Personally I think the remarks made by the FA chief exec shows his true self and people within the FA.
THIS is not new. Bob Lord the Wigan chairman etc.
Kick it out?

5th March 2018 at 9:52 pm #17251But Adlab has a point in view of the anti semetic views of the FA leader and he has the nerve to call Pep for standing up for his countrymen. I do not like politics in football but the FA should have thought this through more
Apologising after the event is a cop out….who will fine them????_____________________________

6th March 2018 at 10:35 am #17292I completely agree Brian.
My argument is that to say what he said must be part of his thought process. Apologising is easy.
The whole idea of kick it out is to do just that. So if I made a really bad remark about Ashley Young, in part referring to his ethnicity, but then apologised that would be OK? I dont think so. It just tells one a lot about the people running the FA. They say one thing in public but really dont believe in it. To mention the star of David in the context of Pep’s yellow ribbon shows a mindset. How long before they start referring to our owners as Arab?..somethings or Chelsea’s as a Jewish Russian.
If we are going to kick it out it should apply across the board?_____________________________

6th March 2018 at 10:48 am #17295IMO Martin Glenn made a poor choice of words rather than a true comparison. He was just saying he did not want any religious symbols, far right extremist symbols etc on a shirt. Football brings many people from various different faiths and backgrounds together, you do not need to promote one culture or religion etc because you are there for one reason and that is to see your side do well.

6th March 2018 at 10:49 am #17296Adlab, the rules state no political or religious statements, so the Star of David was used to highlight religious symbols. Mentioning it in the same breath as a Nazi symbol was not the best thing to do. Had he paused and said the same applies to religious symbols such as the Star of David and crucifixes etc then I think that would have been ok.
As Iβve said before, religion and politics shouldnβt mix with sport, the afore mentioned can be decisive where as sport should be unifying….Pagan

6th March 2018 at 11:22 am #17304AnonymousHow is what Glen said antisemitic? City fans are just jumping up and down, venting for the sake of it.

6th March 2018 at 12:28 pm #17320I Heard the interview and personally I don’t think he said anything antisemitic. The media and pc brigade are the ones jumping up and down. He didn’t compare the star of David with the Swastika he just mentioned both as symbols and reiterated that the FA has to draw the line somewhere. People are taking what he said out of context. I wouldn t apologise if I were him.
