It’s a clear dive, he doesn’t even try to plant his right foot in a natural stride position – in would have been much further in front of where he ended up making contact with AWB. Absolutely see why it was given but that was a played for and got decision and those have to be the incidents we want to see driven out of the game – no matter whose team does it (and all do).
Makes a mockery of VAR too, though VAR doesn’t need any help in that regard. Clear punch on Yates by Maddison yesterday and a VAR / ref bottle job double act.

Good old VAR, let someone get away with a punch.

It really needs refs to sit down and agree what is a foul and what is a dive and then get VAR to re-ref.

Thatโs the thing Ed, he was always going down. He ran into a player on the floor.

He was going down anyway.

So Doku, whoโs owners pay PL refs lots of money to ref in Saudi Arabia, can kick a player in the chest and itโs not a foul, but when two people have feet high and one wins the ball, thatโs a foul and a booking. Mmm.

If you want to keep an eye on Rashford, Nil, look 5 yards away from where he needs to be and he will be walking in that spot.

Howard Webb must be crying now though.
Er, yeah, Dalot was stupid, Gvardiol was just unlucky, therefore one is a pen and the other not._____________________________

Also looks like a โstupidโ challenge, so passes the mav threshold for a pen. Maybe thatโs not official though.

Because CM, Man City pay refs lots of money to officiate in Saudi Arabia and refs are only human and wonโt bite the hand that feeds.

You canโt get booked for being stupid. It either was a foul or it wasnโt. Fella took a dive which usually results in it not being a pen.
We were told there was a higher threshold in the box for a fouls following the Duko high kick on MacCallister a couple of weeks back and on Monday Howard Webb will tell us both were fully deserved penalties.

And he came on as a sub, so was fresh and should have had a point to prove.

I wouldnโt mind if it was the same for both teams, but every time Chelsea players threw themselves to the ground it was a free kick. We got nothing all game.

Though Palmer is some player.

Ref was always going to play until they won.
Eight minutes added time and two of the softest penalties ever.

Was there any contact at all for the Chelsea pen? Surely VAR sends the ref to the monitor.

Just seen Andy Cole in my local M&S. I’m assuming it’s normal to tell another man that you love him? He didn’t seem to reciprocate my affection though and was more interested in picking the best kiwi fruits.

Not sure why they let Regulion go, he was the sort of player who thrives at Utd. Great attacking fullback. Did well in the few games he had, then got injured and didnโt really play since.
Not sure he has played much at Brentford either, so maybe something is up with him, but he seemed to have that working attitude.
Rashford is a joke, really poor from him. You never know what is going on behind the scenes but he went on the piss in Dublin rather than play in the FA cup and his attitude has stank all season.
I get that some arenโt good enough, I get some played freeze. But he seems to have got lost up his own ego. Same as Martial.

Sean – I think the issue we have is that we have very little strength in depth. Add to that an injury list and there is no one he can bring in. Look at the bench at Brentford. Needed a goal and no one on the bench who can score.
Once he brings in more players he will be able to drop players if they donโt perform.
At the moment he has dropped Anthony. Can he really drop Rashford for Amad?
Maybe now Mount is back he can start to rotate a bit but itโs desperate stuff.
