Those characters get frowned on by the woke brigade in our society. I used to love watching MacEroe, hate (as a City fan) Cantina, loved rock musicians trashing guitars etc etc.
Today everything has to be sanitised and very politically correct.
I remember one line from Yes Minister in an episode where they were looking for an appointee to a Quango, Sir Humphrey said the ideal person would be a a black, one legged, Welsh person. Imagine saying that today. My point is that if anybody reacts about anything anywhere it is just tut tut or worse.
Yes professional sport is too professional meaning quash any individualism with a tut or worse.
That’s why for male sports we have to have female presenters etc etc …which I won’t say

Very disappointing that four players missing the US tour as apparently they have not had Covid jabs. Highly irresponsible imo.
Not just for themselves but more importantly for others. A real dim view. Stones, Laporte, Foden and Gundogan.

Eriksen a good signing for United. Also pretty glad Ake is staying for the time being.
Also it looks like Zinchenko to Arsenal for £35m. A good deal considering we paid about £2m but we definitely need to replace.

With their signings and a decent manager I think Chelsea will be very close to Liverpool and City.
Too close to call. We need to strengthen our defence with a left back and possibly another CB if Ake goes. The last few seasons have shown that the quality of the bench is what makes the difference. Most have a good first eleven but you get injuries, suspension and loss of form.
A good example is Maguire. Real loss of form and limited replacement.

Thing is Nine the reason I make such comments is because I just get cross. As I said any club can spend what they want AND I HAVE NO PROBLEM WITH THAT. Its the London press reaction that annoys me.
It is a brocken record I agree. Just hits a nerve. Daft as it sounds its the same reaction when I hear certain politicians lie. Hits the same nerve.

But never mind that hope you are doing OK. Covid seems rife again. A few of my colleagues in local Citizens Advice office are down with it. Interestingly none of them had previously had it even though fully vaccinated.

I know you will all tell me off about my press paranoia but here goes anyways.
Chelsea are making significant signings and good luck to them and no problem with that. But when we buy a player there is comment always about “big spending Manchester City”. Chelsea, also a big spender, and no problem with that, no comment about the big spending. It just annoys me but you know my paranoia! 🤐

I wish we weren’t selling Sterling. He is top class but I agree with the philosophy if you want to go and the price is right off you go and all the best.

Threeps. Yep of course you are correct and all deals are different. Maybe we should look at those quoted figures as the “gross” amounts but still valid for a sort of comparison.

Anyhow we will still be told in the press that we are spending loads but.?.its ok for others!

Manchester City are reportedly ready to meet Brighton’s asking price and launch a £45m bid for full-back Marc Cucurella.

The player has four years left on his contract after enjoying a terrific debut Premier League season. Graham Potter would rather not lose the full-back, hence his club’s steep price tag.

Not sure why Chelsea want to sign Ake. He is a good backup player but not imo Top class.
If this deal happens:
In Hasland £51m, Phillips £45m Ortega (keeper) free
Out Jesus £45m, Sterling £55m, Ake£40m??, Players to Southampton £22m Porro £8m ,Itakura £5m,
Thats £91m out and a possible £175m in so I would think there will be further additions
