So the FA have released a transcript of what was said, which Klopp found unacceptable:

Tierney said: “Right, I have to show you yellow… it could be red, but I am going to show you yellow. He [VAR] said yellow. We will give you the benefit of the doubt, don’t do anything more.”

Klopp should publicly apologise. A one game ban with one suspended is not enough imo.

Four clear with three to play. I think Liverpool will win all three. Chelsea will get something at OT. So Utd will need to win the other two. Fulham could well cause an upset on the final day.

Needed to score in the first half. Looked only a matter of time. De Gea gifts one to them and we then looked shot. Could have played another half and not scored.

Martial has no excuse for that. I get other players are tired but he has not played. Should have brought on Garnacho imo.

Can’t see Lampard getting another PL manager’s job. Massive failure, should have stayed at Derby. He was never ready for Chelsea and was never going to last.

Lampard will go as soon as they find a long term (initially!) successor. Whilst they will underperform with him I think they will also let down any interim manager. They might as well find the replacement and go with that. I think Leeds wanted to act as relegation is a real threat for them, and Chelsea being on 39 points are probably safe. Though having to write Chelsea are probably safe from relegation in a sentence for the first time ever is almost making me change my mind and agree with you Sean! Shocking how bad they have been this season.

It’s not important Harry, agreed. Just wondered, on a footy forum, why that was given with the technology we have these days.

As for Casemiro, I generally quite enjoy pointing out that those who thought that type of challenge did not occur each week are wrong, and need to be more objective, rather than stating any red card for Utd is deserved.

I’ve just taken a look at that one sean, and whilst they are different (to me at least) – one is front on, the other the players runs from behind, one is studs first, the other the side of the boot, different amounts of force being used – you could argue Haaland got away with one, though that was certainly the lesser of the two imo.

There really is no consistency these days. Casemiro’s red card was a nonsense, at least one challenge like that each week since and they have all been yellows or simple freekicks.

VAR has to change and balance things out, it’s just so nonsensical to have teh exact same challenge being treated differently week to week, game to game or even within the same game.

I think I get what Klopp meant now, though still ridiculous. He meant that the ref wanted to give a red, but the fourth official said yellow [as it’s klopp not mourinho 😉 ] and then he apparently smiled. So the smile was the inappropriate action. Doesn’t fit with Klopps initial comment was clearly about what was said to him, and not someone smiling.

Not sure it’s on a level with Mitrovic. Mitrovic physically handled the ref and was very aggressive towards him after being shown a red, refusing to leave the pitch.

Klopp is just a bit of a twat at times. His comments regarding the alleged improper actions of the ref deserves a ban if found to be incorrect, which reading about what he now says “the ref thought it was a red card, and I didn’t think it was a red card” is just ridiculous. How can he say the ref acted improperly!? That is obviously ignoring that this is untrue as well as he was shown only a yellow card.

Hard to control your emotions at times, but he needs coaching on how to handle himself when things go mildly against him – as they will do in football – as he acts like a big baby at times. I know all managers can, but he seems to take the biscuit. Very lucky to get away with lots of stuff prior to this as well, so it’s not a one off.

Release the audio, or a transcript from it and go from there. If Klopp has lied regarding what was said he needs to be punished. If the ref has said something out or order he should be punished too.

Was Skipp lucky with his over the ball, studs up, challenge on Diaz? Casemiro sent off for less which was apparently a clear red card.

Jota looked very high on Skipp and no red card either. Then scores the winner. Can’t help but think that if that was another team more would be made of that.

Sean, it’s a clear offside. Anthony Taylor never gives us anything.

There was a time earlier in the game where the ball spins off for a corner. Casemiro is on the line and would have been offside if he try’s to play the ball, somewhere near the edge of the box, he twists to get out of the way, no Spurs player near him, doesn’t touch the ball and Taylor gives offside.

Yet when a spurs player is offside, interfering with play, and a goal results then he won’t give offside.

I knew he wouldn’t give that, but VAR is there for a reason. They might as well scrap it as it seems to be only used as and when they feel like it, and that cannot be allowed.

At least one striker, possibly two need to be brought in. Problem being the main one will cost £80m plus and I am not sure what that leaves for other signings. Might need a couple of decent free transfers to fill other positions unless we can sell some players for decent money – which always escapes us.

Ref is a disgrace. How is that goal given when he gave Casemiro off side in the first half when it went out for what should have been a corner and no one was near him. No consistency.
