25th November 2022 at 8:57 pm #201272Total Dog poo from England.
Still we shouldn’t lose 4 nil v Wales.
Massive improvements required going forwards.

25th November 2022 at 9:20 pm #201274Bloody Borefest. Simple as that. Even if we are supposedly in the Driving Seat!

25th November 2022 at 9:21 pm #201275He’s a Library. Conservative. Not adventurous or daring. Needs to go definitely after this tournament.

25th November 2022 at 9:35 pm #201277Praise in particular for Pulisic. Deserved a goal I must say in my books. Unfortunate because he really is a Top Pro for Club and Country.

25th November 2022 at 9:39 pm #201278Well that was 90 minutes of my life I’ll never get back. Just a very poor performance. Thought Mount and Sterling were particularly anonymous and Bellingham should have knocked Β£10m off his transfer fee.

25th November 2022 at 9:41 pm #201279Harry Kane’s Post-Match Interviews sound worse than my Geography Teacher on a Tuesday afternoon – Southgate clearly getting his Teamtalk through!!!!!

26th November 2022 at 4:42 am #201281Even as a Chelsea supporter I say neither Mount nor Sterling Sterling should be in that starting 11, as for Bellingham I completely forgot he was on the field till he got taken off . This is against an average USA side. No excuses simply not good enough.

26th November 2022 at 6:29 am #201282People tend to confuse the strength of the EPL with England national teams through the years, in the EPL you have great players of different countries playing and not many of them are English. So that tells you the tale.

26th November 2022 at 7:38 am #201283Harry maguire man of the match. Great game from him. No game time for Foden?
I read an article on Tuesday after the Iran game and it went do over the top on Englandβs performance. Now the media are going to slaughter Southgate. Itβs unfair on both counts
I like watching the USA. They press, they move the ball well etc
I donβt get negative football. Thatβs why I liked rodgers at liverpool. He would go and attack anywhere we went. Love us under Klopp. Had to many years of boring football under rafa but I do understand this a tournament

26th November 2022 at 8:34 am #201284Remember the ecstacy and the agony of 1990 Sean that’s the way World Cups are. England had ecstacy v Iran and the agony v the USA.
Foden should have come on, bringing Henderson on meant we settled for a draw which in the grand scheme of things was probably the right thing to do with the first objective being to get out of the Group.
Thank goodness for Harry Maguire. Never thought I would be saying that.π

26th November 2022 at 9:53 am #201286Ah itβs not Been agony nine mate. England in pole position to qualify . I just think there be a massive over reaction and Southgate be vilified. Itβs unfair

26th November 2022 at 10:03 am #201287It was agony watching that performance last night Sean.π
We’ll qualify alright but any of Spain, France or Brazil will be far too much for us.

26th November 2022 at 11:48 am #201289Some very good posts and points. All valid. Just feel shortchanged from what I feel we have in our locker to what we are actually delivering. USA I felt deserved that more than us it must be said, especially with a very good performance and heart from Pulisic.
I love the guy, but what was the point with Henderson? It’s the same long ball to try and expose their defense and set pieces.
We should play with more courage than just running the clock down and that’s what I feel annoys supporters, especially when they build themselves up thinking it’ll be a cracking game on a Friday Night.

26th November 2022 at 1:07 pm #201290Yeah Maguire justified retaining his place. Was a rock at the back. I have to say, I just don’t get Mount. Maybe I don’t watch him enough for Chelsea and I’m not seeing the best of him by watching him for England but I don’t know what he brings to the side. That was really poor last night but we should be through anyway.

26th November 2022 at 1:21 pm #201291I’m with you, Ed. I don’t really see what Mount brings to the table, particularly when you have alternatives like Foden available. I suppose Mount brings more defensive solidity, and that was obviously what Southgate wanted last night. I just hope for the Wales game, Southgate recognises the benefits (probably) in finishing top of the group rather than second, but experience suggests he’ll be more intent in ensuring we don’t lose by four goals, or whatever it is

26th November 2022 at 1:43 pm #201292Very interesting now that Poland have taken the lead against the Saudi’s.
The way things stand, Argentina have to win this evening!
