with no first team appearances!! Many rate young Foden as better. Time will tell.

999 Azerbjan lol. A country the other side of Turkey that definitely sits in Asia. Since when was that in Europe. Parts of Iran are closer to the uk! Ulanbatur and them Bejing will be next. Mark my words. Anything to make more money.

Kompany out sadly. Two things spring to mind. Kompany needs to put club before country and retire from international duty and look after his body these days. Secondly how stupid does Guardiola look now with no centre half cover when every City fan knew this was likely to happen with Vinnies injury rwcord the past three seasons and we have no cover. But hey ho we have plenty of creative midfielders. If only the club put half the effort into getting cover in this position as they did chasing Sanchez. Sigh

B Silva looks pretty good but Mendy has immense pace and power. We look v good out wide compared to a the last few seasons. Sometimes I think we just need a target man like Dzeko lol. Jim

Hi Sean, nice to speak to you. Should be a great game. Think our forwards will click and we will come out with 3 pts on this one. We are due a win over you lot. Looking forward to it with the trepidation of a big game. Me and my girls will be going as usual and they want to do some shopping in town after the game so I hope I don’t suffer a double whammy, shopping is bad enough! Cheers Jim

Ed ok yes Wright went to west ham PL ummmm 50/50 call as they had one or two relegations like us arround then. I am struggling to remember how long some players played here for. Drogba how long? must have been five seasons? Don’t know about scholes. Le Tissier is a good shout by Nil. I had forgotten about him. Some special goals there aswell. I would swap wright for him. But unless there is someone obvious I’m now completely guessing.

I will go for
Aguero
Van Nistleroy
Gerrard
Wright
Giggs
Drogba
HenryI don’t remember Ronaldo being that prolific when he first came to United. Didnt he play deeper? And he was only here what 5 seasons? So I don’t think he got anywhere near 100 goals?
However Horseface just seemed to turn up in the pl and score goals for fun from the off, the ugly twat.
Not sure about Drogba or Giggs. But the latter played for bloody decades so he must be close.
