Let’s see, win for the Goonies, defeat for the Saints, hoping for a draw but very likely a win for City, Chelski vs Leicester and Wolves vs UnYooUtd are two very interesting match-ups, a good marker for all 4 sides for various reasons… a couple of draws would be nice but I have a feeling it’s going to be a Chelski/Wolves double…

15th August 2019 at 1:12 pm #45386What a game this Saturday Evening – really looking forward to it and just for once, I have the entire day off!
Hope we’re feeling fresh for our trip to the Saints – no resting on laurels; we need ALL 3 POINTS.

15th August 2019 at 1:32 pm #45387I’d be a lot happier if Sonny was back, he always seems to have one of his better games against Moneybags.

15th August 2019 at 2:36 pm #45409I think you’d still be good for a draw at the Ethiad.

16th August 2019 at 11:11 am #45469Frank and Jody’s first home game on their return to the Bridge it will be emotional.
Hopefully it inspires rather than detracts it would have been a tough game v Leicester anyway without having to cope with the rigours of Istanbul and the travelling. Fingers crossed for 3 points.

16th August 2019 at 11:21 am #45471Ye agree nine. Liverpool abd chelsea surely will feel it after Wednesday night
Southampton will be well up for it after a heavy defeat last week and we have to be up for it
Very tricky games for a few of the top teams this weekend

16th August 2019 at 11:27 am #45473Looks like Adrian is a doubt, something about a fan kicking/standing on his ankle?!
I might turn up maybe I’d get a chance in goal!

16th August 2019 at 12:03 pm #45479Bad luck to lose Adrian too. Message for the football gods, please spare some bad luck for city this season. Would love see them forced to actually play carson in prem. 🙂 no offence city fans, only need luck because you are so damn good.

16th August 2019 at 12:05 pm #45480There’s a clip of it on the Liverpool Echo daily blog. Seems after the game there was a small pitch invasion and the fan was running towards the players with a steward in tow and slipped into them. What a prat, guess he won’t be too popular at his local LFC pub next time if it ends up costing the team points!

16th August 2019 at 2:26 pm #45497All depends how much Pep decides to adapt his team vs Spurs. The reason why Poch got a result vs Pep last season was because Pep over compensated in the game at Spurs because he was worried about the threat of Spurs in the cauldron of their new stadium. If Pep does have a flaw, I think he does over think/worry at times rather than play his normal game.

16th August 2019 at 2:56 pm #45503AnonymousYa, you’ve got to be at least wary of wednesdays 120 minutes in a hot climate. Its crazy to have extra time so early but in a weird kinda way, it might help us get going, as our fitness wasnt at where it should be.
Of course, we’ll have gotten very little natch preperation in (if any) but if we can stumble our way over the 3 point line then I think we’ll see us being sharp and fit for the following game.
It took us a very long time last season to really get going too though, so it might just be how we do things again. I hope not but if this is how they avoid burn out and injuries etc then, ya… maybe.
As for that fan. What an idiot…. jesus.
It is indeed kinda funny but of course the consequences might be severe. Crazy stuff though.

16th August 2019 at 4:15 pm #45519AnonymousLooking at the matches, I find it pretty hard to come up with predictions for most, so I won’t try.
Chelsea v Leicester and Wolves v Utd could go either way. I guess you’ve got to see chelsea and utd as favourites there but their opponents are no joke.Im Reasonably confident Liverpool will win but we’ve got to play better and be fitter than we were just a few days ago…
I hope newcastle lose, TBH. Not sure if Norwich are good enough though. Then there’s the big one : Evert…. just kidding. Spurs will hopefully take points off city nice and early. I wouldnt have a reasonable level of confidence in many teams to do this but they are one of them.
No more injuries for liverpool please. Its too early to be asking the tealady to get between the sticks.
