5th January 2023 at 9:58 pm #202327City did what they needed to do thanks to Pep’s changes and proved to be enough, but nothing to take away from Chelsea today. Unlucky for them not to find the net tonight, otherwise we could have seen a more intense game.

5th January 2023 at 10:10 pm #202330Lucky, do you think you’d now be better off if Tuchel was still manager?

5th January 2023 at 10:16 pm #202333Good effort from Chelsea on another day they could have got something from that game.
Big win for City I think they may begin to reel Arsenal in now.

5th January 2023 at 10:24 pm #202334Nine. I didn’t think this was the Chelsea we all feared so often What’s missing?
Is it the manager?
Is it the signings
Is it the new owner_____________________________

5th January 2023 at 10:30 pm #202336OK will fill you in, changed owner, lost keys players, bought a load without real strategy, sacked manager brought new guy in and forced to play players you have never even heard of against city when a goal down!
Apart from that there not much wrong π_____________________________

5th January 2023 at 10:33 pm #202337Adlab, 10 players injured isn’t helping, the last time James and Chilwell played together was 43 games ago and losing 2 players so early when you’re playing City isn’t helpful. And what Lucky said above.π

5th January 2023 at 11:00 pm #202339Tell you what though lads, I wish we signed thiago silva 15 years ago!
I can not believe how good he still is, remarkable professional and the most elite of defenders.Completely wasted his best years in PSG should have been prem league or la liga.
Thought he was desperation signing at the time given his age but where would we have been without him I dread to think!

6th January 2023 at 8:19 am #202343Thiago silva has been one of the best centre backs for the last 15 years lucky. Brilliant player.
Lucky, you say lack of statergy in signings but will not continue with the current owners mate? Tuchel is a top class manager, going by reports he wasnβt happy with interference from the owners.
Reports suggest potter was brought in as he is a yes man??? His appointment reminds me of Rodgerβs at Liverpool
Owners have come spent an absolute fortune.200m on defenders. Benfica going mad about enzo tapping etc.
In no way having a go at Chelsea here. Great support from the owners for the team but are they going to be owners that intefer? Great article on the athletic on why tuchel left. Heβs top class for me.
As nine days injuries are a massive issue. Some really top class players there who just havenβt delivered

Hope not long term Sean and we do now seem to be targeting a lot of young players. This summer was understandably all over the place and we have been stupid in the market since the transfer ban really when you look at it.It’s not lost on many chelsea fan that we lost a great coach in tuchel, but I am not going to waste a second weeping about or thinking about what could have been because its done.
Only thinking of the future now and there only one way to do that as a fan, optimistically!
I don’t think boehly wants a yes man, most successful people don’t as it is not beneficial, but he wanted a coach to be happy in the new set up and who seemingly has the ability to build over long term to match the profile of players we bringing in.
If you like tuchel maybe he can replace klopp when he goes!

6th January 2023 at 8:42 am #202345Benfica are not going mad about tapping, they are going mad because they were stupid enough to assert only the release clause will do but then start negotiations with us! What did they think we wanted to negotiate? Some second hand gym equipment?
We didn’t agree to pay what they wanted and their player is gutted about it. Happens all the time.

6th January 2023 at 9:48 am #202346Re Nine et al
Good effort from Chelsea on another day they could have got something from that game.
Indeed Nine. The old tale a game of two halves. That tackle from Stones saved a certain goal
for Clelsea.I thought your No 20 was outstanding.Driving forward from midfield. It
was almost Lampardesque from days gone by.Be interesting to see what two teams are selected for the FA Cup game on sunday?
Big win for City I think they may begin to reel Arsenal in now.
Hopefully we can go on a run now. Some really big games coming up over the next few months for us

6th January 2023 at 10:43 am #20235420 was Zakaria Paul, and considering he was a deadline day emergency loan signing I can not believe his quality.
Thankfully we have option to buy I think.

6th January 2023 at 11:21 am #202358Hit and miss like many of the others to be fair Paul. Picked up a knock which ruled him out of last night.
Good vs Bournemouth in first game after break but very poor against forest.
Big season for him and he has yet to extend contract.
