16th January 2018 at 2:11 pm in reply to: Latest Title Odds – Is it still a foregone conclusion? #12703Sky news convieniently forgets that we had our most influential player missing on Sunday. I doubt and hope he will not be missing the rest of the season. Also what other teams are capable of playing like Liverpool. Not many in this league. Spurs at a push. City don’t sit deep and defend and Liverpool punished their mistakes, we probably made more errors in that game than in the previous six games combined. Other teams will sit deep and defend in numbers. That is where Liverpool and others that are chasing are likely to drop points. Imho.

Arsenal are rapidly losing what little leverage that had in this situation. Expecting United to pass over Martial a young player with lots of potential on a long contract that cost them what 40 or 50m for a player with 5mths on his contact who will effectively be worth nothing when the window closes. In two weeks time. That’s the key why would any of Arsenals rivals give them any money now. When they can enter a bidding war in the summer. Lol. Perhaps he will stay.

Sanchez looks a right greedy tw@t now. Refuses to sign a new contract at Arsenal. Agrees a deal with City last summer, reneges on that deal to try and get more money, dithers over United offer City pull out saying he wanted more money than last summer! Surely this guy is the most mercenary of all greedy footballers? Wonder if he will get the same media pundit driven frenzy of hate that Sterling got a couple of years ago?

15th January 2018 at 8:28 pm in reply to: Cyrille Regis MBE : Ex-West Brom and England forward dies aged 59 #12629Sad news, way too early, great player with a cannon of a right foot. The baggies had a great side in the late seventies.

Very good Chucky. Seriously it was a good does of reality. But just remind me of those words when Kane comes cap in hand to Levy when Spuds renegotiate his contract! ? the Ed is of course right all players play for money to some degree or other.

Haha Chucky. Ed, If Evans is so good why did United sell him? Sanchez is a great player but he isn’t a Mouriniho type player is he? Hardly Drogba? Strikes of desparation to me. Like Lukaku a panic buy? But Lukaku is still a better fit.
Answer me this Ed If he isn’t moving for money why are United offering so much more than City? Why is he dithering unless he wants to see if City or Chelsea or Liverpool will offer him more. I would be more concerned from a completion point of view if he joined Klopp. As Liverpool would be formidable with him in the side aswell. But I honestly can’t see him changing United that much under Mouriniho.
Mikitaryan is being mentioned going the other way at the same time as £35m coukd be wrong but I haven’t seen a single report saying it’s a swap deal? But I admit his wages will offset some of the Sanchez wages.
Personally I think this is a big moment for City a statement if you will. The last few years we have been playing catch up to United. Not financially as since the takeover we have clearly been able to offer equal wages or better. But we are now saying we are not prepared to outbid everyone, come and play for us for how we play and what you can possibly win. Sure we have a fantastic manager and that is a big factor and we still offer massive wages, but it’s United that now have to offer more as they are not top dog anymore. You could say you have been knocked off that f****** perch Ed. ? cheers Jim

Easy peasy Ed, hes moving for the most money not the style of play and the greater chance to win trophies. But mainly because apparently he had a personal deal agreed last summer with City and then his agent has tarted him around to the highest bidder.
This will cost United. £35M transfer fee, somewhere between 5M and 10M in agents fees depending on who you believe. £18.5M a year over five years thats £92.5m pounds in wages and Mikitaryan going the other way. What did he cost? £30M. That’s a total of about £165M for a 29yr old. After which he will have no resale value.
Yep you are welcome to him! We need a decent centre half and by that I do not mean Johnny f****** Evans. ?

Rumours this afternoon that City are sniffing arround the money grabber Sanchez again. I really hope not given the ridiculous money being talked about. We have more important positions to fill.
Let him join United or wherever!_____________________________

Adlab, I wouldn t be too concerned about the hype arround Liverpool’s win yesterday. In fact we should take it as a compliment that the media think it’s such a huge event. It shows how far we have come, we have had a brilliant run, a record breaking run and it was going to end sooner or later. I never thought for one moment that we would go the whole season undefeated given the really attacking style of play Pep likes, much more so than the Arsenal side. We are still miles ahead and doing so well in the league regardless of the result. We didnt play well yesterday, we made mistakes and we really missed our most influential player. Liverpool capitalised its that simple. I am sure Pep will take this on the chin and him and the team will learn from it. Another run beckons?

Not sure Adlab, thought Fernandinho was poor today, i think his position and another centre half is where we need to strengthen most. Today’s game generally changed my opinion on that. Sanchez would have been nice but he’s a luxury.
