Half-time thoughts:

France goal when shown from an Aerial view, I must say Top Class. I’m not sure whether there was a foul though leading up to the build up (would have to see in more detail again).

Positives from England:

No dwelling at all which is commendable. The belief, desire and energy has not dropped. I liked the pockets of spaces found and the link up play down the right hand side. The left needs to be brought to life.

Very Well Done Kyle Walker with that surging run, which brings me onto my next point on the ‘red carpet’ treatment and discipline on so-called big names. Griezmann rightly booked on his challenge to Walker.

At the closing stages, there was nothing wrong with that challenge and I thought that French player embellished his injury leading to Deschamps to react the way he did.

That shouldn’t put off England in putting up a fight and the next 45 mins are all to play for. Still In It.

Sometimes I wonder if we should play these people at their own game. We’re too honest for our own good. We need to be ‘savvy’, like Michael Owen in 2002 to earn that penalty against Argentina.
