Ah huge pity that. Thought England really went for it. Didn’t deserve to lose that

10th December 2022 at 9:09 pm #201685Southgate unfortunately needs to give way. I Respect him, a lot, but time to step aside.

10th December 2022 at 9:10 pm #201686Was a very good game, thought England probably edged it. England have a lot of young talent, Bellingham, Rice, Saka, Foden (bit ineffective tonight however) so the future looks good for you.
The ref was terrible, must have been 3 blatant fouls that were ignored.

10th December 2022 at 9:11 pm #201688Shame I thought England deserved to take the game into extra time based on their second half performance. Given the circumstances it might have been better to let someone else take the penalty.

10th December 2022 at 9:12 pm #201689Indeed Nine, particularly with Loris and Kane knowing each other so well.

10th December 2022 at 9:16 pm #201690Unfortunately, the standards of Refereeing Internationally have dropped. In my view against previous decades of Tournament World Stage Football, 1990 Referees for me were wholesome better. No-nonsense and ability to be confident to make a Decision.

10th December 2022 at 9:18 pm #201691Nine agree. Either Foden or Rashford. Never rely on one player solely and this essentially should have been pre-empted in hindsight.

10th December 2022 at 9:21 pm #201692So disappointing. I thought we were the better team overall. Kylian who? Walker had him sussed just as when we played PSG.

10th December 2022 at 9:24 pm #201694Primarily because of Lloris for me Nil it made Kane try something different which he wouldn’t have done had Lloris not been in goal.

10th December 2022 at 9:29 pm #201695Adlab, you just can’t believe nobody in this England set up has managed the penalty procedures better and thought more about it given how often we have them. From the Euro final when we threw on 2 non warmed up players, to today when you have clubmates involved in 2 penalties. It’s fine margins but that’s where you win and lose. Just a little bit more thinking was involved.

10th December 2022 at 9:35 pm #201697Nine, absolutely. Some feeling of mind games. Unfortunately and uncharacteristically, the spot kick was prolonged. Something to take learning from. From this, we need to eliminate being predictable and have in place, alternative Penalty Takers.

10th December 2022 at 9:42 pm #201700Mikus, unfortunately from the outcome of Tonight, there’s just a one man emphasis on the spot-kick and nobody else in place. No Reflection Absolute on Harry Kane as a True 3 Lion, and a Lovely and One Top Professional. He NEEDED really, the PRESSURE TAKEN OFF him.
Who else is READY TO STEP UP? This is what we need Essentially: More Ownership and Leadership.

10th December 2022 at 10:53 pm #201702On the half empty side. Life is generally full of disappointments and tonight is just one more.
With that usual pessimism..Good night chaps!!_____________________________

11th December 2022 at 7:05 am #201703Kanes miss was dreadful, I can understand if Lloris had saved it, but he’s ballooned it way over the bar, not even close. I feel for the guy, but this defeat lies firmly at Tottenhams door. It’s all Tottenhams fault.

11th December 2022 at 8:04 am #201704“Ruthless Kylian Mbappe taunts Harry Kane by LAUGHING at the England captain after his decisive missed penalty that saw France knock the Three Lions out and reach the World Cup semi”
Disgusted with Mbappe hope France don’t win it but I fear they might.
