As always I am pessimistic!!
Newcastle have to get a result against us sometime. And as we have seen, early season results are very unpredictable.
Tomorrow is going to be the most interesting game.

As I suggested in an earlier post ,I don’t think the Glazers are the whole problem. I think it is the scattergun approach to transfers with insufficient planning.
I sighted Sanchez, Fred and Ronaldo as three signings just to stop them going to City. No real plan as to where they would fit into the team.
Casemiro might be a top signing but by all accounts he is not a Ten Hag type of player??
Although the Glazers own the club it is the day to day structure which seems lacking .
And I still believe SAF has too much influence and inhibits whoever is the manager?

Just seen the 2pm results. Shows you. You can never tell. 3-0 to Leeds is a real surprise.
We could just as easily lose at Newcastle and United can beat Liverpool.
As always it takes about ten games before the league settles down.

Casemiro has to be better than Fred ot McTominay..I think buta very high cost and very high wages. Can they really afford it. The only question I would have is would he fit Ten Hags way of playing.

I think our game is pretty unpredictable. I think we haven’t lost to Newcastle for years. Has to happen sometime. But hopefully not. Newcastle have improved and present a much more difficult proposition than when Steve Bruce was there. We then have this strange game in Barcelona.

Just to make another point. Chelsea were happy with Abramovic for years despite links with
Putin.
Club successful…who cares about the owners.
Club unsuccessful….its all the owners fault.

Ed.I do agree that the owners are responsible for the appointments, no question.
But from my experience of large businesses somebody must be advising the owners as to who should be appointed.
Take City’s structure. The owner very rarely attends…similar. BUT we have a top man as Chairman and very good director of football.
I suggest this is where United fall short. Above all they need a top director of football.
Not Giggs though…only joking.
They will get it right but not with continuous changes of manager.

United’s biggest problem is trying to live up to the success of SAF. That’s nearly impossible.
Some fans had known nothing other than success. Imo the problem is not the owners but those running the club day to day.
City will have some fans in their early twenties who have had nothing but success with no understanding of the bad years.
In retrospect Jose was correct with his appraisal of the club as indeed was Ragnick but I’m not sure anybody was , listening.
Give Ten Hag a chance I think but question his desire for Dutch players?

Sean . TAA is absolutely top class going forward but not the greatest defender. Just like Cancelo at City. Both are more like midfield players and both get exposed by a tricky winger.

Just watched the highlights of last night’s game. Two super goals. Quite similar in a way. What an idiot Nunez. Will it be just three games. Strikes me lost of defenders will look at that and think how easy it might be to wind him up. That’s where the manager comes in. If it was me there would be a heavy fine. If you did that in the pub and the police came it would be an arrest and probably in court.
Other than that it looked a good game.
The game v United will be even more interesting. Both teams will want to put the first two games behind them.
