This is crap refereeing. Players should not be in the ref’s face every minute like we are seeing here. We desperately need a code of conduct as we have in Rugby. If I was ref it would be a card every time.

Agree Mikus but Mendy was play acting otherwise known as cheating as he made a hash of it.
But in any event it was imo an appalling decision. West Ham have every right to be very cross. If this had have been at West Ham there is absolutely no doubt in my mind the goal would have stood.

The reason Coutino goal was wrongly disallowed is because the linesman flagged and the ref blew before he shot therefore there can’t be any VAR. How is that right? A let off for us but I think correctly applied

Incidentally I thought Villa did well defending with the game plan to catch us on the break..which they did . But I think they have gone backwards from last year although we are difficult to play against.
By the way on the Liverpool v Newcastle game. All over and decided but if you replay the final 5 minutes of extra time there is no way you could add an extra 3 minutes. I watched this 5 minutes with a mate who is a Newcastle supporter and he is still livid. Good luck to Liverpool it’s the way it goes but once again poor refereeing. For interest if you can watch that 5 minutes with a watch. The ref has two. Dead and gone, points decided but the refs and VAR are just getting worse. Today’s ref for our game was OK

I have totally lost faith in VAR. Too many wrong decisions so far this season. It is not the concept but those operating it. They are so good at disallowing a goal when a toe is offside but some other decisions have been appalling.
We have discussed this ad nauseum which in a way proves the point._____________________________
