Adlab, this season’s a write off; no resemblance to last season when we clawed back 14 points. Mane was such a key component. Salah is quiet. Nunez won’t score all day long, and Trent will never change at the back. The Midfield need to be more compact. In fact away from home, we should be hunting in numbers. Forget this high-line nonsense. I’m sick to the back teeth of it.

2nd January 2023 at 6:35 pm #202212Nil if you play low block with these players it would be far far worse than what it is now.
Yay 3 subs and very understandable ones. Let’s see what difference it makes…

2nd January 2023 at 6:36 pm #202213Big changes and thank the lord. Let’s pull a goal back now and silence this crowd. Turn the tide.

2nd January 2023 at 7:18 pm #202218Apologies Mikus, wasn’t intended in that way. I think most fancied Liverpool regardless but without Toney, it should have been inevitable. He’s so important to them.

2nd January 2023 at 7:32 pm #202221Full Credit to Brentford; Huge Credit to the Premier League and I truly hope they stay in the Top Flight in years to come. They play fearless and with heart and spirit.
We are a shambles. We’re a mid-table team at best. Nothing more. We’re an embarrassment to ourselves. Players think only playing in 2nd gear will get you over the line playing highline you will be founded out.
Clear out needed and NOBODY is immune from being substituted.

2nd January 2023 at 7:35 pm #202222My impression was ….very sloppy. The manager should be very annoyed.

2nd January 2023 at 7:47 pm #202224I blame the manager adlab, we knew what was coming. Over loads at the back post etc. we werenβt organised and ready for what was coming and I blame the manager
We look a shambles . Conceding far to many chances most games. Full credit to Brentford. We need to get it together fast or we wonβt get near the top 4.

2nd January 2023 at 8:16 pm #202227Adlab, I have made a point of this so many times having learned the hard way (thinking this is a dead cert). Granted as you rightly point out is the key. We should ALWAYS respect the opposition.
There is no foregone conclusion albeit Manchester City, but even then, they were pegged back. I don’t understand the thinking from those predicting comfortable wins.
I stress, we are miles apart from any of those levels that kept us in 4 competitions right to the wire. We are disjointed in every playing position and void of fluid and consistency.
Basic hard yards and meeting physical demands. All the training conducted away from the actual 90 minutes on the pitch will count for absolute nothing if there is no desire, application and commitment. We need a facet change in my view as far as the first 11 goes. This particular classroom have reached their end of their term.

2nd January 2023 at 9:24 pm #202229Two things:
1 losing Mane
2 I still don’t think your midfield is creative enough. Too many long balls
Bit that’s just my observation_____________________________

3rd January 2023 at 7:31 am #202230Adlab “long balls” can and have been very effective in the past when they were better quality and we had better movement up front. Before we had Firmino dragging the CBs out of position leaving space for both Mane and Salah to attack. A quick accurate long ball was often devastating but now with Nunez more static that scenario no longer presents itself.
As I said during the match and I think Sean has also commented we need legs in midfield. If you play Fabinho and Thiago together you need a very strong runner with them, defiantly not Elliot. As we don’t have such a runner anymore with Henderson not as effective I would personally drop Thiago and play two that can run a bit, Hendo and Keita for example.
I said Nunez was unlucky not to score but looking at the attached still it’s hard to imagine how he didnt score. He either isn’t very good or is going through a terrible run of form and/or luck.

3rd January 2023 at 8:30 am #202232Threeps. I agree with your analysis. I think Nunez is a good player and has had some bad luck
