Nine, in no way am i defending Thatchers assault. I was at that game and i like 99% of City fans didnt want that thug ever playing for my club again. But why can’t we go there? Why can’t we discuss what challenge or tackle warrants looking at again and what doesn’t? Does it take a player to be knocked unconscious to be looked at. Or just an elbow/arm to the head, a cut head. Or a leg breaking challenge where the leg is actually broken? What are the rules? They arnt even published are they? It’s a random decision made by a faceless FA panel? that’s why I am questioning it? The precedent has been set. The FA could easily look at Puncheons assault and many others each year but they choose not to as they are gutless incompetent cowards imo. Who are actaully damaging a great game so many love playing and watching. Jim

Nine several clear dives have not even been adjudicated on. Why is that. Puncheons from yesterday?? Also the fact that the rules state that the dive has to result in a pen or a player sent off is clearly saying its ok to five in other instances.

Nine playing devils asvocate but why was Thatchers challenge worse than Puncheon’s. Interesting that both were done well off the ball. One was to the head. The other was a deliberate attack on Debrynes legs that could easily have ended his season. No attempt to play The ball. The FA have the power to overturn a yellow, but chicken out as they do not want to embarrass the officials. It’s nothing whatsoever to do with not wanting to reref games imo.

Nine you must also surely have to agree that at the moment the so called expert panel are clearly siding with the divers. All this nonsense about ‘there was contact so he had a right to go down’ all this does is justify cheating. The panel are making things worse imo. They are clearly incompetent just like the buffoons in the FA. Bring in some rugby players to decide. That would sort a few things out. Increase the ban to five games.

I’m sorry but the panel doesn’t need big names who are clearly poorly influenced by their own experiences in the PL. It needs completely fresh faced people possibly from other sports. Tbh I thought that was the case. So cheating can only be reviewed if a pen is awarded or a man sent off. You can’t even give a retrospective yellow. So Oliver saw the Dive today or possibly didn’t but didnt issue a caustion and Smith gets away with it as the Dive panel have their hands tied. Why on earth can’t these bloody fools at the FA sort simple stuff like this out. They are incompetent. Seriously put me or anyone on this forum in charge of the FA and I guarantee you we could do a better job than these bloody imbeciles.

Precisely Sean. Trouble is those at the top of the game in the FA are simply not fit for purpose. You only have to look at the way they deal with diving. Good idea in principal but they can’t even get that right with the unanimous panel decesion bollox with some dives not even questioned. The ref and or 4th official should be able to look at decesions after the game and change a yellow to a red and vice versa. Either that or being in vid technology.
