Brian. At the moment the one thing I would do is to amend the VAR approach to offside to avoid a goal being disallowed if your toenail is an inch in front.

TOB I was trying to make the point that once the team is mature/set up what you generally need to do is introduce one top quality player or so each year, That was the general approach, very successfully by SAF. By the way some interesting posts._____________________________

Just a small point purely on transfer fees in and out.
Last season net spend about £60m,
I suspect this season net spend won’t be massively more. So yes City do have the spending power but the net spend in the last few seasons hasn’t been massive. Its been more one in one out approach (not literally).
This is the approach SAF used to take once the team had been established. It was similar with Arsenal and Liverpool under Shankly and to an extent under Klopp. But nothing is forever unless you are in Germany._____________________________

Ed. I’m sure you are right yet the hype about Rangnick on his appointment was more than if the Messiah had arrived. All we heard from the media was that the guy was a tactical genius etc.

Just been watching yesterday’s football.
Ed. What did you think of United’s approach to the match and team selection. For me only two players really had their heart in it. De Gea and Ronaldo. I think this interim manager approach and an appointment before the end of the season has been a bit of a mess.Liverpool. One of those games We’ve had one or two. Although he is not in his best form, the positions Salah takes up to give a scoring opportunity is incredible. He would be the absolutely perfect player for us! I thought it was a reasonably fair result.
