9S-I meant they shouldnt be playing for teams fighting relegation.

14th December 2019 at 2:30 pm #56654Watford deserved something from that game. Thatโs why clean sheets are massive.
Much better from Gomez. Alison is a beast of a keeper. Very nervous from us but itโs game after game after game and itโs all about winning. Two great goals from No
Who is flying againAn absolutely unreal run of wins. So delighted with that win as Watford were very good.
On to the wc now

14th December 2019 at 4:58 pm #56659That performance the worst yet by Chelsea following up from rubbish against West Ham and Everton. The rot has set in and for the life of me I don’t know what the cause is. 999 any ideas.

14th December 2019 at 5:29 pm #5666367, bit like our performance mate no ideas.?
As tough as it is to do decent business in January we may need the transfer market to rejuvenate us.

14th December 2019 at 5:37 pm #56664How Chelsea come back from this inevitable first blip is what will define Lampard, rather than the prolonged honeymoon he has endured until now. This is when we’ll really see what he’s capable of as a manager.
Their home record this season is simply not good enough and a transfer ban is not enough of an excuse for losing the games they’re currently losing, considering the players they can still put out.

14th December 2019 at 6:14 pm #56666Theyโre a team that has won titles and always chased for titles but theyโve got a team full of very good young players who need a year or two to develop into a team that challenges again. โDo you throw all of that away and just buy stars? Thereโs no point. Stick with it. Donโt buy players, wait until the summer. โFrank needs to keep this core group of players and let them develop and then eventually they will challenge. Thereโs no point in panicking. Itโs ridiculous.โ Chelsea face London rivals Tottenham next weekend. Jermaine Jenas.
A different viewpoint.?

14th December 2019 at 6:25 pm #56669Huge that next weekend Nine!
Where I disagree with Jenas’ point is “eventually they will challenge…”
Based on what exactly?! I said when they hired him it was a crazy decision. Sure, it could prove to be a masterstroke but it’s one hell of a gamble to take. But what is he basing the fact that a Lampard team will come good? Has he got a history of digging teams out of bad runs of form? No. Has he got a history of spotting a gem on the continent who could push them on? No. Has he done anything in his managerial career to suggest he’s capable of a job this big? No. But, he’ll be cut more slack than anyone else because of his legendary status at the club. Whether that turns out to be a good thing or a bad thing remains to be seen.

14th December 2019 at 6:26 pm #56671I knew Watford would be a challenge today. We have a few good moments, but there was also moments not to sweep under the carpet of the goals from close range we could have conceded.
They must have left their shooting boots at home and maybe they don’t fully believe in themselves or some other reason, or just bad luck.
Chuffed with the Leicester draw and we can relax a bit; possibly a draw could be afforded on Boxing Day. We need to focus now on a big week, but we can embrace the good result and fortune today and have some fun ๐

14th December 2019 at 6:41 pm #56675Ed, I think Jenas comments were more based on the potential of Chelsea’s young players than Lampard’s ability as a Manager.
Nobody can deny that Frank has only one season of managerial experience behind him in the Championship. The Club and the Chelsea fans knew that when they appointed him but given all the circumstances it was still the right decision imo.
Ultimately Frank will be judged on results like everyone else but he deserves next Summer’s window as well as the January window and next season before he can be truly judged and I hope that’s what he gets and I think it will be.
Losing your best player and probably the best offensive player in the PL and not being able to buy in the transfer Market is not an excuse but it clearly hasn’t helped neither has the injury list for instance today was the first game Rudiger has completed in the PL this season and Loftus Cheek won’t be fit until well into the New Year at best.

14th December 2019 at 9:09 pm #56681That draw by Leicester could well seal the title for Liverpool, especially as City and Leicester play each other next week, so one or both will drop even more points.
Lampard appears to have reached his Solksjaer moment already. The adrenaline and momentum have gone and heads have dropped. Can he turn it around? Losing to teams way off form too in West Ham, Everton and Bournemouth.

14th December 2019 at 10:08 pm #56684Well it is all going our way at the moment. Never expected Norwich to take something off Leicester, and well worth it, by all accounts.
Watford gave a really good account of themselves today as well, but I can’t tell you how bad the conditions were there today. The wind was hurricane force gusting straight off the Irish Sea, and God it was cold. Conditions were same for both teams obviously, but it was a bit of a leveller, I reckon.
Only worry is another injury, for Gini this time. They really are beginning to mount up. Everyone has been using injuries as an excuse for City, but we were without Allison for 2 months, Matip’s been out for nearly 2 months now and still no sign of him back, Fabinho been out for 3 weeks and still some weeks from being back, Lovren and Gini now out for an unspecified time.
Steveo= just would like a miracle from your boys tomorrow please!!

15th December 2019 at 6:08 am #56686As good as the results were against Spurs and City I wouldn’t expect anything from the game against Everton. Exactly the kind of game and opponent we struggle against. IMO huge if it’s a win. Here’s hoping.
