11th December 2022 at 9:12 am #201707I think Kane changed his mind. Loris in goal was the factor. Huge pity. I thought England were excellent. Sone brilliant stuff played last night. Really unfortunate.
Bellingham is going to a world star and I really donโt believe he will go to Liverpool. Madrid or city come calming and hrs going there. Also were are Liverpool going to get 100m + to sign him

11th December 2022 at 9:21 am #201708Really gutting. This was a great opportunity to go all the way. Thought we were the better side and deserved to go through but you have to take your chances.

11th December 2022 at 9:45 am #201709I wonder if Mbappe is that type of guy. Quite surprising if he did what he did and disappointing once again from what we’re seeing of these high profile professionals. Why is he even on the cover of Fifa?!

11th December 2022 at 9:49 am #201710The penalty was led to being too much time spent and the overthinking of it. 99% of the time as routine, Kane puts it away. Why didn’t any teammate at the time of the time taken just approach Kane to offer his support and diffuse any pressure?
I hope Kane doesn’t blame wear this disappointment and torture himself. I know it was such a golden opportunity to level the game but there are positives to take and in essence, everybody should be able to hold their heads high.

11th December 2022 at 10:55 am #201713Overall I think England had a decent World Cup and were probably the better team overall yesterday. It’s easier to take when we’ve played rubbish but we went head to head with France yesterday and the team didn’t let anyone down.

11th December 2022 at 11:36 am #201715Real shame last night, as I thought they played very well as they had throughout much of the tournament. I thought that last night Saka and Rice were truly top class. It was a shame that Shaw and Foden on the other flank couldn’t really impose themselves, but it is undoubtedly an opportunity missed, but the future is still bright, and I really hope Southgate stays as manager. After all, who would replace him? Bit short of likely candidates

11th December 2022 at 11:38 am #201716Agree with that Nine. I firmly believe we can be proud and hold our heads up high. What I am mostly pleased about is the players this time round being allowed to play to their potential.
All those other points we have expressed on here clearly have been noted because I have seen that we’re now taking the game to opponents as being proactive. Plus, not dropping our heads down when for example we’re in a losing position.
Gareth deserves praise and respect in my books overall for grounding and leading his players well. They didn’t get too carried away and conducted themselves well, win lose and draw.

11th December 2022 at 11:53 am #201717I feel optimistic going forward into the next tournament that we now a nucleus of good players. The obvious drawback is Kane with his age on the wrong side unfortunately. Hendo also, but we do have established players that can and should step up.
Whether or not this will be led by Gareth will be interesting to see or if he will be replaced by Howe or Potter.

11th December 2022 at 1:15 pm #201718England’s problems have always been cultural ones. We may well have some good players, but our media is still guilty of overhyping them. As better as we were in the second half last night, and as better our xG stats were, we still couldn’t score from open play. On deeper reflection, the match just felt like a cup tie between a top side not at their best (France) and a lesser side with some very good players and fight, but not just lacking top quality here and there (England). And France’s quality in Tchouameni, Griezmann & Giroud was ultimately the difference.

13th December 2022 at 9:04 am #201727I am not an England fan but was really rooting for them sat. For once, no real serious questions about Southgate. Maybe subs a bit earlier?
