Good results tonight. But have you ever seen such a bad penalty decision. If you look at the highlights Pep is saying to the 4th official that its not a penalty. And we moan at our refs!
I wonder what effect VAR would have had on that!!? And what about the other officials? Did nobody see it!

There is also major concern about the, in my opinion, inevitable European Super League.
UEAFA would be finished. The league’s cash cow would stop. So there will be a concerted effort to stop it by all those with vested interest.
How? Lean on key wealthy clubs not to follow up.

FFP was invented not to provide financial fair play but to retain the status quo with, at that time the so called ‘elite’teams making it nearly impossible for anybody else.
There are certain clubs – guess who – that dont like it. In Germany the papers dont like Bayern’s monopoly being challenged. In Spain, -I have this on very good authority- the royal family, who previously bailed them out- are concerned about the demise of Real Madrid.

I actually believe in a FFP but not the original one. Those parameters were biased – for example to ignore debt levels. Of course Real, Milan, Barca, Utd etc etc would be caught up. So it was ignored.

The best approach is to limit spending. £100m per season – not per window. It would mean,though, players wages would increase dramatically. However, more use might be made of academy players.

UEFA etc need to be carful not to open Pandora’s box if the just investigate one or two clubs.

I think,rather obviously, much will depend on depth of the squad. We have lost a top player for another 6 weeks. How would Chelsea do without Hazard or Lpool without Salah for 3 months or Spurs without Kane? Injuries do and will happen.
