Good start from us but need that second goal whilst on top. Shame the handball wasn’t given.

Ed beat me to it, clear pen and I get the ‘higher bar in the penalty area’ debate, but there was a very, very soft pen for City against us when they needed one and since then we have had countless similar (if not more contact situations) not given.
The integrity of the game is gone when the owners of a tea pay refs to officiate in leagues in their own countries. They should not be allowed to officiate City matches whilst being paid by City owners. Anyone who has an issue with that needs to give their head a wobble. It is clearly wrong.

Not the best performance from us. Cannot believe the money spent on players in the past few seasons.
Two clear pens and a couple more that would have been given if against us.

I think he doesn’t have the respect of the players. Makes me sick as they are professionals being paid huge sums of money and they just muck about rather than graft.
A lot of that isn’t his fault but he does need to recruit better. Hopefully the new structure allows for that.
Tuchel and Potter are a huge no for me, De Zerbi is someone who could do well but would the players respect him any more that ETH? Another gamble.

I think that is part of the issue Ed, it is no real surprise. People expect that now, it has become the norm for us but it really shouldn’t be.
We had something to defend after the wonder strike, Rashford did go down easily in the build up to their equaliser but there was more contact there then on their pen at OT.
Big summer from us but all the talk appears to be about a huge clear out – which we need, but we also need several positions filled too.

Just saw it on MOTD, didn’t see the first half one but ref clearly made a mistake for the second one.

I was keeping yo with the scores via the phone app. Quite happy at one point! (And not the pool score!). Just a constant reminder of how good the game we all love is. Not looking forward to tomorrow.

Clattenburg, who is paid by Forest, said the ball should have gone back to Forest after the restart when the match was stopped for a head injury a minute or so before the winning goal.
Haven’t seen it, so cannot comment, he seems to think it’s black and white though. But he is paid by Forest.

Don’t Forest pay Clattenburg? Be interesting to hear what he says about the goal. No doubt he won’t go into the red card.

I hope the VAR operators and the ref are stood down.
Other clubs would have had an apology today from Webb and the PGMOL. Let’s see what they do.

So a hand around someone’s neck is now not a red card? In fact it’s not a yellow, or even a foul. What a bunch of wankers we have making shit up with VAR each week.

24th February 2024 at 5:07 pm in reply to: Week 26 Carabao Cup Final Special 2024 and Premier League #212730Didn’t expect to get anything from that game. We are far too inconsistent and seem to need our best eleven out to get a win.
Rashford stinks the shirt out each week now and the fact we have no strikers or left backs in the squad is a joke.

Two nil up after 5 mins, and it’s still not a comfortable watch!
Too many players wanted to score from 20 yards rather than play better positioned players in.
Too selfish.

Yep, true Sean. I just need them to drop a few more points, and then Villa to follow suit.
Mind you, we won’t beat Luton tomorrow so it will all be in vain anyway.

A point, will that swing it back towards Liverpool or Arsenal.
The luck was always going to run out for Spurs, can’t count how many times they have come from behind to win this season.

Good win for us today. Thought it was a great match too, end to end stuff at times.
Lack of European games might benefit us in the run in as well.

It is pretty ridiculous; we are completely innocent, and our finances cannot be any cleaner and we can obviously comply with the rules but could you just not have the rules because if my brother cannot fund my club it might be hard to match that sponsorship, which honestly was not backdated, changed after the fact or inflated. Honest guv, scouts honour.

So you are not fussed that your own club received public money for the stadium rebuild, (as well as infrastructure), or that you refused to pay the agreed section 106 money, or that you are getting land and way below market value at the expense of the local population, or that you are receiving national lottery money to refurb one of your buildings? Who’d have thought!!

I agree Chucky, but it must irk you somewhat knowing that Spurs were not only given public money for their stadium rebuild, from both the mayor of London and local council, they have also had public money for better transport links, a huge reduction of the £16m section 106 money spurs should have paid (down to 500k) as part of the rebuild deal (which would have gone to local community projects), the best ever deal on acquiring Trent Park golf course at way below market value for the land, at the cost of local community, and lottery funding to redevelop a club building….
Oh, and Adlab better not even go there!!!!
